Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: Target, New World

Kaidou's goal isn't to create a playhouse adventure team; pirate life is brutal, and fighting is just the most basic aspect of it.

Previously, when Olga hadn't yet made up her mind, Kaidou was merely training her physically, but when she shouted the word "Captain," it meant everything had changed.

Recognizing the identity of a pirate requires the awareness of becoming a pirate.

If she dared not, nothing much would happen except that Kaidou-sensei would give her more care until she could adapt to this brutal pirate society.

However, the antique knife on Olga has long been discarded somewhere. Although she is a child, Fleit didn't drop his guard too much and removed the lethal weapon from her body.

Fleit was made powerless by Kaidou, but killing him with bare hands was still too difficult for Olga.

"No weapon...?"

"Weapon? Kid, on the battlefield, there's no time to search for weapons. Stones, planks, without mentioning these external objects, teeth, nails, all can be your weapons. Even if you bite, don't show mercy to the enemy, otherwise, you'll be the one who dies."

However, there were broken objects everywhere, so there was no need to resort to such primitive means. Olga pulled out a broken table leg from the side and swung it at Fleit's head.

This resulted in Fleit experiencing quite a period of torment. If Kaidou acted, killing him would be effortless, but for Olga, it was different.

Although Kaidou had severely injured him, his body's intensity, strengthened by Rokushiki training, possessed very tenacious vitality.

Olga's attacks, not to mention fatal, couldn't even make him lose consciousness instantly, hammering his head repeatedly, instead became a form of torture.

Kaidou's blow nearly crushed all the bones in his body, so now he could only watch as Olga's wooden club came crashing down one hit after another.

It was like torture until the table leg in Olga's hand broke, and Fleit's life came to an end.

"Too weak, it seems you need quite some time to grow up. But clubs aren't suitable for you; you completely lack talent in this aspect."

Kaidou's proficiency with club-type weapons was maxed out, and from Olga's club-swinging style, it was evident she wasn't suited for such weapons.

Once everything was settled, the Cyan Dragon-formed Kaidou led everyone to the designated location. Compared to the previous patrol ship, this ship was much larger.

It was a steamship, which required less manpower to operate than traditional sailing ships.

"Dad! You're okay too, that's great!"

"Pain... pain... so painful, Olga, you go down first."

He was more injured than Elizabeth, and human self-healing was much weaker compared to the Snake Monster Lizard.

He wasn't a Zoan-type user, so merely moving was already quite an achievement.

Many matters came to a stage, Arceus temporarily lost track of new Plate information, the world was vast, and based on his current sensory range, aimlessly searching for the Plate was nearly impossible.

According to known information, the World Government might have it, but as the actual rulers of the sea, the Grand Line, Red Earth Continent, and Four Seas' vast scope left no starting point.

Shaina and King could only roughly estimate the island where the lost Plate might be based on conversations between clan members; currently, no news yet.

So the focus temporarily shifted to the search device Queen mentioned.

"I roughly understand the production craft; some details need experimentation. It's impossible with me alone, and the simple equipment on board is insufficient, at least needing a laboratory."

He needed more equipment. Although he crafted many items by hand, it doesn't mean he could replace machines manually. Whether for experiments or other tasks, more manpower was necessary.

Kaidou's previous actions were all on the route of searching for the Plate, but the next step was turning to territory and manpower expansion.

Kaidou had no plans to linger in Paradise; his goal was the New World.

Silver Axe, Ochoku, John, these were all Great Pirates with established territories in the New World, and now their deaths meant many areas were vacant.

Pirates can be divided into two types: those who pillage everywhere, such pirates are considered low-level in the pirate community.

However, the Great Pirates of the New World were no longer ordinary pirates; they resembled regional warlords.

Apart from their powerful strength and cadre under the command, they supervised numerous pirate groups with tens of thousands of forces, controlling expansive territorial seas.

At this level, plunder had become the least efficient means.

They maintained the operation of the Great Pirate Gang based on tributes.

All business in their territorial seas needed to pay "taxes." Outside the World Government's jurisdiction, the fist became the only rule here.

From commodity trading, harbor docking, catering, and entertainment industries to casinos and underground venues, providing security for everything, including weapon smuggling—black, white, grey—all kinds of industries had their involvement.

All economic activities within the territorial sea were closely related to the actual controllers here.

Even if nothing else were available, just the price for flying their flag was of high value; it took billions of Belly to acquire this flag.

If one lacked sufficient self-protection, borrowing a flag was the best solution.

However, these expenses were generally worth it. In the chaotic New World, new pirates entered every year, every day, even every moment. Compared to those who had mixed in the New World for some time, the residents feared these newcomers more.

These people, unaware of the strong, would often do reckless things.

However, not all pirates were rash; many pirates sought protection under a Great Pirate after entering the New World.

Kaidou wasn't a newcomer, naturally not intending to proceed step-by-step like those freshly ventured out pirates.

Taking over the territory previously owned by John and others was the best idea for now. Compared to fighting with other New World pirates for territory, occupying this ownerless land to develop forces was a better choice.

"This is the Nautical Chart; the territories of John and the others aren't adjacent. Under our current circumstances, we can only occupy one first."

"Let's take John's then; if I remember correctly, that island was known as the industrial island." Looking at the map Kaidou presented, Queen put forward his suggestion.
