Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The Witch in the Castle, Entrance Ceremony Gift

Ian Prince.

This is Ian's name in this life.

Actually.

He doesn't know exactly how long he's been transmigrating.

Unlike many who close their eyes only to open them again in the Otherworld, after dying unexpectedly as a college student in his last life, he did not immediately reincarnate into another world.

His consciousness went through a period of fragmented memories, filled with a hazy era, as if he was flying continuously, passing through many places, witnessing many things he couldn't remember.

Recalling now.

Ian doesn't know why he had that experience. It felt less like he was searching for lost sheep and more like a purposeless, restless wandering.

Until a light appeared.

He flew towards the light.

That's when he opened his eyes again to see a familiar yet unfamiliar world.

As a transmigrator, Ian possesses the Golden Finger meant for someone like him; aside from the Attribute Panel, being able to cross the boundary between life and death seems to have become his unique gift.

Every week, while dreaming, Ian visits this peculiar place, called Misty Illusion Realm by the innocent little girl before him.

Yes, Misty Illusion Realm, the Realm of the Dead in Harry Potter World. Some say it's a waystation to the Netherworld; others say it's the Path of Rebirth... In Ian's previous life understanding of Harry Potter, he knew Dumbledore appeared in the Misty Illusion Realm at a train station after his death.

He speculates that his ability to come here might be because of his death and revival, having wisdom from two lives. Was it related to this world's bug?

Forgive him for only watching some movies and fan fiction, without cramming more related knowledge. If he had known about transmigrating, he surely would have become a Harry scholar in his previous life.

Of course.

Perhaps even a Harry scholar.

Wouldn't know much more about this place, otherwise Misty Illusion Realm wouldn't be one of the most mysterious areas in the original map.

"You look a bit shaken?"

The girl before him, unaware of how long she's been dead, is an old ghost, yet Ariana retains the innocence and slight naïveté of her youth before death.

She's also one of the few friends Ian has in this place.

Regarding Misty Illusion Realm.

Ian always feels it's a treasure trove. A Little Wizard's magic awakening typically only leads to Level 1 Magic Control, whereas he possesses Level 4 magic power.

The reason is because he studied here.

Of course.

Not with the girl before him, since Ariana is just an ordinary person without knowledge of magic. Ian learned Magic Control from another friend.

However.

The other person always refuses to teach him real magic, constantly emphasizing that he's not old enough.

"Scary old man! It's because of a scary old man!"

Ian's tone had a hint of emphasis.

"Why do you call him a scary old man? Is he frightening to look at?"

Ariana was a bit curious.

Ian and Ariana started walking, and he shook his head to explain.

"No, he's not frightening to look at. On the contrary, he's a very genteel old man. However, this old man is a peeper, or at least that's what I've heard."

"Aren't you curious why he came looking for me, Ariana?"

The two walked to the edge of a river, with several butterflies fluttering around them, and a small rabbit under a tree looked at their backs.

Sunlight poured down, making the scenery soft.

"Why did he come looking for you? Did he want to peek at you taking a bath?"

The girl's words left Ian speechless.

"He came to invite me to attend Hogwarts, Ariana. I'm actually a Wizard with a registered status!" Ian looked at the flowing river water, boasting in a very showy tone.

His previous life's age wasn't much, and though he wandered for long, it was hazy... To sum it up, he was just slightly better than Ariana as an old ghost.

Otherwise, why would they become friends?

You always need some similarities, don't you?

"Hogwarts? I know, I still remember Hogwarts. It's the best Wizarding Academy in the world! Also, it's the safest place in the world!"

Ariana looked at Ian with surprise.

"Ian, if you run into trouble at Hogwarts, you can ask my two brothers for help. They're students at Hogwarts and are very warm-hearted good people."

You could tell she was very enthusiastic.

However.

"I'm definitely going to run into trouble."

Ian dipped his leg into the river and lay down on the grass, opening slowly with some helplessness: "Your brother is a student. No matter how powerful he is, how can he compare? This year or next, our school might refresh with the noseless freak, which ordinary people can't handle."

Regarding Voldemort.

Ian was also concerned.

He might not intersect with the Savior, but who knows if he might become collateral damage while studying at school? Nobody would believe Hogwarts is truly the safest place.

"Noseless freak?"

Ariana tilted her head in confusion.

"Yes, it's just a big villain about to be revived."

Perhaps because this place is isolated from reality, and also because the person in front of him has been a friend since childhood, Ian did not hide his knowledge of "future events."

He had also revealed many similar pieces of prophecy before.

But Ariana had never been curious.

"Is the noseless freak very powerful? Ian, my two brothers are quite strong."

Ariana spoke earnestly.

Ian straightened up and asked curiously, "Your two brothers, are they twins?"

When it comes to twins, Ian first thought of the Weasleys, but seeing that Ariana's hair color was different, and he had never heard of a sister who died young in the Weasley family.

Was it another Magic Clan?

Twenty-Eight Pure-blood Holy Races?

Confused... Ian scratched his head and asked once more, "You really can't remember your last name?"

Ariana shook her head, her expression a bit forlorn.

Ian blinked: "Then how can I find your brothers to help?"

"My brothers..."

Ariana fell into a reminiscent expression but couldn't recall any details about her brothers. She only remembered having two brothers who loved her very much, and she was waiting for them here.

"Looks like I'm about to completely forget my obsessions and past."

Ariana's eyes were melancholic as she rested her face in her hand, watching the flowing river.

Ian quickly comforted her, a bit at a loss: "In the Misty Illusion Realm, souls linger because of obsessions. When your obsessions disappear or you forget everything, that is the time to move on to the afterlife."

"That's not necessarily a bad thing."

Ian looked at Ariana with clear eyes, only to see her eyes suddenly redden.

"But, my brothers..."

Ariana choked up a bit.

This...

Not knowing how to comfort her, Ian could only take out the chocolate he had prepared earlier, saying, "Well, here's a treat for you. I was originally saving it for myself."

He had already bought the chocolate in advance, hidden in his pocket; of course, not because he forgot to bring it.

"Chocolate... Ian, you're so kind!"

Seeing the chocolate, Ariana wasn't as sad anymore, and immediately broke into a smile. After taking a bite, she couldn't help but say, "Actually, I really wish to see my brothers once more."

Ian scratched his head, looking at the side of the girl's face, and said.

"I'll go back and ask around for you, see if any family lost a sister, maybe I'll find out and let you know so you can stay here a few more years."

"Everyone dies eventually, just hang in there, and when they die, you'll be able to see them here." Ian earnestly told Ariana.

Ariana, surprised and grateful, said, "Thank you for your comfort, Ian, but you mustn't go off killing them just to reunite me with my brothers."

Wow!

Are you giving me new ideas?

Ian: "..."

He really didn't know how to roll his eyes at this.

"What kind of evil monster do you think I am?"

Ian looked innocent.

"The witch living in the castle said you have those qualities."

Seeing Ian's speechlessness, Ariana couldn't help but laugh.

The witch in the castle?

Ian turned to look at the hidden castle in the forest, which he had heard about.

Only, the Misty Illusion Realm was vast, and his abilities couldn't explore too much of it yet.

At this moment, he felt a cold touch in his palm.

Ian turned his head, only to see Ariana holding his hand, smiling: "Ian, thank you for your kindness, this is also a congratulation on your enrollment..."

"I want to give you a gift."

As she spoke, Ian quickly felt a warmth spreading from his hand. He looked down, only to see a vivid red color flowing from Ariana's hand into his.

A delicate pattern appeared on the back of his hand, but it quickly faded.

"What is this?"

Just as Ian spoke, the surroundings began to blur, and the person in front of him started to fade.

He knew.

It was time to leave, so he made no effort to resist.

"See you next week."

Ian waved goodbye with a smile.

Ariana also waved with a smile.

"See you next week."
