Chapter 1 - Someone's watching

On a saturday morning I woke up. Usually I go back to sleep but today I decided to practice what my therapist taught me. I went to the kitchen. I grabbed two eggs and an onion. I sauteed the onions until they turned brown. Then I added my eggs in a bowl. I sprinkled salt and pepper on my beater eggs. Then I added them to the pan. I cooked my eggs. This was one of the things I did in the morning to set my day right. I've been doing therapy now for over a year. This is one of the things my therapist said to do to improve my mental health. I'm a huge advocate for mental health and am going to school in order to get my psych degree. I ate my eggs with bread. I looked at the wall in longing. It's been some time since I have had somebody in my life. I miss having a partner. I finished up my breakfast quickly. It was time to take a shower. I hopped in the shower and lathered my body with soap. After I was done I put fresh clothes on. It was time to go feed my dog, who was panting at me right now. I smiled. I went to put his food in a bowl. I then went to my office to go work on some of my client's designs. I am currently working as a logo designer. I sit down and open my laptop. The green of the wallpaper greets me. I look at the lake and the trees that I have as a wallpaper. It's always nice to look at such a peacefull scenery. I get to work. Usually when I work I have imposter syndrome. I think that I'm not good at what I'm doing. I think maybe my clients will hate my work. I usually push through since my clients tend to love my work. This is one thing I've talked to my therapist about. The need for approval and validation from others. It's still something I have to work on.

After a few hours of working I stretched my arms and back. I looked outside. It was not dark yet so I decided on walking my dog. "Come on boy" I said, "Its time for a walk" My dog, who's name is cooper barked excitedly. I put his leash on and unlocked the door. I said hi to my neighbor. Usually I'm a bit shy but she had smiled at me and said hi. I walked my dog out of my apartment. I continued to walk around my neighborhood. It was nice outside, but it was a bit windy. I put my earbuds in and started listening to my favorite music. As I came to cross the street I saw a silver van. The windows were tinted so I couldn't see who was in it. I motioned for the person to go ahead but they didn't. Given their lack of movement, I went ahead and crossed the street. I gave them an over the shoulder glance before I continued crossing the street. As I hit the sidewalk I felt a gut feeling of being watched. I glanced again at the van and it was still there. I'm paranoid so I decided to run away from where it was standing.
