Danzo spat out a storm of slicing air. Scythe-like blades tore forward, sharp enough to slice both flesh and chakra alike.
Poof—!
Hidan's body shredded apart like a broken kite.
First cleaved into three by the twin wind shuriken, then minced into countless fragments by the vacuum waves, finally sucked into the tapir's cavernous maw.
"Hah… hah…" Danzo exhaled heavily. Izanagi hadn't even been needed. The brat had been devoured...reduced to food for his summon.
"Hmph. Uchiha arrogance… the same disgusting disease every last one of them carries."
He smiled coldly, eyes narrowing at the monster before him. Filth consumed by filth. That's fitting.
Still, his brow furrowed. Now how do I escape this cursed space…? He had no mastery over space-time ninjutsu. That was the greatest problem.
He sank into thought.
Meanwhile, Hidan watched with amusement. Danzo hadn't noticed a thing. From the moment Danzo entered the Sea of Blood, he had been caught in Hidan's Genjutsu.
The illusion kept Danzo occupied, believing every cut, every summon, every fake "victory."
But to Hidan, it was just a sideshow. Amusing… but hollow. He preferred real fights.
"It's over. Let's claim this pawn."
He raised his gaze. Atop the towering spire in the distance, a crow stirred.
Its feathers blended into the bloody sky until it swooped down, landing neatly on Hidan's shoulder.
Its left eye glowed scarlet, a Sharingan. No, not just any Sharingan. Shisui Uchiha's Mangekyō.
The crow tilted its head, awaiting command.
"Do it," Hidan ordered with a grin. No point wasting my own Kotoamatsukami when Itachi already handed me this little gift.
The crow's eye spun violently.
"Kotoamatsukami."
The invisible force of Shisui's will shattered Danzo's resistance instantly. His blank eyes sharpened, but the hostility was gone.
His core self remained...his ambitions, his hatred, his ideals but his loyalty was rewritten.
From now on, he would follow Hidan's will without question.
The crow's eye dimmed, its Mangekyō reverting to an exhausted three tomoe.
Its feathers trembled as it croaked weakly and fluttered back toward the spire, drained from releasing such a jutsu.
Hidan exhaled, satisfied. "So this is the power of Kotoamatsukami, even if it's just a simple Mangekyo unlike my eternal. Even a man like Danzo bends without realizing it."
It was the perfect tool. A single, flawless strike that didn't waste his own Eternal Mangekyō's version.
Although his limits in the usage had increased but still it couldn't be wasted on Danzo.
Now his personal Kotoamatsukami remained untouched, reserved for when it truly mattered.
Choosing this as my second power was the right call. But even better that I don't need to spend it here.
His smirk widened. After all, only the Rinnegan can resist this. Until someone like that shows up… I'm untouchable.
"Danzo. From now on, act as usual. Return to Root. Spread the word yourself...announce to the village that I am an Uchiha survivor, dispatched by the Third Hokage on a secret mission. Make them believe it."
"Yes, master." Danzo's voice was flat, obedient.
"Kamui."
A spiraling vortex opened, swallowing them both back into the crypt.
"Danzo-sama!"
"Hidan!"
Torune and the Root operatives spun in shock. The moment they saw Hidan, their weapons were half-raised, ready to strike.
But Danzo's voice cut through coldly. "Stand down."
"…Yes." Torune hesitated only a second before obeying. Danzo's words were absolute.
"I'll be leaving now, Danzo-sama." Hidan grinned, then slipped into another swirling vortex.
The crypt grew still again. Only Danzo and Torune remained. At length, Danzo's voice echoed softly:
"Spread the news. Tell the entire village that Hidan is an Uchiha survivor. Say he was dispatched by the Third Hokage on a secret mission. Make sure everyone knows."
"Yes!" Torune bowed deeply. Though doubt gnawed at him, he buried it and departed.
Alone once more, Danzo sat silently, the gleam in his single eye flickering like a hidden flame.
