Chapter 15 - 15: It's That Simple?

Lin Fan returned to his residence and decided to begin his cultivation.

Immediately, he walked into the courtyard and took out the sword that Yun San had given him.

The longsword was about three feet in length, overall blue in color. Its blade was as white as freshly fallen snow, about three inches wide, and the spine of the blade slightly raised—overall shaped like a diamond.

Intricate and mysterious patterns were carved along the blade, making it look like an exquisite piece of jade. Under the sunlight, it gleamed with a chilling, piercing light.

Etched into the center of the sword were three bold characters: 'Yun Qing Sword'.

Holding the Yun Qing Sword in his hand, Lin Fan examined it and said, "As expected of Yun San's sword, this is indeed a fine blade!"

Then, Lin Fan began to cultivate according to the Dragon Abyss Wave-Breaking Sword Technique as described in the manual.

In his mind, the first move of the Dragon Abyss Wave-Cleaving Sword surfaced.

"Catch the enemy off guard—strike mid-air!"

Store sword energy within the blade. Each time the sword is drawn, its power increases.

A surprise attack—executed with full force—would unleash overwhelming might!

Lin Fan began imitating the move like copying a gourd by drawing a ladle. After performing it seven or eight times, he still had no results.

"This is harder to execute than I thought," Lin Fan muttered.

Either the Dou Qi wasn't stabilizing properly, or it scattered the moment he unleashed the strike.

Each swing seemed technically correct, but produced no effect.

After about an hour, his arms had already grown sore.

"I need to calm down!" Lin Fan felt that his mental state was a bit chaotic, which was not conducive to cultivation.

He closed his eyes, sensing the gentle wind brushing past him, carrying the scent of flowers, and the rustling sound of leaves swaying at the treetops.

With every inhale and exhale, Lin Fan seemed to have gained a deeper understanding of the essence of that first strike!

Following the memory in his mind, he concentrated his Dou Qi into the sword, then swung, thrust, slashed...

His physical movements gradually began to align with the memory in his mind.

Now!

Lin Fan's eyes suddenly snapped open!

He raised the Yun Qing Sword and thrust forward with a single strike!

"Boom!"

A surge of sword energy erupted, leaving a deep sword mark on the distant wall!

"Whew!" Lin Fan let out a deep breath.

The first strike had finally succeeded!

"Though it's not completely precise, at least it has taken shape!"

While unleashing that first strike, Lin Fan could clearly feel that his Dou Qi had merged with the sword in the moment of the thrust, delivering a deadly blow!

But after that move, to perform the second strike, he would need to reconvert his Dou Qi back into the sword.

During the following training, Lin Fan discovered something strange: after each execution, he would mysteriously gain a deeper understanding of the sword technique.

And it wasn't subtle—it was a very obvious realization. In just under an hour, the first strike had already taken solid form!

Lin Fan furrowed his brows and muttered, "Is a mid-grade Yellow Rank sword technique really this easy?"

This feels almost too simple!

He then took out the Phantom Steps to practice.

This one only had incantations but no annotations, meaning he had to figure it all out by himself.

Yet, Lin Fan discovered that he could actually comprehend its meaning.

Wind seemed to gather beneath his feet. He channeled his Dou Qi into his lower body and completely relaxed his body.

Closing his eyes, he began to feel the flow of Dou Qi through his lower body and gradually, it felt as if his body was growing lighter!

He took a step forward, it felt like he had stepped several meters. But by the second step, that sensation vanished.

He began his second round of cultivation, using the same method. This time, it felt like there was wind beneath his feet, carrying him forward.

Then something strange happened again: after each round of training, he would inexplicably gain new insights.

It didn't feel like he was discovering them on his own—it felt more like those insights were being forcibly impressed upon him!

Lin Fan was utterly confused.

Suddenly, he felt a slight heat in his chest.

Reaching for his Supreme Bone, he found it burning hot.

"This isn't right… why is it so hot?" Lin Fan guessed aloud, "Could it be caused by my recent cultivation?"

A bold idea suddenly sprang up in his mind.

Could the Supreme Bone be helping me?

After repeated testing, Lin Fan came to a shocking conclusion:

The Supreme Bone was actually helping him comprehend cultivation techniques!

Every time he trained, he would gain mysterious new insights into the technique—and right afterward, the Supreme Bone would heat up.

The deeper the insight, the hotter the Supreme Bone would become!

This far exceeded Lin Fan's expectations!

He had thought the Supreme Bone's hundredfold cultivation speed and enhancement of his physical constitution were already monstrous enough.

But now, it could even help him comprehend techniques!

Doesn't that mean all techniques I learn in the future would be mastered with half the effort and double the results?

"Looks like I really underestimated the Supreme Bone's true potential!" Lin Fan muttered, looking at his chest.

Though he could now understand techniques very quickly, this ability still had its limits. After several hours of continuous cultivation, he had to stop.

The Supreme Bone would become so hot that his body couldn't take it any longer.

After several hours of cultivation, Lin Fan had finally reached the level of "Initial Comprehension".

If others were to find out that Lin Fan had reached Initial Comprehension after only a few hours of training, they would probably explode from jealousy.

For a mid-grade Yellow Rank technique, even the most talented disciples would need at least ten days to half a month—some even more than a month—to reach that stage.

But Lin Fan had only spent a few hours.

Even if the technique wasn't that high-ranking, mastering it so quickly was no small feat.

This alone proved just how terrifyingly powerful the Supreme Bone was!

"Whew!" Lin Fan collapsed to the ground, completely exhausted and drenched in sweat.

Those few hours of cultivation had wrung every last drop of energy out of him.

He immediately fetched a large wooden tub, filled it with water, and added drops of Xuanling Jade Marrow Liquid.

By now, Lin Fan had formed a habit—whenever he bathed, he always added the jade marrow liquid.

It not only strengthened his physique but also helped recover from the day's fatigue.

Just as he finished undressing and was relaxing in the warm bath...

….

The tightly shut doors suddenly burst open again!

Lin Fan: Why does this scene feel so familiar...?
