Chapter 102 - Chapter 101: Iron Warriors and Alpha

Chapter 101: Iron Warriors and Alpha

On the other side, due to the overall optimistic situation on the interstellar battlefield, Alpharius was in command of the entire area from the front, and the entire fleet was mostly left to the Company Commanders and Astra Militarum generals to play freely, gradually eliminating the Hrud fleet.

Omega was analyzing combat intelligence. In the past month, eleven warships had been successively hit by a mysterious, extremely rapid-aging ability.

Tech-Priest Russell had dissected and analyzed the Hrud's bodies this month, and their brains were significantly smaller than human brains.

Hrud were short, highly animalistic, possessed extremely strong reproductive capabilities, were numerous, and generally had shorter lifespans than humans.

Strictly speaking, such a low-intelligence Hrud population should not be able to develop interstellar civilization technology, but there were highly intelligent individuals within the Hrud population who possessed a method of connecting with other Hrud brains to expand their wisdom.

When this black technology of brain-linking was first discovered, the entire Alpha Legion high command was stunned, having never imagined such incredible biological technology existed.

Relying on brain-linking technology, the Hrud greatly increased their intelligence, rapidly developed their civilization, and manufactured laser weapons, ion weapons, and pulse weapons. They also created simple armors similar to power armor, sharp power weapons, and energy shields for warships.

The numerous, generally low-intelligence Hrud population provided a large number of loyal infantry, making them part of interstellar civilization. The Hrud civilization was surprisingly successful.

Omega had not seen the Hrud possess weapons beyond graviton technology. He had personally boarded and studied their warships, and they were generally inferior to the Imperium's warships.

The rapid aging ability was not a physical weapon, but merely a personal ability of powerful Hrud. This ability was clearly related to psychic powers, considered the Hrud's psychic talent.

Omega read the intelligence, deep in thought. "A racial psychic talent for temporal manipulation? This is too rare. Even the unreasonable Orks don't have it."

"I always feel this ability is somewhat abnormal. Imperial records show that the previous Overlords of the galaxy, the Aeldari, also had no record of using temporal abilities, though they had many seers."

Omega was very wary of this inexplicable, suddenly appearing, powerful weapon and ability. He had a feeling that the Hrud must be involved with some great entity in the Warp, who had bestowed the rare temporal ability upon the Hrud.

Just then, a communication from the Iron Warriors came in. Omega answered. He and Dantioch introduced themselves. Omega smiled and accepted the proposal for a meeting.

"Brother, are you coming to this invitation?" Omega asked Alpharius with a smile.

"No. Perturabo is not an easy person to deal with. Although he is also my brother, I know very well that meeting and talking with him will be very boring."

"Then I'll take people there."

Omega proactively took on this invitation. For the past month, the battles between the Iron Warriors and Alpha Legion had consistently been on the flanks in space, while the Night Lords liked to compete.

Since Perturabo was not proactive, he had to take the initiative.

Omega notified Skor and several Company Commanders, then put on his Terminator armor and took an interstellar fighter to the Iron Warriors' flagship.

Inside the spacious bridge, with its precise mechanical structures and bright lights, Omega and Captain Skor immediately noticed the intricate technological systems everywhere, evoking a sense of Iron Man.

Perturabo remained standing at the front, still intently directing the war, but he also noticed his brother, Omega, in his peripheral vision. The atmosphere within the Iron Warriors was not good, and the Primarch remained silent upon seeing guests.

After Omega and his group entered, everyone exchanged glances, creating an awkward silence for a while as they were unsure who should speak first.

Omega saw a polite warrior standing at the front, wearing exquisite armor, and surmised he held a high position. He smiled and stepped forward.

"Alpharius Omega, your Primarch's brother. And you are?"

Forrix assessed Omega and introduced himself. "Lord Alpharius, I am Forrix, Company Commander of the Iron Warriors' First Company. Harkor, Golg, and I are all core members of the Trident. This is Warsmith Dantioch."

Forrix pointed to the warriors beside him one by one, introducing their names.

Omega knew that the Trident were core members of the Iron Warriors, and he smiled as he introduced Skor, Norton, and the other Company Commanders.

The two parties introduced each other, then sat down to chat.

Omega saw Perturabo glance at him out of the corner of his eye, and he couldn't help but raise his hand, smiling as he greeted him. "Perturabo, we meet again. Is commanding the war tiring?"

Forrix and the others were surprised by Omega's relaxed demeanor.

Perturabo turned sideways, his expression serious and calm beneath his iron hair, and said, "It's fine. Is it all right for you, as the Legion's supreme commander, to leave the Legion?"

Dantioch felt helpless hearing the Primarch speak like this. This was a guest we personally invited! Is it okay to talk like that?

Omega paused, then laughed indifferently. "It's fine. The Alpha Legion's Company Commanders and the Astra Militarum's generals are all quite excellent. The Hrud fleet has been scared off and is now only defending, not daring to attack. It's fine for me to leave for a few hours. Company Commander Ingo Pech, please give a detailed analysis of the battle situation."

Perturabo was somewhat surprised by Omega's answer and looked at Ingo Pech, the First Company Commander of the Alpha Legion.

First Company Commander Ingo Pech, Second Company Commander Xias Herzog, and Terminator Squad Company Commander Sid Ranko were all veteran warriors who had followed Alpharius in the early years, and they were elites among elites.

The Company Commanders who had come out with Omega in recent years were all ranked much lower, mostly appearing after decades of campaigning. Skor was famous but not high in the Company Commander rankings.

In the previous decades, the early Company Commanders had followed Alpharius in intelligence work, and even when they participated in wars, they remained relatively independent. Company Commanders like Skor, however, followed Omega on campaigns.

After the Perfect City incident, Alpharius led his Company Commanders to rendezvous with Omega, and Ingpeck's status as a senior veteran remained high.

Due to the differing strategic and tactical styles of Alpharius and Omega, the entire Alpha Legion presented two styles of combat, which naturally led to division and debate.

There was much discussion among the ranks, with followers of both Primarchs adhering to their preferred methods of war.

Captain Skor watched First Company Commander Ingpeck calmly and clearly analyze the battle situation in front of everyone.

Seeing Primarch Omega's calm, smiling expression, he quietly observed. Ingpeck was absolutely loyal to Alpharius's ideals and thoughts, advocating the previous style of deep enemy operations.

There were disputes within the Alpha Legion, but Omega's strong personal charisma and approachable, caring nature toward his subordinates prevented Ingpeck and other Company Commanders who followed Alpharius from bringing the conflicts to the surface.

Perturabo listened, then nodded. "Not bad."

Ingpeck hadn't expected such a reaction from Perturabo, and for a rare moment, he thought his performance was perfect, unaware that this was a rare high praise from Perturabo for someone he encountered for the first time.

As soon as he finished speaking, the entire room fell silent again, unsure who should speak. Omega, amused, pointed to Forrix's deputy and said, "Gharal, Skor, you two together set out the delicacies we brought. Let's eat and talk."

Gharal, standing behind Forrix, was surprised to be addressed so warmly by the opposing Primarch. He eagerly stepped forward with Skor and his group to lay out the abundant delicacies brought by the Alpha Legion.

Warsmith Dantioch, seeing this, quickly took the opportunity to have his men bring out food and drinks, so that Alpha Legion would not feel that the Iron Warriors had neglected them.

Perturabo watched Omega skillfully lay out a large amount of food and drink, and as the scent of meat wafted, he looked at his brother with some surprise.

Omega saw his surprised look and smiled. "An atmosphere of a feast with delicious food always puts people in a better mood, which is conducive to communication and cooperation between both sides."

Perturabo was not one to refuse, nor did he care about food or drink.

He retorted, "Is this noble culture you learned? Back at the palace banquet, you talked about culture with Fulgrim, and you seemed not to understand much."

Omega shook his head slightly. "I'm not proficient in human culture, but I know a little about holding banquets and eating. Forrix, please help watch your Legion's battle situation so Perturabo can spare some energy to participate in the banquet."

"Oh!" Forrix, as the First Company Commander of the Iron Warriors, obediently responded and stepped forward to help his Primarch oversee the battle situation.
