Chapter 1: A Streamer's Double-Double
In August 2022, during the League of Legends Summer Split, a video of a popular streamer named Will circulated online.
"Our jungler, Ekko, tried to gank the bottom lane, but the enemy jungler, Warwick, never showed up. If it were me, I wouldn't hesitate to invade his jungle."
"As a mid laner focused on the team, I have to help my jungler defend the red side."
Will, who was controlling the iconic Rumble, scanned the minimap, sensed the approximate position of the enemy jungler, and explained the situation to his viewers.
After clearing his minion wave in the middle lane, he turned into the jungle and went deep into his red side without hesitation.
Viewers who were just joining the stream at that moment felt deeply moved. Junglers, in particular, felt a warmth in their hearts and couldn't help but think, 'True love exists everywhere.'
"I'm about to cry, guys. This mid laner is a true hero. He's a defender of the jungle!"
"Is Ekko going to name his firstborn after this guy?"
"You don't find mid laners like this nowadays. This is pure love, for real."
However, they were moved too soon. The next scene would make them cry again!
Will, in his mechanical Rumble, went into the jungle and headed straight for the Raptors. He activated his abilities and annihilated all six "chickens."
The new viewers were stunned. 'Didn't he say he was a team player?' 'Wasn't he going to help the jungler defend?' 'This is what he calls defending?' 'Isn't he stealing from his own team?'
"I just came in and I see the streamer killing monsters. Our jungler is going to miss out on a lot of gold!"
"Hahahaha, did anyone actually believe the streamer was going to defend?"
"That's not Rumble, that's Vladimir!"
"Can someone tell me when Vladimir's Q started shooting fire?"
"This is inhuman! You're only level 5 and you're already farming the jungle! Stop it!"
While the new viewers were surprised, the veterans could already guess what was happening.
However, they only joked and played with the memes, without criticizing Will in the comments. It seemed that stealing monsters was a common occurrence on his stream.
[???]
At that moment, Ekko, who had failed to gank the bottom lane and was returning to the jungle, saw his mid laner Rumble farming the Raptors and couldn't help but type three question marks.
To this, Will responded with a single word:
"Warwick."
"The enemy Warwick will definitely come during this wave. Instead of letting him steal the Raptors, it's better if I take them myself."
After taking the Raptors, Will, with his Rumble, happily returned to his middle lane.
Meanwhile, his opponent, Viktor, had already gone back to base. This gave him the opportunity to push a little further.
"Yeah, right, streamer, are you being sensible?"
"He stole the jungle and he's still making excuses!"
"First we had Jarvan and Graves stealing minions from the jungle, and now a streamer with a Rumble stealing monsters. How scary!"
Will ignored the skeptics. He knew they would soon become true fans of his stream. It had always been this way.
Shortly after Rumble left, Warwick appeared, passing by the ward Will had placed in the river and heading to the Raptors' location.
However, Warwick only took a quick look at the spot and left quickly, without going any further.
"See? Warwick was definitely going to come to steal my jungle monsters. If I hadn't killed that group of Raptors earlier, making him think the jungle was clear, Warwick would not only have taken them, but he would have stolen the entire red side."
After all, Ekko was still in the bottom half of the jungle, and Will's Rumble had already recalled to base. There was no one to stop Warwick's invasion.
Will took a sip of water and continued: "Now Warwick has wasted a wave of time in the jungle, which, in the end, is like Ekko gaining a wave of time. Look, Ekko got ahead of the opponent without doing anything, and I got an extra group of Raptors. Everyone wins!"
Clearly, it was Ekko who lost the Raptors, and Ekko didn't gain anything, but in Will's words, everyone won!
It didn't sound very human, but somehow... it seemed to make some sense.
"Isn't winning the minion wave and the jungle monsters the only situation where everyone wins?"
"To be clear, when the streamer says 'win-win,' he means he wins twice."
"This mid laner is a little kind, but not by much."
Thanks to the extra experience from the Raptors and Viktor having lost many minions, Will's Rumble reached level 6 earlier. Viktor wasn't a fool either. Seeing that Will's Rumble hit level 6, he retreated to a safe position.
After clearing the minion wave in the middle lane, Will saw that Viktor was playing cautiously and wasn't giving him any opportunity to kill him, so he rotated to the top lane.
Since he had bought boots of mobility, he could move quickly. He could support a wave and then return to the middle lane without losing much.
"Not many mid laners buy boots so quickly. If you see one, run!" said Will as he arrived at the river bush in the top half of the area.
The enemy top laner, Aatrox, didn't notice and was still pushing aggressively, even using his Q-E combo to interrupt the last hit of Sejuani, Will's team's top laner, a truly arrogant move.
Seeing that Aatrox had already used his key displacement abilities and two phases of his Q, The Darkin Blade, and that Sejuani had already warned him that Aatrox didn't have his summoner spell, Flash, it was the perfect time for Will to attack.
However, Will's Rumble remained in the bush. He waited, controlling his temperature, as if waiting for the perfect moment.
"Aatrox doesn't have Flash or E, and the streamer still doesn't dare to go in?"
"Come on! Dammit! It's making me nervous to watch! Aatrox has no abilities!"
"What a shame! If he goes in this wave, Aatrox will be dead."
"No, seriously! With this level of awareness, does he still have the audacity to be a streamer?"
Although many comments questioned Will's actions, it was because they were new viewers. The veterans had already seen it all.
Suddenly, Will's Rumble moved in the bush. He activated his W, Scrap Shield, to dash out of the bush at full speed.
While carefully controlling his temperature, he used his ultimate, The Equalizer, to land precisely under Aatrox's feet, covering all the minions! Including the wave that had just arrived, a total of two waves!
Then he activated his Q, Flamethrower, and began to shake his head wildly, burning both Aatrox and the minions. His E, Electro Harpoons, caught the cannon minion with even more precision.
