✨Synopsis ✨

"You belong to me; no one has the right to touch you like that." His voice comes cold and dominant as his hands run over the sides of her hips, trapping her in his grasp.

She stared at him, unable to utter a single word. His gaze penetrated her, making her legs shake with fear and excitement.

Her captivating gaze locked with his daring one, her lips pulling into a seductive smile as she leaned closer, taking him by surprise.

"What are you gonna do, Mr. Kings, if I let another man touch me?" she whispered seductively.

He grabbed her waist, pulling her roughly body to body; he could feel her breasts pressed against his hard chest.

"I'll kill him," he whispered back darkly and possessively.

He checked the time on his Rolex watch and grew in anger. Why was she doing this, and wasn't this the first time? Today, she knew they had an important meeting with a crucial client, yet she was late, acting as if she were the boss. His cold, angry gaze was fixed on the boardroom door, hoping she would walk in before the client did. But there was nothing, and that only fueled his anger. "Where the fuck are you, Annabella Evans?" he hissed.

Suddenly, the sound of heels echoed through the wooden floor. Her black stilettos were the first to appear, followed by her body coming into view. Her vanilla scent filled the room, and she let out an apologetic smile as she walked toward her boss, who was staring at her intensely. Charlie Kings's gaze locked onto hers as she placed her laptop beside him. He closed his eyes, taking in her fragrance, and had to admit that she smelled and looked gorgeous.

Her face was striking, with a subtle, captivating intensity. She had a delicate complexion, with soft brown eyes that seemed to hold a quiet strength. Her lips were painted a bold, vibrant red, adding a touch of confidence to her overall look. The combination of her features gave her an air of poise.

He watched as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, his jaw clenched in rising anger. What was she trying to do, coming this late?

On Annabella's side, she felt uncomfortable standing beside her boss, sensing the heavy tension between them. But this wasn't the time; they'd have to address this matter after the meeting. She sighed and looked around; at least there weren't many people in the boardroom.

"I'm sorry for being late, sir," she whispered to her boss, who nodded without saying anything.

A moment later, a knock came, followed by one of the employees, who walked in with Mr. Adams, the client. Annabella smiled, meeting him halfway.

"Hello, sir. I'm Annabella Evans, Mr. Kings's assistant." She shook his hand; Mr. Adams smiled and nodded before walking to Mr. Kings.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Adams. Let's get to business, then," Mr. Kings said.

"I'm sure you've already read the contract," he asked, his gaze on Mr. Adams, who nodded in agreement. Mr. Kings looked at Annabella and gave her a nod to proceed. She nodded, opening her laptop, and walked to stand in front of everyone.

"So, this is what we've accomplished so far," she explained as everyone listened, watching the big screen.

"I promise you won't regret signing a contract with us, sir," she said after finishing her presentation.

Mr. Adams nodded with a warm smile and stood up. "I have to say, your assistant knows her work, Mr. Kings." Mr. Kings nodded, feeling a sense of pride despite his lingering frustration with Annabella. If only she didn't seem to take pleasure in pushing his buttons.

"I'll be looking forward to working with you, Mr. Kings," Mr. Adams said, extending his hand for a handshake.

"Welcome to Elevé Kings Management," Mr. Kings replied, pulling his hand back after the firm handshake.

Annabella let out a sigh of relief; at least one thing had gone right.

"See you around, Miss Evans," Mr. Adams said with a nod.

"You too, sir," she replied, watching as he walked out.

With the meeting over, she packed her things and followed her boss, who was heading to his office. Her heels clicked on the hallway floor as she hurried to catch up. Mr. Kings walked into his office and closed the door behind him, leaving her standing alone for a moment. "Ugh," she muttered, knocking on the door before hearing his response.

When she entered, her heart racing with fear, Mr. Kings stood tall, his eyes fixed on the city view outside the window. He loosened his tie, his back to her, and she could sense his tension. Annabella fidgeted with her nails, unable to speak. The fact that he wasn't shouting made her even more anxious.

She bit her lip, smoothing her dress before clearing her throat to break the silence. Mr. Kings didn't move or acknowledge her presence, leaving her wondering what he would say next.

She knew that when her boss was this quiet, it meant he was angry. When he wasn't that angry, he shouted at her. "Did you like the presentation, sir?" she asked, her voice laced with hope.

Mr. Kings let out a deep chuckle, wondering if she was being deliberately obtuse. "Are you not going to explain why you were late, Miss Evans?" he asked, his voice calm and collected, but she could sense the anger beneath the surface.

"I...I—" she stuttered, trying to find the right words. Mr. Kings put his hands in his pockets as he turned to face her. She smiled nervously as he stared at her with a blank expression.

"If you don't have anything to say, leave," Mr. Kings said, his voice laced with arrogance. She took a breath and nodded. "We have a lot to do, so go do your work and stop acting stupid and senseless." He walked to his chair and sat down after saying that.

Annabella glared at him in anger but composed herself and walked out to her office, which was right next to his. When the blinds were open, she could see everything inside his office. She watched as Mr. Kings closed his blinds, and she rolled her eyes.

"Hmph, what a dramatic man," she muttered, rolling her eyes as she

"Weeeeh, don't act stupid—do I look stupid and senseless to him?" she said, dramatically imitating his voice, and scoffed.

Suddenly, her office door opened. She lifted her head and looked at the person who walked in—a tall, slender woman with long black hair tied into a ponytail, wearing a black silk dress with a white cropped sleeve shirt. Annabella's face lit up with a smile as she rose to her feet and walked toward her best friend, Joyce.

"I bet someone missed me," Joyce said as they embraced. Anna smiled and stepped back. "You look...hot," she said, tilting her head to study Joyce's outfit, and they both giggled.

"Thanks, babe. I brought your necklace back," Joyce replied, lifting a small box in her hand. Annabella walked to her office table, leaned on it, and took the necklace. She sighed, and Joyce's expression turned serious, her eyebrows raised.

"I heard you came late again today," Joyce announced with a teasing smile. "What's happening?" Annabella stared at her and chuckled, unsure of where to start. "Can you believe he called me stupid?" she said, recalling what happened in Mr. Kings's office.

She scoffed, still annoyed. "I can't believe he just called me stupid because I was late. Who does that?" Joyce laughed at her frustration. Annabella glared at her. "You're laughing at me right now?"

"Why didn't you explain yourself and tell him the reason you were late?" Joyce asked with a playful smirk.

"Ugh, you won't understand what I'd say to him anyway—that I was late because my boyfriend was stuck in traffic," Annabella said.

"Milton?" Joyce questioned. Annabella gave her a look before rolling her eyes.

"Who else? That asshole of a boss I have doesn't have the right to call me stupid," Annabella pointed out.

"Who does he think he is to call me that? Just because he's handsome and has money doesn't make him all that. Ugh, such an arrogant man he is—I hate it," Annabella ranted, pacing.

"You know, I don't understand how you're friends with him because that man is too proud and full of himself," she ranted faster.

Since she wasn't facing the door, she didn't notice Mr. Kings walking in. Joyce, who was seated on the sofa facing the door, was the one who saw him. Mr. Kings stared at Annabella as she cursed him, saying how much she hated his behavior. He clenched his jaws.

Joyce tried to warn Annabella, but she continued, "What I'm just saying is what I'm feeling—that man is a big asshole." Annabella rolled her eyes. Joyce looked at Mr. Kings's angry face and laughed, standing up.

"Hello, Charlie, you are here?" Joyce

"Haah," Annabella turned around and gasped in shock, looking at Mr. Kings. She quickly looked away, feeling embarrassed and scared at the same time.

"Oh God, I'm doomed."
