Chapter 79 - Chapter 63: The Clan's Considerations (Part 2)

It must be addressed promptly to prevent causing a great disaster for Konoha.

But for now, Hiruzen is not worried about this point.

Since the death of Uchiha Madara, there has been no instance of the Uchiha Race awakening the Mangekyo Sharingan.

No matter how talented an Uchiha Ninja is, the Three Tomoe Sharingan is the ultimate limit they can reach.

The Three Tomoe Sharingan is not enough to intimidate him as Hokage.

Three o'clock in the afternoon.

Hakushi and the other two returned to the village of Konoha with the team after several days away.

The peaceful and tranquil scene was in stark contrast to the heavy and oppressive feeling on the front lines.

This peace was exchanged with the lives of countless ninjas on the front lines.

"Well, we'll part ways here."

At a fork in the road, Ayane was the first to suggest separating.

Hakushi and Ruri did not object, as now was indeed not the time to talk about trivial family matters.

The Uchiha Race's domain was as usual, neither lively nor desolate, and some children wearing clothes embroidered with the fan emblem were playing on the streets of the Uchiha territory.

They were the new generation of the Uchiha Race.

They all seemed to know Ruri, the talented figure in the clan, and came over to greet her, calling out "Big Sister Ruri" sweetly.

Ruri took out some candies to share with the children, reminding them to be careful while playing.

"Next, I'm going to the elders to learn about the situation in the village, you go back first."

Ruri watched the children leave and then turned to say to Hakushi.

"Got it, anyway, I'm just a guy who needs to remain invisible quietly."

Hakushi had no complaints about this.

Ruri nodded, acknowledging Hakushi's good attitude in this regard.

He had been like this since he was a child, showing indifference whether underestimated or ignored by others.

"Although I think, how things are handled won't be too satisfying for you."

Before leaving, Hakushi said one more thing.

Ruri furrowed her brows at this.

Just as she was about to say something, Hakushi had already walked away, only seeing his departing gesture with a wave that meant 'see you later.'

After bidding farewell to Hakushi, Ruri went alone to the Nankai Shrine.

When she arrived there, sure enough, an Uchiha elder was already waiting for her.

It was Uchiha Shikora.

Beside him, a young man knelt, who was Uchiha Fugaku.

Fugaku gave Ruri a slight smile and nodding, considered it a greeting.

Ruri nodded back in greeting.

Honestly speaking, though she and Fugaku were both candidates for the Uchiha clan leader, Ruri did not like to interact with Fugaku.

It wasn't because Fugaku's strength was weak, as a candidate for clan leader, his prowess was formidable as a Jonin, with his Sharingan honed to the Three Tomoe level.

But Fugaku's way of handling things is too conservative and gentle, which is exactly the style Ruri dislikes.

Ruri respects his strength, but she doubts whether his character is capable of bearing the major responsibility of clan leader.

The Uchiha Race, after all, is not an ordinary Ninja Race.

Being gentle and conservative is a slow poison that stifles the Uchiha, in Ruri's view of the clan.

After sitting down, Ruri nodded slightly towards Uchiha Shikora to show respect for the elder.

"Elder Shikora, about this time..."

As Ruri was about to speak, Elder Shikora already raised his hand to interrupt, his tone not as impulsive as imagined.

"I've already heard about this from the Hokage."

"Really?" Ruri said in a low voice, continuing to ask, "So what does the clan plan to do?"

"What is your perspective, Ruri?"

Elder Shikora did not tell Ruri the clan's plan but instead asked her perspective on this matter.

"I remember Elder Shikora once told me, the leader of Root is Shimura Danzo, right? He's a close friend of the Hokage, a disciple of the Second Hokage."

"Yes."

"Such a tight organization, without a superior's orders, subordinates absolutely dare not act on their own. I don't think the other two people in the squad were their targets, Root's target could only be me or the Uchiha. So, all of this was instructed by Shimura Danzo, targeting our Uchiha Race. Also, this can be viewed as a grave crime of murdering comrades without cause, and he should be imprisoned in Konoha Prison for repentance."

As long as the mastermind behind the scenes is imprisoned in Konoha Prison, then no matter what achievements he had before, it would all be meaningless.

His political achievements would be erased, making him a person with no influence on the village.

This was the punishment Ruri hoped for against that high-level of Konoha.

Saying this, Ruri took out a scroll and placed it in front of Elder Shikora.

Without doubt, the scroll contained ironclad evidence, proof of Root falsely accusing fellow ninjas.

With identification from Anbu, they could solidify Root's crime.

And Root's leader couldn't escape involvement, would be implicated.

Elder Shikora sighed, knowing Ruri would do this.

He watched Ruri grow up, very aware of her retaliative temperament.

"It's useless if those four Root Ninjas were indeed killed by you? That means there's no witnesses, as long as Danzo refuses to admit, he can have his subordinates take the punishment for him. Moreover, the Yamanaka Clan is dealing with a big issue right now, needing a few days to handle it."
