When she woke up, Lin Wuyue had no idea how much time had passed, but she assumed it was already the next day.
She checked her internal injuries—completely healed.
"This body created by the Seed is undoubtedly a rare treasure. If I continue strengthening myself, future injuries won't be a problem at all. On the contrary… they might heal instantly."
She let out a soft sigh.
"In my previous life, I also possessed terrifying regenerative abilities—almost like a cursed inheritance. But compared to that, this body's regeneration… it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say it was created by the heavens themselves. Tsk. Lucky me, I suppose?"
After that, she stood up and washed her face.
She had many questions about where this underground river originated from. She also realized she hadn't properly explored the crystal mine yet. Looking around more carefully, she noticed two large openings—one where the river entered, and another where it flowed out.
It was quite interesting.
Her curiosity was especially drawn to the opening where the water entered. It wasn't very large, but given her small size, crossing through it wouldn't be a problem at all.
She shook her head quickly.
Any thoughts or ideas could wait until after breakfast and cultivation.
Only then did she remember the fish she had left exposed. Naturally, they were now covered in insects and smelled so bad that she frowned deeply.
"Do I really have to fish again…?" she muttered.
But then she hesitated.
"Since I'm already inside the river, it wouldn't hurt to take a closer look… right?"
Her gaze shifted to the hole where the water flowed in.
"Just a quick look won't hurt."
With that thought, she decisively stepped into the water and headed toward the opening. Although there were no strong currents, it was still difficult for her small body. By the time she reached the entrance, she was already panting heavily.
"Why didn't I just walk along the shore in the first place…?" Lin Wuyue complained to herself.
The opening was dark. It was clear there was a narrow tunnel ahead, but as her senses continued to sharpen, she could hear rushing water beyond it.
"A waterfall?"
Her eyes narrowed slightly.
After a brief pause, she decided to move forward.
She could feel fish nibbling at her feet—it was annoying—but she couldn't turn back now. She hadn't brought anything with her, and her curiosity was already fully awakened.
If she could secure an escape route for emergencies, that would be even better.
With that in mind, she quickened her pace. It didn't take long before she emerged from the tunnel.
What she saw stunned her.
She was inside a cavern hidden behind a waterfall.
The space was enormous—but what truly shocked Lin Wuyue wasn't the size of the cavern, nor the waterfall itself.
It was the skeleton.
A human skeleton sat in a lotus position, supported by a sword. It was dressed in black robes, with a red inner garment trimmed in gold. It was obvious—this person had once held an important status.
The sword's sheath was black, engraved with patterns resembling a dragon.
Unable to resist her curiosity, Lin Wuyue approached and examined the skeleton carefully for a long while.
"How strange… This person must have been extremely important. Why would someone like that die here?"
As she moved closer, she noticed several wounds on the arms and a massive injury to the chest. Then she saw something inscribed beside the body.
"Blood Demon Cultivation Technique…"
"Huh?"
Lin Wuyue raised an eyebrow.
"A legacy from an unorthodox sect, I presume. You had no successors and knew you would die here, so you decided to pass this on to whoever found you… isn't that right?"
She stroked her chin, clearly intrigued.
In her past life, she had always walked the path of orthodox sects and carved out a fearsome reputation. Yet now, in a completely different body and life, she had stumbled upon a legacy of the Blood Demon Sect.
"Heh… interesting. Very interesting."
She crouched down and continued reading.
"The Blood Demon Cultivation Technique is perfected by unlocking the three foundational points of cultivation: internal energy, innate energy, and the Yintang. To safely comprehend this technique, one must proceed in order—first innate energy, then internal energy, and finally the Yintang, to attain enlightenment."
NT/ A:
• Innate energy is the energy located near the core of the heart. It can only be activated by those with a well-developed physique, strong mental fortitude, and repeated experiences near death.
• Yintang, commonly known as the Third Eye, can only be unlocked through acupuncture, a spiritual beast legacy, or—at best—through sudden enlightenment.
Lin Wuyue pondered for a long moment. Then she bowed respectfully to the skeleton before searching it.
"You were right… This person planned to die here from the very beginning."
Beside the sword, she found two sword cultivation manuals.
She was ecstatic.
She had only just reached the first level of Spiritual Warrior—if she cultivated while practicing these sword techniques, her growth would be much faster.
With that thought, she approached the skeleton again and gently removed its bony hands from the sword's sheath. The dragon-patterned sword was undoubtedly a treasure—but for her small body, it was extremely heavy.
Even so, she decided to draw it.
The moment the blade was unsheathed, she was stunned.
It was a beautiful sword.
Its edge gleamed brilliantly, as if it had only been placed there two or three days ago. There was no rust at all.
She glanced back at the skeleton.
From her experience in her previous life, she could tell that the body had been there for at least thirty years—yet the sword remained flawless.
"It must be because of the sheath," Lin Wuyue concluded quietly.
She carefully returned the sword to its sheath.
