Chapter 57 - Chapter Fifty Seven: The Heart of EdenADANNA

ADANNA POV (Point of view)

The warehouse door groaned as it opened, the sound echoed through the empty dock like a warning and for a moment none of us moved.

Behind us, gunfire still cracked across the platform as Darian kept Kade's men from rushing forward, bullets struck the metal containers with sharp metallic pings, splintering old wood and sending dust into the air, but inside the warehouse.....there was silence. I mean thick, heavy amd waiting silence amd Eden pulsed violently beneath my palms, the vibration so strong now it traveled through my arms and into my chest.

It felt like standing beside a heartbeat, not mechanical but alive.

"Adanna!"

Darian's voice snapped through the chaos.

"Inside! Now!"

I didn't hesitate and slipped through the door, Darian followed a second later, slamming the heavy metal door behind us and dragging a rusted chain across the handle to slow anyone trying to follow.

The noise outside dimmed slightly, but Eden's pulse only grew louder.
