"Miss, please stay away from him in the future," the Hyūga clansman whispered as they walked back.
"Hidan is said to be a survivor of the Uchiha clan. Rumors claim he has already awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan at his age. That is… terrifying."
Even he hadn't expected that Hidan would accompany their eldest lady on a swing. It was absurd.
He had to warn her...the Uchiha clan was an ominous one, and Hiashi had already ordered that the Hyūga must never become entangled with them.
"Uh-huh…" Hinata replied absentmindedly, her head turning back again and again, as though expecting Hidan to suddenly pop out and surprise her. Clearly, she wasn't listening at all.
To her, things like clan relations and political orders meant nothing.
All she knew was that Onii-san had been kind to her, and he was willing to play. That was enough.
The Hyūga clansman sighed in exasperation, patting his forehead. She's not listening at all… I'll have to report this directly to the clan head.
The two of them walked under the fading dusk, their shadows stretching long across the path.
--
On the Hokage Rock cliff, Hidan lay on his back, staring at the sky. The dusk had faded into a high, starry night.
The moon glowed bright, and he enjoyed gazing at the vast heavens... endless, yet dotted with light in the darkness.
The sky really does feel like my heart, he thought lazily.
Swish!
A Root member appeared, masked and half-kneeling, scroll in hand.
"Lord Hidan, this is a secret letter from Lord Danzō." He presented it respectfully, then stepped back.
Hidan frowned slightly, accepting it. The "plot" hadn't officially begun in this era, so why was Danzō suddenly reaching out?
He opened it and scanned the words. Slowly, his lips curled into a grin. "Heh. So it's this. That guy really can't sit still, can he?"
He closed the scroll and looked up. "Tell Danzō I'll join the operation tomorrow."
"Yes!" The Root operative vanished.
"Such an amusing drama… how could I miss it? And all those killing points to collect, it'd be a waste not to."
Hidan's eyes gleamed blood-red as he looked at the stars, which seemed to tint faintly crimson in his vision.
The next morning, Hidan stood, stretching lazily.
Chakra flared from his body, instantly drying the dew. He had spent the night on the cliff.
He still had no house in Konoha. His "home" in the Root base was damp and oppressive, and he hated it. The cliff under the open sky was better unrestrained, free.
"The show's about to begin." He smirked, stepping into a swirling vortex. His body disappeared from the cliffside.
In the Root headquarters, Danzō was already waiting. Beside him stood Aburame Root and a Yamanaka clansman.
Today, they would move to reshape the shinobi world and now, they only awaited Hidan.
Suddenly, space twisted, and the boy appeared.
"Kept you waiting, Lord Danzō." Hidan's smile was warm and playful.
"Since you're here, let's go." Danzō's tone was cold, hiding any hint of subservience.
He followed Hidan's earlier order perfectly... act as though everything were normal.
"Danzō-sama! Why… why join forces with him? You know who he is—" Aburame Root blurted in protest.
"Silence." Danzō's glared at him with a ferocious expression.
Aburame Root froze, sweat pouring. He had forgotten the terror his lord could inspire. How dare he question him?
"…I understand my mistake," he muttered quickly, standing like a piece of wood.
Hidan chuckled at the scene. Not bad. He does keep his dogs in line.
But then his eyes narrowed on Danzō himself. Something was different.
His right eye was hidden under fresh bandages, his right arm concealed beneath wide sleeves.
Chakra radiated from him... no longer quasi-Kage, but fully at the Kage level.
Through his Sharingan, Hidan could feel it clearly: the breath of transplanted eyes.
So he's already gone under Orochimaru's knife, Hidan thought. His gaze lingered on the bandaged arm.
According to the "script," that arm now carried ten Sharingan, combined with Hashirama's cells to keep the overwhelming spiritual power in balance.
With that, Danzō could use Izanagi. Limited, but still broken.
If Sasuke hadn't killed him early… given more time to master it all… just how strong would this man have become?
Kidding...he would be dead old man anyway but who knows.
Hidan smirked, entertained by the thought.
"Interesting. Let's go. First we'll cut down Hanzo's men — then I'll enjoy watching Danzō-sama perform."
With a wave of Kamui, he warped the entire group away toward their target.
In a dark ebony forest, armored Rain shinobi moved cautiously through the trees. Their faces were hidden beneath masks.
Suddenly, a vortex appeared ahead. From it stepped over thirty masked figures, led by a one-eyed man and a silver-haired youth in a tengu mask…
