Chapter 63 – A Glimpse Like a Shooting Star

Afternoon, a day later.

At the east gate of Shrek Academy.

Dai Huabin, his face still retaining traces of pale color, accompanied by two middle-aged men, swiftly passed the entrance assessment and completed his registration.

Observing Dai Huabin, whose eyes were clouded with shadows and who clearly harbored lingering resentment from the previous day, one of the middle-aged men hesitated before lowering his voice to offer a warning.

"Second Young Master, as your subordinates, we cannot enter Shrek Academy with you. Please go to the academy with utmost caution."

"That youth is also a Spirit Elder. His talent cannot be underestimated. Once he joins Shrek, he will inevitably receive significant attention. Should anything happen, Shrek Academy may take advantage of the situation—and that would not be good for Madam either."

"Enough! I have everything under control. I don't need you two cowards, who dare to do nothing, to tell me how to act!"

Before he could finish, Dai Huabin interrupted them impatiently.

A violent glint flashed in his eyes as he spoke with venom.

"This grudge will not be left unresolved! You two are unreliable—so I will handle it myself!"

The two middle-aged men instinctively clenched their fists a little tighter.

Wasn't this all because of him, the troublemaking brat?

The incident five years ago had still not taught him a lesson, and now he had gone even further, only now stepping on a stronger force. If it weren't for the two of them, he would have long since been unrecognizable even to his poisonous parents.

Yet, no matter how much resentment boiled within them, they could only endure it silently. Though they would survive this incident, they would certainly face severe punishment for failing to adequately protect the young master.

Having such a living father was truly an ill fate passed down through eight generations.

Anger tinged their voices with icy restraint. "The task has been completed. We shall return first."

With that, they did not linger, merging into the crowd and walking out of Shrek City.

"Hmph. Worthless trash."

Dai Huabin snorted coldly. Just as he was about to enter Shrek Academy, a sudden commotion from the nearby crowd caught his attention.

He instinctively turned his head. At that moment, his eyes locked on a youth walking toward the registration area, flanked by three absolutely stunning girls, drawing the envious and jealous gazes of all around. His entire body froze in place, shaking uncontrollably.

"It's him… It's definitely him."

Dai Huabin's voice trembled, a fear unlike any other sweeping through him.

Though the youth's appearance had changed greatly, the deep azure eyes etched into his memory instantly identified him.

Under the specialized training arranged by his mother, he had once believed he would never fear this person again. But seeing Huo Yuhao in person, he realized that belief had been nothing but a delusion.

At this moment, all he felt was a crushing sense of powerlessness, accompanied by a fear that seemed ready to devour him entirely in the next instant.

His body's reflexes betrayed him, as if mocking the years of training he had endured to dispel his inner shadow.

Why?

Why is he here?!

No… no. Calm. Calm. This is Shrek Academy. He won't dare to act.

After taking several deep breaths, Dai Huabin forced down the nightmare-like fear. He no longer dared to linger, turning on his heel and fleeing into the academy without a backward glance.

Behind him, Huo Yuhao's deep azure eyes quietly observed his panicked retreat, silently, without a word.

"Yuhao, what's wrong?"

Noticing Huo Yuhao's unusual demeanor, Tang Ya asked curiously.

"Nothing."

Huo Yuhao shook his head. "Just saw someone I know. Come on, it's getting late. Let's register first."

Compared to Huo Yuhao and his transformed companion Gu Yuena, Tang Ya and Jiang Nannan, a few years older, had matured in both face and figure over the years.

Dressed in academy uniforms, though their looks were not quite on par with Gu Yuena, they still drew a great deal of attention from the new students.

Senior students, however, mostly paid their attention to Huo Yuhao and Gu Yuena, already aware of Tang Ya and Jiang Nannan's reputations.

The former's gaze was drawn to Gu Yuena for her astonishing beauty, and to Huo Yuhao with envy at his extraordinary luck.

Not only did he have three stunning girls by his side, but two were the renowned beauties of the Outer Academy.

As experienced Shrek students, they knew well the personalities of these two girls. Jiang Nannan was polite, while Tang Ya had never given a kind face to anyone attempting to flirt with her over the years.

Yet, countless people continued to try, hoping to win the heart of one of the beauties—or believing that repeated attempts could sway their affections.

Today's scene shattered that illusion.

One of these girls, actually following the youth step by step, smiling so harmoniously beside him?

The sun must have risen in the west!

Is he just a little handsome?

There are plenty of handsome boys in the academy, right?

So why him?

Watching Huo Yuhao chat and laugh with their goddesses, many could not help but scoff.

What's so special? Three of them—don't drown yourselves trying.

Meanwhile, Huo Yuhao, the target of these secret murmurs, was fully aware of the rising jealousy in the minds around him. He felt, for the first time, that perhaps showing off a little was not such a bad thing. {T/N: I also want to show off. But Single from birth.}

Only when the four arrived at the registration area did the crowd gradually realize what was happening. A handsome new student glanced at the senior students nearby, curious.

"Senior, who are those?"

The senior, not one to hide information, turned his gaze at him. "Why? Planning to flirt?"

The new student blushed, caught in his thoughts. Before he could respond, the senior shook his head.

"I suggest you give up. Those two are the Outer Academy's famed beauties—Tang Ya and Jiang Nannan. Countless have tried to approach them, only to fail miserably. You'll gain nothing but a scolding."

The new student paused, instinctively pointing toward Huo Yuhao.

"And him?"

The senior hesitated, a note of bewilderment in his voice.

"I don't know about that kid. Seems to be a freshman. Tang Ya and Jiang Nannan have never had boyfriends, so he's probably unrelated."

The new student's lips curled into a confident smile. "Since there's no confirmed relationship, that means I still have a chance, right?"

Where do you get such audacity?

The senior's mouth twitched, but he said nothing, looking at the young man with pity for his foolishness as he walked toward Huo Yuhao and his companions step by step.
