Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Your gaze stayed for 371 seconds

"The hair monster's domain has vanished!" Gu Fangyi affirmed.

"I'll go check it out. Gu Fangyi, provide backup."

"Alright." Gu Fangyi nodded. He was out of bullets, so he could only pick up a javelin and, with great difficulty, stand up and follow behind Lu Luo.

Gu Fangyi was injured, Chu Qi was an actress, and the other two were useless. In this situation, Lu Luo could only handle it himself.

His strength had increased again, and with the Observer's recent prompts, Lu Luo no longer feared the threats in the exhibition hall.

His powerful and comprehensive physical attributes made his fighting style even more perfect. If he were to face the Abomination again now, he was confident he could kill it alone.

If it weren't for the ridiculously powerful Sleeping Witch in the stairwell, he might even have considered hunting other Xenomorph.

Just as Lu Luo reached the stairwell, the Sleeping Witch, covered in wounds, was twisting her body and rapidly slithering upwards. Upon encountering Lu Luo, she immediately stopped.

The atmosphere was somewhat oppressive; a battle between humans and Xenomorph could erupt at any moment.

The Sleeping Witch clutched her stomach, her exposed limbs covered in numerous explosive wounds, indicating she had suffered severe damage from some unknown attack.

However, a starving camel is still bigger than a horse. She was, after all, a Tier 3 Xenomorph, and even severely injured, she still possessed powerful combat ability.

The Sleeping Witch knew her injuries couldn't be delayed any longer, and moreover, the powerful Rudy was coming upstairs, so she had to get past Lu Luo.

With that thought, she moved, her hair transforming into sharp steel needles, stabbing rapidly at Lu Luo.

Lu Luo immediately gripped his knife handle and swung it quickly, trying his best to block the hair attacks.

These hairs were as hard as steel, emitting a "clanging" sound when they struck the machete.

[Generally, monsters that cover their faces with hair are very ugly. I'm guessing she has maggots on her face, do you believe me?]

"I'm in a fight. You're so boring."

Lu Luo blocked some attacks while enduring others, moving forward. The Sleeping Witch's attacks were too dense; he needed to get closer, just a little closer, to have a chance to counterattack.

The Sleeping Witch's hair almost completely obscured Lu Luo's vision. In such a situation, he couldn't possibly counterattack.

But then, the hair suddenly stopped attacking. As Lu Luo was wondering why, the Sleeping Witch had already raised her head, revealing the face she had always hidden beneath her hair, and her naked, scarred body, to Lu Luo.

[Ah! She doesn't have maggots on her face. This time, I lose.]

"Qin Wanyu?"

Although Lu Luo was surprised, his actions didn't falter in the slightest. This was the moment to kill his 'sister' to prove his Dao. The blade flashed, and the re-sharpened machete grazed Qin Wanyu's neck, leaving a trail of blood.

Qin Wanyu quickly pushed Lu Luo away with her hair, then raised her hand at him.

"Da~ Da!"

[She said wait. Why does every Xenomorph want to talk to you? What is it about you that attracts them?]

Lu Luo was silent for a moment: "Probably because I'm handsome."

This human-like action surprised Lu Luo even more. Did Qin Wanyu still retain her sanity? What did she want to tell him?

[Your gaze has lingered on her chest for 3.71 seconds. Pausing for 3.71 seconds in combat is a suicidal act, so I have reason to judge you as a pervert. Still looking? Not even sparing the Xenomorph? Please, be a human!]

Qin Wanyu struggled to open her mouth, as if trying to say something to him.

"Ke~ Hai~ Lei!"

Qin Wanyu, who had become an Xenomorph, spoke with great difficulty, barely uttering three syllables to Lu Luo, then slipped past him.

Lu Luo ultimately gave up the idea of fighting Qin Wanyu. He didn't have many memories of women, and Qin Wanyu's image was almost synonymous with beauty.

"She really is a very pretty girl. Perhaps my former self liked her too."

The others who followed simply couldn't understand what Qin Wanyu said; only the Observer could translate the Xenomorph's information.

[It, not she. It's no longer human. Don't subconsciously categorize it as female just because it looks good and has large breasts.

Also, who is Song Hana? It sounds like a woman's name. Have you remembered who this person is?]

Lu Luo didn't have many people he remembered. His former self had always been busy with studies, so there was only one person named Song Hana.

That was the director of Blue sky Pharmaceutical, the founder of the Blue sky Red Bottle project, and the sponsor of their scholarship program—Song Hana.

"So, this matter really is related to Blue sky Pharmaceutical? Are we really guinea pigs?"

Just as Lu Luo was pondering, a somewhat lazy voice came from the stairwell.

"Hey, I just saw you talking to a Tier 3 humanoid Xenomorph? Human-monster collusion? You're very suspicious, young man!"

Rudy's appearance was terrible: messy hair, scruffy stubble, a somewhat worn demon hunter uniform. In summary, two words: sloppy.

[Here he comes, here he comes! A powerful human expert. I don't know what tier he is yet, but he's definitely strong.

Clearly, you've found a strong ally. Hold on tight! Also, I bet you 1 yuan that this guy hasn't washed his hair in at least 10 days.]

[Also, the hair he's holding is the Sleeping Witch's. You already missed that female Xenomorph. If you want to synthesize the Blade of Grudges, you'll have to put in some effort.]

The information was extensive, but Lu Luo maintained his composure.

"Who are you?"

"I am Rudy, captain of Wasteland Hunter Team 13. I now declare that you are a major suspect in an Xenomorph incident. You'd best cooperate with my investigation, otherwise, I'll have to take you back to the Security Bureau."

Once you become a hunter, you learn to frame people. First, you frame them, then you scare them, and most people will confess.

The question is, would Lu Luo be afraid of such framing and scare tactics? Obviously not.

How can you be an undercover agent if you're timid? He was a ten-year veteran undercover agent. Being sarcastic, using the 'strength in numbers' defense, and changing the subject were all second nature to him.

Lu Luo grabbed Zhou Kai beside him and pointed to their wounds, saying:

"Do you see the wounds on our bodies? We were just fighting Xenomorph. We've shed blood for the Alliance, you can't treat us like this!"

Lu Luo was good at stirring emotions. Sure enough, Little Kai immediately got worked up.

"That's right, we've shed blood for the Alliance, we killed the Xenomorph. You can't treat us like this."

It wasn't just Kai; Gu Fangyi and Wang Zheng's expressions were also grim. Although Lu Luo's expression and voice were a bit exaggerated, he was speaking the truth.

Rudy looked at Kai, who was already on the verge of tears, and felt a chill. Judging by their reactions, would they complain about him? He shifted his gaze to Lu Luo, who was causing trouble.

"Come, come, you. You come with me. ."

Zhou Kai wanted to stop Lu Luo, but Lu Luo indicated that he was fine and followed Rudy, walking down one floor.

The two of them walked with their arms around each other's shoulders. Anyone who didn't know them might have thought they were good brothers.

"Changing the subject, and playing the victim first, you've got some skills, kid. I really did see you talking to that humanoid Xenomorph. Interacting with Xenomorph inside the wall is no joke."

"The Xenomorph you mentioned has already run upstairs. Aren't you going to chase her?"

"No. Although I know you're changing the subject, I'm willing to cooperate and continue talking, and besides, the Xenomorph are far less important than you people."

Rudy's expression was serious. In his opinion, monsters like the Xenomorph only had value in being killed or captured, while surviving humans had value in communication.

Finding evidence from communicable survivors was much easier than finding evidence from Xenomorph.

Rudy's answer surprised Lu Luo, and he also became serious.

"Alright, Mr. Hunter, ask whatever you want to know. If the time is right, I'll tell you."

When the time is right? Does that mean the time isn't right now? Are those students upstairs problematic?

Rudy already had a guess in his mind. Since Lu Luo had given the signal, they could only talk about meaningless topics for now.

"Do you know each other? Is its name Qin Wanyu?"

"I think the Qin Wanyu you're referring to is definitely not the Qin Wanyu I'm talking about."

"Is there a difference?"

"The 'bowl' from 'rice bowl', and the 'fish' from 'fish and shrimp'."

Damn it, this kid is really asking for a beating!
