Chapter 4 - Golden Palace

Silent took place in the room, it was quiet to the point of breathing could be here.

The curtains swaying gently as a the warm breeze passed through, and sunlight steamed through the windows, casting the delicate shadow of curtains across the room.

As the shadow of curtains landed on Marcus features did he snapped back to his sense.

He couldn't help but said, "Even it was just an blink of the show, it's still leave me amazed."

He didn't even know what magic looks like nor it's effect.

He only understands of magic through novels he read. And professor preaching.

But the scene just now leave him stunned, it was completely different from what he had imagined.

"Base on my understanding, this is not magic, but an projection." Lilian explained.

Without waiting for them to asked, she continues, "Projection is also magic, but it mainly used to locate, transmit voice, and observe the scene through the Projection itself."

Symbol can be used in many ways, Projection is one of them. It involves drawing the corresponding symbol and chanting the corresponding name, which then connects to the owner of symbol through the void.

"That's why it's only lasted for a second and fade away." James said with disappointing.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

A sharp knocking sound echoing through the room, sending the breeze of fright over the three of them.

A sudden noise leaves them momentarily froze on the place, unable to come up with any thoughts, they hurriedly gather their scattered thoughts and cleaned up room.

After hiding the piece of paper that have symbol on it, Lilian nodded to Marcus, to open the door.

Upon seeing this, Marcus returned and exchanged looks with James to seek out confirmation.

After confirmed everything, he twist the handle.

The door opened, and standing behind it was a servant. She wore a white cotton shirt, simple vest, long black skirt, and plain black boots. Faint wrinkles lined on her face. Hinting that she had years of experience and care. She was none other than Marcus's personal servant, Bella.

"Ohh... What a coincidence, I was planning

to looking for you, but now you've already shown up." Bella said, and a warm smile spreading across her face.

Upon seeing that the person behind the door was Bella, he couldn't help but sigh in relief.

James and Lillian relaxed upon seeing that the person who had knocked on the door was Marcus personal servant, Bella.

"Phew...You scared me to death! why did you suddenly looking for me?" Marcus asked, his voice filled with doubt.

Normally, Bella didn't bother looked for him after The class ended. She would only appear if the "lord" personally summoned Marcus or if Rosalie specifically wants to meet her son.

The "Lord" that Bella specifically mentioned is refers to the lord of the First Area. None other than Marcus's father, Maverick Atraxia.

"Miss Rosalie wants to meet you," She replied lightly.

"Mother look for me?" James blurted out.

Just a few hour ago, His father had summoned him, and now his mother wanted to meet him as well. It was extremely rare for Marcus to have been called by both of his parents on the same day.

"Why dose mother want to meet me?" Marcus asked.

"I don't know either, but Miss Rosalie had said that she wants you to teach someone."

"Teach someone?" Marcus seems to though of something, suddenly a smile flashes across his face.

His nodded to Bella, "Alright, I'll go, but I need to take my things first."

He turned around and looked at the spot on the floor where he had been sitting earlier. The book is laying there.

He unhurried pick it up, and bid James and Lilian farewell.

Before he closing the door, he cast one last, lingering looks at the two of them.

After Marcus gone, James couldn't help but lampoon, "what's up with that gaze just now...?"

Before he could finish his sentence, he suddenly felt a chill run down his spine, as if sensing a murderous intent lurking nearby.

He suddenly froze, then glanced down at his left hand, black sticky liquid was smeared across his palm, slowly dripping to red carpet below.

He turned his head slowly, as his eyes met the figure standing behind him, a person with sharp red hair that swayed gently in the warm breeze. In that instant, the air room in room seems to thicken in some point in time, and the atmosphere grew tense and hot, like a molten lava ready to erupt at any moment.

"I..it was a coincidence, I.. didn't intend to make ink drip," he murmured in trembling tone, sweat forming on his forehead and dripping down like tiny beads of water.

Outside the room, as the attendant quietly walked passed, the scream of human echoed from the room No. 122, causing anyone who passed by jump in fright.

It was break time, so the corridor now is filled with members of Atraxia, moving, and chatting. Complete opposite to the quite mornings, the halls and corridors lay empty and silent.

Along the corridor, Marcus and his personal servant Bella, walked steadily on hallways, along the way, the soft murmur of members chatting drifting through the air like hushed whispers, and many of them stole mocking glances at Marcus as they whispered to one another.

Some of them whispered among the crowd "Look at him...he's the son of the lord, yet he's good for nothing."

"If it were me, I might have already became the pride of first Area."

"He doesn't seem to know or care about anything, besides wasting all his time on novels."

...

After hearing mocking murmur from other, Marcus couldn't help but lower his head. A faint bitterness welled up inside him, Disappointment was clearly written across he face, as he silently walked beside Bella.

As they walked, The mocking murmurs suddenly grew louder and louder in Marcus's ears; echoing like thunder. It was as every whisper was blamed him for being, born as the lord's son, yet turning out to be nothing more than trash.

His footsteps gradually came to a halt, the mocking murmurs keep echoing in his ears like a drum begin beat by wooden hammers. It felt was as though the corridor around him had vanished, and he now stood surrounded by countless people staring at him with mocking eyes.

He couldn't help but covered his ears, but the sound of mocking could be hear. He eyes closed. Fear and loss flashed across his face.

He was on the verge of breaking down when a slightly pale hand suddenly gripped his shoulder, snapping him back to reality, the mocking crowd that had surrounded had vanished instantly, replaced once more the corridor.

The owner of the hand is none other than Bella, his personal servant, she looked at Marcus with loving gaze and said softly, "Don't worry, at least you still have me, who see you as the Lord's son, the pride of family."

Her tone is warm and tranquil, making anyone who hears it feel like they have gone back to a mother's embrace.

Her voice is like that of angela for Marcus; the heavy feeling from before is gone, but the disappointment is still lingered in his chest, he lower his head slightly and mutters in soft voice, "but I'm really like trash, as they say..."

His voice suddenly cut off by Bella, "You're not trash, did you remember the sentence on the book that I usually read to you before sleeping?"

Without need Marcus to respond she continued, "If someone blame you for your mistakes, calls you useless, or a burden then all you can do is strive to fix what they blame. but if you start blaming yourself for being useless and a burden, then you've already made yourself worth no more than dust."

Marcus didn't fully understand what Bella had said, but he knew that her words come from the novel he liked the most called "The Fallen hero"

"Yes, the superhero in that novel is really cool! he's always blamed by other, but he still keeps moving forward, beat every monster he meets and saving the world from calamity." Marcus said with an excited expression, the feeling of disappointment from before had vanished.

Bella looks at Marcus, revealing a blooming smile, and continue walking toward The golden palace.

The Golden Palace was where Rosalie and Maverick usually stayed, a grand and peaceful place of relaxation and quiet, at night, the palace became even more beautiful, glowing softly under the moon light and radianting an almost magical serenity.

This was a tranquil place for watching the vast sky, observing the glowing moon, spotting fallen star streaking across the night, and creating painting inspired by beauty around them.

After walking for a while, a large wooden door appeared in front of them, it's hight was about the same as three man stacked together. the door was brown, adorned with intricate symbols, and above it is a golden plague with words "Golden Palace" engraved in shimmering gold.

The door is ajar. Bella bowed to Marcus and she said softly, "Miss Rosalie is waiting inside."

Normally Bella would have addressed Rosalie as "Queen," but Rosalie had instructed her to called her "miss" instead.

After watching Bella leaving, Marcus walk Inside.

Inside the door, is an grand hall, with a faintly glowing golden palace at its center, above the place stretched a vast sky, and the palace was surrounded by ink, the ink is mixed colours some spots black, other blue, creating a vibrant, colourful scene. The path leading to palace was filled with paintings, portraits, and other works of art; some rested on ground, while other floated gradually in mid-air. It was truly grand and magical place.

At the center of palace stood an elegant lady with flowing blonde hair that shimmering in light. she wore a long, graceful white dress and pristine white glove, she gave of feelings of warmth and poise. She was none other than Rosalie, Marcus's mother.

In front of her was a painting. Which she seemed to have just finished a moment ago, the stroke still fresh and vibrant.

On the painting was a girl with flowing blonde hair, dressed in a crisp white shirt with wide sleeves, and black skirt, paired with brown leather boots. She held a book gently in her hands, a warm, lovely smile blooming on her face, giving her an aura of charm and serenity.

If you looked closely the girl in the painting looked really similar to the woman who had painted her.
