Chapter 1

Time:- 17:30 hours IST
"That was a hell of a day." Placing down his backpack, Sumit murmured.
"Being a medical student in internship period of MBBS sure is exhausting." But, finally I got to my bed.
"Let's check some news…" As Sumit opened the famous networking platform Kwitter , he scrolled his feed for latest news.
"Hmm.. wasn't the new chapter of that Pirate manga supposed to be released this week?"
"I guess, I will check that out later on."
While scrolling his eyes froze on one caption:
"BREAKING NEWS!!!! THE COMET APC IS GOING TO PASS AT A DISTANCE OF 1 MILLION KILOMETERS TONIGHT"
Seeing this Sumit remembered.
"They have been hyping this ,for god knows how long as an Alien ship."
"10 Minutes to go." Looking outside the window , it was already dark because of winter season.
Dialling a number on his phone , he waited till the other party picked up.
"Yo, bro what's up?", an excited voice came from the other side.
Saurabh was Sumit's best friend throughout the college.
"Nothing, just enjoy your date." Smiling widely Sumit ended the call.
He was familiar with Saurabh's antics and knew, for him to be so happy he must be on a date with his girlfriend, Riya.
While thinking about the comet, Saurabh ascended the stairs to reach the terrace of his hostel dormitory.
"The view here is fantastic as ever." Sumit mumbled while gazing at the vast lake in front of him.
This city which was situated right at the heart of India, was rightfully given the epithet "City of Lakes".
"I guess it's about time." He looked up in the clear sky to watch the comet.
Gradually the tail of comet started to become visible.
Wait a minute….
"Wasn't the comet supposed to pass near the earth tonight?
"
"So how come it has a tail?"
These were the last words that came to Sumit's mind, before a blinding flash suddenly lit up the whole sky.
Soon Sumit lost consciousness and collapsed on the terrace.
This phenomena simultaneously occurred all over the Earth.
Every intelligent creature on the planet suddenly collapsed.
Some who were sleeping were absolutely fine.
But the majority were unfortunate. The surgeons on operating tables, pilots, drivers , people on roads.
They truly met an unfortunate demise. Later the estimate death toll would be revealed to be about 1 billion humans that passed only in a few seconds of Apocalypse.
After an unknown period of time..
Sumit opened his eyes.
"Arghh… my head feels like exploding. What wax that flash?"
As Sumit looked upwards he could not believe his eyes.
"IS that a…. SPACE CRACK?!", something that Sumit had only seen or read in work of fictions, presented before his eyes.
"It's closing !" Sumit's eyes could not leave the space crack as it vanished before he could even properly adjust to reality.
Then suddenly an ethereal voice sounded into Sumit's mind.
"DENIZENS OF THE CELESTIAL PRISON 003"
"The time of fulfilling your purpose has arrived."
"PROVE YOUR WORTH TO THE EMPEROR OR PERISH LIKE THE INSECTS YOU ARE!"
Suddenly Sumit felt as if, he was punched the gut and fell to his knees.
"NOW THE STAGE IS SET!"
"ONLY THE FITTEST WARRIORS WOULD BE ABLE TO GAIN A CHANCE AT REDEMPTION."
Sumit who was still looking at the sky thought that he saw two stars blink out of existence.
"What the hell is happening ?", this was the thought of every human present on the planet at this time.
MEANWHILE in a remote village of Europe….
A crack in fabric of reality appeared at the outskirts of village.
Out of the crack, two individuals appeared.
A girl who looked like a teenager , her face having the features of a goddess with fair skin and jet black hair. The girl exuded a temperament of nobility.
With her deep red eyes the girl curiously examined her surroundings.
"So, this is the Fabled Eden?" with a melodious and serious voice the girl spoke to the man beside her.
The man who was towering well above 2 metres was bulking and had a rough face of a warrior. Even though his species did not get permanently scarred, he kept scars on his face to remind himself of his triumphs and losses.
"Yes, it seems so young miss."
The girl frowned and only two words escaped her lips, "How disappointing…"
"Let's move , Parker. We need to start gathering information now. How much time before the rest of our Elites can cross the seal?" the girl asked.
"I guess, it should at maximum take 3 months time for the army to completely arrive here. Though that only applies to the Elites of our side, we can probably transfer 10,000 of our foot soldiers right at this moment." Parker replied.
"No need, let them be on standby for now." after saying this, blood red wings resembling a bat's grew on the girl's back.
Parker went through a similar transformation as he replied , "Your orders, shall be fulfilled young miss."
They flapped their wings and in an instant they rose to the sky and with a speed reaching far beyond humanity's fastest fighter jets they disappeared towards the horizon.
