Chapter 44 - Principals

Like clockwork, the event began with the kids scared of Scott and the doc as they danced in the background for the main event. The cold gaze of Scott made them dance so well that a smooth criminal would yell in jealousy at them.

"Hello there."

"Hi."

Lia had seen the people around her and felt off. It was obvious that Scott had done something. He was a trickster. She was somewhat scared of her teacher ever since she got into a standoff with him. Without any of the memories with her, he would've happily disemboweled her. He'd done it before and with some encouragement, opt to kill her.

"What did you do?"

"Nothing too bad."

"What did you do?"

"It was his idea."

Scott playfully pointed at Dr. John before the bad doctor had grabbed the literal man child and began shaking him.

"Hey! I covered for you whilst you picked them up you self-righteous bastard!"

As if he had done it before, the little person grabbed onto the doc's left index finger and twisted it until he had placed the bone in a spot that made it appear as if he was backwards.

"You can call me many things, but self-righteous is one thing that will never be true."

Say what you will about Scott, but he was a man of faith. He had deep love for his God whilst on the other hand, he broke Catholic law every day of his life for a longer time than most deities. He believed self-righteousness as a way of sin that was too far.

"If you mess this up, we'll leave you here."

"Fine. I'll hang back but don't think about ditching through the bathroom window."

"Alright."

"Fine."

"Fine."

"Fine."

Sugar had been about to arrive when BB stopped him at the entrance. His white hair was tied back and at the beginning of it looked like he was regrowing his former black hair that could have easily made him mistaken for a bit of night sky.

"I would like to talk to you for a moment as I must."

"Go on ahead."

"Well, why won't you remember these things for a little bit."

"Go ahead."

"Come on, just... my God, this is hard to say."

"Tell me!"

"Okay, okay, I just need to say this to you, my father wasn't there for me when I was growing up. He constantly told me I wasn't good enough. A few days before he died, he beat me senseless. That night, I also discovered he was proud of me. He was so proud of me that he used me to shadow my little brother. He never told me any nice thing to my face in his life. When I ran away, the man with everything gave me nothing. Then, I guess I still wanted his love. He was the best detective, so I killed thirteen people. He knew it was me, he just couldn't prove it. I love you, Sugar. You're my son. I know I'm not perfect. But that's okay and that's all that matters"

Tears came in the old man's eyes. He never wanted to compare himself to the man known as Dials ever again.

"I love you too, BB."

Both of them had some tears. Nothing could stop how it felt.

"Where in the world were you?"

"I had business to attend to. Now where's the floor?"

"Down the hall and to the left. Just make sure to have fun. If you get hungry or thirsty, just ask. If you want to go somewhere, we have a limo outside."

"A limo?"

"Yeah, it's from a different time. This time."

Scott gave this briefing whilst removing creases from the black suit and handing him pig themed cufflinks.

"Why do I have to wear these?"

"Well, you wear them or I break your nose."
