Some may consider Sugar's actions to be inconsiderate. But the same may be said for Lia's. She tried to comfort him whilst he was extremely emotionally unstable.
"What's going on with you?"
Dr. John walked onto the scene like he was planning on this. In actuality, he stole large sums of food for the occasion but none of his guests ate even though he spent four hours cooking. So, he planned on eating as much food as possible so as to not make it go to waste.
"He left."
"Alright. You want salmon?"
Like a weirdo, he tossed the fish at her whilst she sat in a crouching position to cry. It bounced off the side of her head before the doctor awkwardly made his way to the door.
"Come on, Scott. Save him."
The reason that Scott hadn't decided to do the metaphysical crash was because of the fact that it was extremely dangerous. For someone in the medical field, it would be the same as performing open brain surgery on the residing country's leader whilst a circus happened all around you. Scott, just so happened to thrive on chaos as he saw all of Sugar's hopes, dreams, and thoughts attacked him in defense of what they thought was the entity known as Sugar despite him being a parasite.
"You won't kill him. I'll make sure of it."
"Kill him? I don't want that. This boy's body shall become my puppet. He shall become my second coming and make me anew."
Whilst the hordes of creatures tried to attack Scott, he used his mind abilities to hold them off or at least place them in a passive state until his showdown with the monster was complete.
"I'm going to beat you to death; just thought you should know."
Shortly after the few beasts were sent away, Sott began to engage in hand-to-hand combat with this creature. After some back and forth where Scott was winning by a mile, Lighter ran away.
"I'm not that much of a fighter, you know? Fix this place up and get out of this mind, forever."
Like that, Scott was forced out. Now, nobody could get in and save Sugar. His fate was sealed, and it was far more certain than anyone could've ever guessed.
"Scott, Scott! What happened?"
Like that, he had been brought back to reality by BB. He felt the hurt in Scott and knew that it was too much. All of a sudden, he was brought back from the world beyond as fast as he could. BB immediately knew that this was a message.
"I can't go back."
"What do you mean you can't go back?"
Sugar shortly afterwards came to, but he had a horrible headache.
