Chapter 216 - Chapter 414

414

"Tail Hammer Gun!" Gin bellowed, fighting through the unimaginable pain. If he was better at Life Return like the other members of his crew then it wouldn't have been an issue, but that wasn't the case. Onigumo quickly raised two swords, blocking the strike. The force still sent him skidding backward several feet.

And that wasn't all, due to all the distractions, the Vice Admiral didn't manage to coat his sword, so, due to Gin's attack. And right before Gin's tonfa's hit they shined black at the last second hinting at something beyond natural.

Gin's attack landed and the two swords got bent in odd angles. Surprising the Vice Admiral. "You managed to use armament?!"

But Gin was in too much pain to even realize this, only acting on instincts. Like his weapons his tail also shone black and the ancient zoan managed to land a critical blow that folded the Vice Admiral in two, throwing him to the ground.

Where he skipped a few times like a rock, before managing to stop himself. Onigumo looked up to see multiple projectiles on their way, so he had to defend himself.

With four swords still impaled in Gin's body, Onigumo was left with two swords. But still at the hands of a Vice Admiral that was enough.

"Gah!" Gin gave into his own weight, from all the wounds.

"Gin!" Usopp said, running to him, helping his friend while he kept an eye on Onigumo's location. Usopp immediately shrunk the swords and pulled them out of Gin's body, before taking the swords for himself. He didn't want Onigumo to take the swords back. And if he threw them away, there was a possibility they would be found.

Seeing both of the Straw Hat pirates getting cornered, Onigumo smiled sadistically, "Finally… some fucking progress!"

With that Onigumo charged in for the kill. He advanced, swords swinging, each strike aimed to kill. Gin even with his wounds pushed Usopp back, ready to intercept. While Usopp fell back, sniping from a distance.

This time Onigumo went for Usopp, but Gin didn't let him. The pirate fired off more spinning air hammer attacks, sending them at the blade user, keeping the pressure on Onigumo. The Vice Admiral slashed through them, though a few blows landed, staggering him.

Onigumo spat out blood, hatefully glaring at Gin, as he cut through his strikes, 'I won't be able to fight for long… but killing them should destroy the others' morals. Their captain is still in Marineford, if I can just inform anyone…' while the Vice Admiral pondered over what to do, he finally saw an opening.

But he wasn't the only one that was slowing down, Gin was also a lot slower than before and his opponent took the opportunity.

"Enough!" Onigumo said, with having only two swords. His spider-like arms on his back shifted into spider legs. Giving him extra leg power to use Geppo and Soru, which he used to evade Gin's assaults. Before Gin could react, Onigumo appeared behind him, fangs poised to inject venom.

"Gah!" Gin roared, back-handing Onigumo, but he was already affected.

Mid-air Onigumo gripped his blades and intended to finish off Gin, but at the last second multiple sea stone shots along with explosive ones, crashed into him, exploding into black smoke, which hindered his vision a bit.

One of the projectiles was also a flash dial, so all of Onigumo's eyes and ears were ringing. Onigumo roared, clearing out his view only to see the silhouette of Usopp aiming both of his hands at him.

"Impact ROKUGAN!"

Twin shockwaves erupted from his palms, visible as rippling distortions in the air. Moving at hypersonic speeds, they tore through Onigumo's defenses before he could react. The devastating impacts slammed into his body like a meteor strike.

Onigumo's blades were blown back as he folded around due to the powerful blows. The wind was knocked from his lungs with explosive force as the shockwaves reverberated through his body, throwing him back from assaulting Gin.

Then the energy released, catapulting Onigumo away like a rag doll caught in a tornado. He rocketed through buildings and stone walls, leaving crushed masonry in his wake. With a final bone-jarring crash, the Vice Admiral was embedded deep in the rubble, throwing off a dust cloud.

But even with that Usopp knew that it wouldn't keep the Vice Admiral down for long. Usopp quickly helped Gin up, who had returned to his human form, even keeping up his zoan form was exhausting.

"Gin you have to retreat… we can't fight like this."

Gin shook his head, trying to walk forward only to drop on his knee as his strength faded. "I… I can still fight."

"No!" Usopp gritted his teeth, "Damn it! Gin trust me… you will die like this. Trust me… I might have a way to beat him."

Gin wanted to refuse but the moment he looked into Usopp's eyes, he could see the determination of a warrior. With great reluctance, he nodded.

A furious roar shattered the tense silence. Onigumo burst forth getting out of the rubble just as expected, veins bulging and teeth bared in a vengeful snarl, his webbed clothes destroyed due to Usopp's attacks, making him look like a savage spider more than anything.

"This is the last time, I will fall for your tricks!" Onigumo roared.

"You said that last time!" Usopp shot back, earning another roar from the Vice Admiral as he charged.

His swords glinted with lethal intent, turning volcanic black due to armament as he charged the weakened pirates.

With barely a moment to react, Usopp seized Gin and triggered his power. The world ballooned around them as they shrank insistently. Onigumo's deadly blades cleaved only air as the pirates dodged certain death by a hair's breadth.
