Chapter 8 - Chapter 7: Mysterious Past

 Agatha

"Isn't this nice? We never had a view like this." I nodded and admired the scenery in front of me.

The sun was shining brighter, and the sky was painted like an art with the color combination of red, yellow, and the shade of the clouds that looked like a pillow. I looked down through the mountain peak, and the trees were splashed with orange from the sky's light.

"It's also why I escaped, so that I can enjoy my eternal life. I don't even know why I'm one of the originals." I pressed my temple before crossing my arms with a sigh.

I saw her through my peripheral vision, staring at me, so I locked our gaze.

"I noticed you were staring at the boy beside you. It's surprising to see you seemingly interested in someone when back in the days you barely took notice of everyone in sight, as if there was a wall around you." I smirked at her before looking back up at the sky.

"Well..let's just say I didn't compel anymore, I grew tired of it. I can only use it if necessary." She plastered a smile on her face at my sincere tone.

I scanned her eyes, looking where she was squinting, so I followed the direction of her gaze.

She was looking at a bear down the mountain, and I could already tell she was hungry for its blood. "Go on. I'm heading home anyway. Enjoy yourself." The color drained out of her face when she heard me.

"Already? Come on, let's have fun." She looked at me with puppy eyes, which made me scoff. I crossed my arms and sighed, letting her beg win.

"Let's stay for an hour here, then." I sat on the grass beside her and hugged her knees while her eyes remained up in the sky.

"So..are you planning to go back to the dark lands?" I sighed at her question.

"I don't know, Kalisia. Maybe I won't because I killed them. I'm just hoping no one would retrieve their bodies."

"You didn't think to bury them first before you escaped here?" I scoffed at her question, causing her to turn her gaze at me.

You don't know my reason...

"I was rushing things; I didn't have enough time to think of burying them." She nodded at my lie and stood up.

"We should part ways now. I still have something to do." My brows furrowed at her words.

"Preying on someone, I see." I heard her chuckle before she disappeared, and my eyes examined the spot she was sitting on earlier.

I teleported to my house and immediately went to my bedroom while holding my phone.

 Kalisia

I rolled my eyes at the sight before me. I walked through the hallway filled with guards with a scrutinizing gaze as usual; nonetheless, I'm used to it.

I opened a door in one of the halls, but what welcomed me was a dagger thrown at me and embedded in the door near my head.

"Took you long enough, Kalisia." I heard my boss's frustration through her words.

I looked around, and as usual, they were still in the process of making any magic shit potions available.

"I got in contact with your favorite. She was too interesting not to talk to." My boss's gaze fixated on me with a raised brow while she was still holding an ancient book she required me to find from a deep cave somewhere in this realm.

"Tell me." Her tone calmed down, so I walked over to a golden, sparkly couch beside a bookshelf to sit down.

"Well, she found someone, a boy who she seems attached to." I heard her faint scoff.

"Get out of my sight if that's the only thing you got informed of." I rolled my eyes at her response before leaving her alone.

 Alexander

I collapsed onto the bed, my palms clamping over my face as everything caught up with me.

"Ughh, why am I being like this?" I let out a long breath to calm myself.

I was about to close my eyes when I suddenly heard a doorbell downstairs.

Are they back? But Mom said they would be gone for 2 months to work abroad...

I opened my bedroom door and flicked the hallway light while walking downstairs.

I gulped as I felt an unexplainable gut feeling combined with my heartbeat beating like it wants to come out of my chest.

I heard a wolf's howl in the distance which only added to my anxiousness and the next thing I knew, I was infront of the door.

"Come on, Alex. Stop being a coward." I whispered to myself before opening the door, but only the cold air greeted me.

I looked around.

Maybe just some kids door dashing me..

I sighed of relief as I close my door and turned off the remaining lights in the living room and kitchen before walking up the stairs.

As soon as I reached the second floor of the house, I decided not to close the hallway lights as it kind of creeps me out when I have to use the bathroom in the middle of the night.

I opened my bedroom door and my brows raised in confusion.

Did I close the lights in my room earlier?

I noticed my room getting colder causing me to look at the balcony and my eyes widen as my heart beat faster.

I stepped back and my back hit against the door when I saw a glowing eyes in the dark corner of my wall beside the balcony.

It slowly stepped out of the shadow,my breath nearly stopped when I processed its figure.

How did a wolf enter through my balcony?

I stopped breathing and immediately ran to my bedside table to grab the cutter and I jumped on the bed while aiming the cutter at the wolf looking straight onto my eyes.

It growled as it stares at the cutter I'm holding and its saliva drips down the floor causing me to be more nervous and shaking.
