Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: You are too weak, so add some more first!

Lu Luo ran back to the 12th floor. The corpses of the Mechanical Shark and the Seaweed were still there. The strange sounds from downstairs were no longer audible; the monster didn't seem to have followed him.

He squatted in front of the Mechanical Shark, wanting to see if he could salvage some iron parts from its mechanical arms and metal legs to use as a weapon.

"You have successfully killed 2 Xenomorph, but there is no reward. However, their corpses are already the best reward. Enjoy them."

"Enjoy? Do you mean eat them?"

"Experience the effects of S-02 Devourer. Although I feel it doesn't live up to its name when placed with me, you humans seem to rate it quite highly."

Devourer... Lu Luo paused. He focused his attention and once again brought up his attribute panel.

The most obvious change was in his talent sequence.

Sequence S-02 - Devourer: LV1

Effect 1 - Devour: Devours energy matter.

"Devourer LV2: 500 energy + Constitution 10 + Sequence Value 20 + Devour 1/30 energy matter"

Sequence S-04 - Fuser: LV1

Effect 1 - Fuse: Fuses items.

Effect 2 - Alter: Alters items.

"Fuser LV2: 500 energy + Tier 1 profession + Sequence Value 20 + 50 grams of Dark Spirit Stone"

Sequence S-11 - Observer: LV1

Effect 1 - Information: Provides hints.

"Observer LV2: 500 energy + Tier 1 profession + Sequence Value 10 + Brighteye Grass + Eyeball of an avian Xenomorph + 30 grams of Dark Spirit Stone."

"Good." Lu Luo clenched his fists, feeling a surge of excitement.

All three talents displayed their abilities and information. Although the information was a bit brief, he had already witnessed the power of Observer and Fuser.

The Observer's information hints allowed him to anticipate danger and plan his actions. The Fuser could even directly create and alter the form of items.

Both of these talent sequences had the potential to turn the tide of battle; they were incredibly overpowered. Calling them S-rank talents was no exaggeration.

Moreover, all three talents now provided clear directions for leveling up, giving him a definite path forward.

Lu Luo looked at the only talent sequence he hadn't used yet.

"Devourer, don't disappoint me!"

His energy value, which was originally 134, was now only 12 after three fusion creations.

Lu Luo sensed the inexplicable connection with the talent sequences and actively tried to understand how to use Devourer.

As his consciousness connected with the Devourer sequence, an intense hunger spread throughout his body. Lu Luo felt something break through the skin of his fingertips.

It was a very thin, black thread. This black thread was almost invisible unless one looked closely, because the light around it seemed much dimmer.

The black thread pierced into the Seaweed's corpse, and an unknown energy flowed into Lu Luo's body along the thread. The feeling of hunger gradually disappeared.

The Seaweed began to wither and decay, and his remaining energy value gradually increased from 12 to 26.

"Only 14 points of energy? It took 100 points to make a knife earlier, and that knife would cost at most 5 yuan outside. This doesn't seem right, does it?"

"How can you have such a shallow thought? Do you think it's easy to instantly create an item? No culture, no fear."

Lu Luo was still a bit speechless that it cost 100 points to make a crude knife, but thinking about it, it made sense. The ability to create items was simply too absurd.

If he truly had unlimited energy and the Fuser could really manifest anything he wished, could he create a nuclear bomb or something?

"Stop these foolish thoughts. Not to mention the Fuser level required for advanced items, such weapons would undoubtedly require a lot of energy, which you don't have.

Imagination cannot change the fact that you are currently a pauper. Face the cruel reality, young man."

"Alright, I was just thinking."

According to the history of this world, gunpowder weapons had already become extinct after the Sentient Machine Crisis. Later, it went through two more eras: the Dark Energy Invasion and the Xenomorph Crisis.

Gunpowder weapons and nuclear bombs were long gone, so bringing them up now was indeed too far-fetched.

After "eating" the Seaweed, Lu Luo walked to the Mechanical Shark and began the second round of devouring.

What shocked him was that the metallic mechanical parts of the Mechanical Shark also gradually began to corrode and rust under the devouring of the black thread, turning into a pile of iron slag.

"Metal can also be devoured?"

"Dark energy can aberrate all matter, including human sequences, the Xenomorph ification of other objects, and the birth of sentient machines, which is a continuation of the Sentient Machine Crisis.

The metal on them is all Xenomorph metal infused with dark energy, fundamentally different from normal metal. To put it simply and directly, it's the difference between living metal and dead metal."

"Living metal!"

The Mechanical Shark's corpse withered at a visible speed until Lu Luo absorbed all its energy. The Mechanical Shark's body and metal dissipated like burnt ashes.

The Mechanical Shark's energy was significantly more than the Seaweed's, bringing Lu Luo's total energy to 76 points, an increase of 50.

"It feels very comfortable. Is this process secreting a lot of dopamine?"

"Don't bother with those irrelevant things. The noble S-rank sequence – Observer will never tell you that you should be allocating your points now."

"Allocate points..."

Lu Luo automatically ignored the previous information prompts and focused his attention on his personal attributes and remaining energy points.

He had already seen the ↑ symbol next to each attribute, indicating that they could be increased. What a simple and direct function.

After a brief thought about the concept of attributes, Strength likely affects damage, Agility is speed, and Constitution is HP or defense?

So, currently, damage can be compensated by weapons, and Constitution can increase fault tolerance but won't bring substantial changes. Therefore, the attribute that provides the greatest improvement is undoubtedly Agility.

Lu Luo focused his attention on the ↑ next to Agility.

"1.2, 1.3, 1.4..."

Agility began to steadily increase, consuming 2 energy points for every 0.1 increase. This process wasn't slow, but it took 2-3 minutes. By the time it reached 2.0, Lu Luo had used a total of 18 energy points.

"Energy actually increases by so much? Then why did I spend 100 energy to make a knife just now? Wouldn't directly adding points have crushed the Seaweed?"

"It's as if you would have survived without making that knife just now. Would the Xenomorph stand there and wait for you to finish allocating points before fighting?

Do you think this is a turn-based game? I originally thought you were a smart person, but now you're so stupid it suffocates me. If I could change hosts, I would have advised you to start over long ago."

Alright, that makes some sense. If it weren't for the emergency, he probably wouldn't have synthesized that knife.

After 2.0, Agility required 3 energy points to increase by 0.1. Lu Luo didn't hesitate and continued to spend 30 points to raise it to 3.0.

Then he used 18 of the remaining energy points to raise Constitution to 2.0, keeping 10 points for temporary use by the Fuser.
