(BRUNO'S POV)
The silence after Sandra's confession is brutal. It hits the room like a gunshot without the sound.
Everyone's eyes are on us now. Heat crawls up my neck, and all I just want to do is disappear. Melt through the floor. Rewind time five minutes and stop her from saying it out loud.
Some of them look stunned 'cause they definitely didn't see that coming at all. Some look confused, trying to piece together how the hell this happened.
I keep my jaw tight, staring at the floor, feeling my ears burning.
So this is it.
No more pretending. No more dodging looks or unfinished sentences.
Everyone knows.
Valentino's the first one to break the silence.
"Okay," he says slowly. "And when exactly did this happen?"
Sandra gets defensive. "Does it matter?"
"It does," Val snaps back, "when the two of you can't stand in the same fucking room."
I feel the pressure spike. I don't even think before I open my mouth.
