" The Darkest Night "

Vakratunda Mahakaya, Surya Koti Samaprabha

Nirvighnam Kurume Deva, Sarva-Karyeshu Sarvada.

(O one with a curved trunk, a massive body, and the brilliance of a million suns, please make all my efforts free of obstacles, always.)

The night was deeper and darker than a new moon (Amavas), so profound that it was about to become extremely painful for someone—more than anyone could imagine. For some, lives were about to change; for others, they would simply vanish into this night.

A terrified, shivering girl, her blouse torn and petticoat stained with blood, clutched her stomach. Her face was soaked with tears, and her body trembled violently out of fear. She kept looking back, constantly checking for someone. But one thing was certain: this dark night was the darkest night of her life.

"Catch her! She shouldn't get away. We won't spare her today!" yelled a boy who looked no less than a thug, seeing the girl run.

Four or five other boys were running with him, clearly intent on capturing her. A brutal lust was visible on all their faces, which made the girl shake even more violently with fear.

The girl was silently praying, begging God for her life, but perhaps today, even God had forsaken her. The pitch-black night, where nothing was visible far and wide, combined with the terrifying rain, had completely broken her spirit.

She was experiencing excruciating pain in her stomach, which was clearly reflected on her face. Meanwhile, the boys chasing her sped up, shouting, "Hey, you! Catch her fast, or she'll slip away!"

"Oh, Bholenath (Lord Shiva), please save me, please!" she cried, tightening her grip on her stomach. Blood was continuously flowing from below—she was pregnant. Her speed had slowed considerably. Panting heavily, her vision blurred, and she stared straight ahead. Perhaps she saw her end approaching.

By now, the boys had caught up to her. They looked her up and down. Her flawless, fair body was clearly visible, bearing the marks of the beasts, likely inflicted while she tried to defend herself. They gazed at her with lust-filled eyes; the rainwater made her body glisten and stand out. Seeing her, they repeatedly licked their lips.

"What happened, Beauty Queen? Can't run anymore?" one boy said, laughing, as he looked the girl over.

The girl pleaded with folded hands, tears streaming down her face, "P-Please let me go... Please let me go... Look, I won't tell anyone."

"Oh, Queen, if we let you go, who will soothe these burning hearts of ours?" the boys said and burst into laughter.

Hearing their laughter, the girl cried and begged them, "Please let me go! Please, I request you, please!"

"What's the hurry, Queen? Let us have a little fun. We have been chasing you for so long. And you want us to let the prey that's within reach go? That's very unfair!"

Hearing his disgusting words, the girl's crying intensified. She folded her hands again and said, "Please let me go! I am pregnant! I-I need to save my baby, please!"

"Then it will be even more fun," the boys said, laughing maniacally. The girl saw no hope, so she gathered her remaining strength and ran again, putting all her effort into escaping. After running continuously for so long, and then running again, her condition deteriorated rapidly. The flow of blood also increased.

"Hey, you idiot! Catch her, or she will escape!" shouted one boy angrily. Hearing him, another boy gave an evil smile and said, "When and how far will she run? Either she'll die, or she'll make our night colorful today."

Saying this, they laughed and ran after the girl. The girl, who was now running on the highway, kept looking back. Suddenly, a bright light flashed in her eyes. She couldn't maintain her balance, and a scream escaped her lips.

"Aaaahhhhhh....." With that scream, she plunged straight into a ditch. Closing her eyes, she began to recall the moments of her past. A stream of tears flowed from her eyes. Closing her eyes, she called out only one name:

"Arjun..."

On the other side...

In the same dark night and torrential rain, a car sped by at full velocity. Today, it feared no one, nor did it show apprehension. It was racing as if desperately trying to reach someone.

Cutting through the rain, the car screeched to a halt outside an orphanage. A young man, his face etched with immense pain, his eyes completely bloodshot, and his body shaking with fear and agony, stepped out. Despite his good looks, today he looked no less than a rogue.

His shirt was half-out, his hair disheveled, and he wore two different shoes. The young man didn't look left or right but rushed with fast steps into the orphanage. Perhaps he was looking for someone or hoping for some sign.

After glancing around, he saw nothing. Then he went straight into a room where a beautiful wooden picture was hanging. The entire room was decorated very sweetly.

After his eyes scanned the entire room, they fell upon a diary placed on a table, its pages fluttering—perhaps someone had just finished writing in it.

The young man opened the diary. Tears streamed down his eyes, and the diary slipped from his hands. Trembling with fear, he slumped to the floor right there.

Suddenly, with a cry of pain and anguish, he screamed, "Chaandni...."

The desperation and pain in his voice were enough to shatter anyone's heart. Clasping his hands over his forehead, he sobbed in agony, as if someone had utterly broken him or as if he had lost his most priceless possession.

That's it for today...

Who was that girl and why did she call out Arjun's name?

Who is Arjun, and what is his relationship with that girl?

Who is Chaandni, and who is the young man who called her name?

What is his relationship with Chaandni?
