Chapter 300 - Chapter 300 The Performance Fee

"I'm not a food disposal unit, and my appetite isn't that big anyway," Yusei retorted, giving Eriri a sidelong glance.

"Eh, really? I heard boys usually have big appetites," Eriri said, blinking her mischievous eyes.

It was generally true that males had larger appetites than females, under normal circumstances.

However, Eriri hadn't ordered so many dishes to fill Yusei up. She just wanted to try every dish she hadn't tasted before at this restaurant.

Simply put, she wanted a bite of everything. As for the leftovers... well, that was Yusei's problem now.

Yusei roughly understood Eriri's thinking and didn't mind. She had worked hard today, so treating her to a slightly expensive meal was fine.

While waiting for the food, Eriri went to the restroom. Yusei waited idly at the table.

The passive, intangible illusion of his purple, ripple-patterned Rinnegan was powerful, making anyone who saw his eyes subconsciously perceive them as ordinary.

It drew no curiosity or unusual attention.

The Rinnegan's potential ran deep.

A system-guaranteed premium item, its ability to summon powerful creatures from other worlds hinted at its uniqueness.

Although the first contract summon had a slight issue, it didn't detract from its power.

Yusei was confident that once he mastered the Rinnegan fully, something like a Chibaku Tensei the size of the moon would be trivial.

He could even casually manipulate gravity, hurling countless meteors from space onto his enemies' heads.

Thinking bigger, moving a smaller celestial body wasn't just a dream.

The waiters soon began serving the food, not keeping guests waiting.

After all, guests came to eat, and they came because they were hungry. Making hungry guests wait one or two hours was a culinary disaster.

Eriri timed it perfectly. Her golden hair and cute, fair-skinned face reappeared in Yusei's view, walking towards him.

But her expression seemed somewhat impatient. Yusei's gaze shifted slightly to the boy following closely behind her, constantly talking, and he roughly understood the situation.

'Probably another pursuer or something similar.'

Eriri returned to the seat, the one next to Yusei.

Yusei moved inward slightly, making more room for her.

The boy, dressed like a rich young master, noticed Eriri sitting opposite a man and his eyes sharpened.

Yusei observed all this calmly. From her deliberately choosing the seat next to him instead of the one opposite, and the boy's sharp, jealous glare, he grasped the situation.

He remained silent, knowing Eriri would speak soon.

Sure enough, the next moment, Eriri deliberately leaned closer to Yusei and said in a slightly coquettish tone, "Didn't I say I couldn't eat this much? Why did you still order all my favorites?"

Hearing her sweet, coquettish voice, Yusei's mouth twitched, but he perfectly played the role of the outrageously extravagant boyfriend.

"If you can't finish it, just leave it. Just taste a bit of everything. If you don't like something, we'll order something else."

Then, Yusei added, "Or we could just buy this place and change the menu."

Simultaneously, Yusei very casually wrapped his arm around Eriri's waist. Even through her clothes, he could feel the softness of her body.

Eriri's body stiffened. She smiled at Yusei but, unnoticed by others, shot him a dangerous look.

'Don't you dare move a muscle, or I'll kill you!'

Yusei wasn't about to take that threat. His eyes signaled back: 'If we're putting on a show, we go all the way.'

'As if I'd be a free shield for you.'

But Yusei didn't go overboard, just kept his arm loosely around her waist.

However, to the boy watching, this scene was already unforgivable.

He was the son of a politician. He had once seen the daughter of a diplomat at a socialite banquet and was instantly captivated by her mixed-race temperament and beauty.

He had inquired about her ever since, finally learning she was in the Tokyo University's Arts department. Using his connections, he forcibly transferred from the Law department to Arts.

His goal was, naturally, 'getting first dibs by being close to the water'… pursuing Eriri.

She was a diplomat's daughter, and his family was somewhat supportive, so he had many advantages.

Unfortunately, Eriri was completely uninterested in him. Unaware, he mistook her polite, surface-level courtesy for genuine interest.

This was the legendary misconception in life… thinking someone likes you.

Eriri had always found him annoying, like a persistent fly, but it was hard for her to outright tell him to 'get lost'. All her hints for him to keep his distance seemed to go completely over his head.

Running into him at the restaurant today was a coincidence, as he was dining with other classmates.

Seeing Eriri, he naturally wanted her to join their table.

Eriri had reached her limit. Luckily, Yusei was here today, so she directly stated she had a boyfriend.

But this boy didn't believe her, so he followed her to see for himself.

And indeed, he found his goddess sitting next to a casually dressed man, who even had his arm around her waist.

Instantly, he felt like something was missing from his life.

His pursuit motivation instantly dried up, like a fish left in the sun.

He didn't utter any threats, just left looking utterly dejected.

While stories like 'I'll give you a million to leave her' exist in real society, they are extremely rare.

At least, the boy Yusei saw didn't do that. After accepting reality, he simply retreated silently.

Yusei watched his lonely figure without comment, even finding it somewhat boring.

He had just acted alongside Eriri and collected his 'performance fee'.

The moment the boy left, Eriri immediately glared at Yusei, pinched the hand still resting near her waist, and moved back to the seat opposite him.

She picked up her knife and fork, cut a piece of steak fiercely, and took a bite, seemingly venting her frustration at being taken advantage of.
