Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Quest

The panel on the stone wall suddenly burned brighter than before, casting flickering light over the bloodied chamber.

[GREED AWAKENING SYSTEM IS ACTIVATED]

[HIDDEN QUEST CONDITION HAS BEEN MET]

[ALL TREASURE HAS BEEN TAKEN – 100% CLEARED]

[NUMBER OF PERSON TO TAKE THE TREASURE (1/1) – 100% CLEARED]

The air thickened.

Each breath felt like dragging stone through his lungs.

Yggy sat slouched, back pressed against a massive chunk of fractured concrete.

His face was pale—lips cracking.

Blood dripped, slow and steady, from the ragged end of his severed leg.

The wolf stood in the middle of it all—snarling, laughing.

Mocking.

Then it stepped closer.

Closer still—until its fanged grin hovered inches from his face.

"Then tell me," the beast whispered, its voice a low rumble—

"What is it you desire?"

Yggy's eyes drifted to the blood-soaked floor.

To the scattered notebooks.

To everything he had fought to claim.

He hesitated.

He could escape now, maybe. Crawl his way to the surface.

But a cripple? With no strength? No power?

No future.

But…

If he can take the treasure with him…

How about if I took everything with me?…

His eyes sharpened.

He inhaled the thick air and answered with a voice that trembled, not from fear..

…but from ambition.

"I want to take everything with me"

Proud.

Yet terrified.

The wolf blinked slowly.

Then grinned wider.

"Your friends begged for escape... but you want to take everything?"

The voice dripped with a chilling, predatory amusement.

"Don't be greedy, boy."

It raised a long, jagged, gleaming claw and slowly dragged it through the air near Yggy's chin.

A gentle warning.

A playful threat.

Then the beast chuckled again—this time with a tremor behind the sound, a thrill in its voice.

"I'll give you a fighting chance."

It smirked.

Yggy squinted, exhaling sharply through his nose.

"A fight? Against a crippled and a lost arm porter with nothing?"

He scoffed, bitterly amused. mocking

"How noble."

The wolf tilted its head.

Yggy's voice rose.

"You enjoy this, don't you? Fighting someone who dont have a chance? Who can't even crawl straight anymore?"

His tone twisted into mockery, jaw clenched.

"How... superior of you."

The wolf's grin faded into a snarl.

Without warning, it reached down and gripped Yggy's bleeding arm..

Claws dug in—not to tear, but to pinch the wound.

"What are you talking about, boy?" the beast growled.

Yggy winced..

But instead of more pain, he felt heat.

Searing. Burning. Stitching.

Light—red and gold—swirled around the wound.

Then—flesh.

elbow.fingers. Bone. Skin.

It wasn't healing.

It was regenerating.

His leg wound gone and his leftt arm back

Right there.

Right in front of him.

Steam hissed off the floor.

Blood evaporated from the stone.

Yggy's eyes widened.

His breath caught.

He pushed himself up..

Slowly.

Carefully.

Afraid it was some illusion.

But no… he could feel the weight.

The strength.

It was real.

He stood.

Both legs planted. Firm.

The wolf's crimson eyes locked onto his.

"Equal match," they seemed to say without a word.

The panel above pulsed faintly again, as if acknowledging the system's silent blessing.

But Yggy's mind spiraled.

He looked at his hands—then at the monster in front of him.

Even with this…

…how the hell am I supposed to beat it?

Ten Ranking above C guild members couldn't scratch it.

They died screaming. Two escaped

Others ripped apart like nothing.

And now it's just me.

Me… alone.

His heartbeat thundered in his ears.

This wasn't a fighting chance.

This was another of its massacres.

Yggy, now standing with both legs solid beneath him, chuckled—

Weak, but defiant.

"Is this what you mean by a fighting chance, huh?" he spat, eyes never leaving the wolf's towering frame.

The wolf's growl turned to a grin.

But before it could reply..

The panel on the wall twitched.

The cracked concrete shimmered.

Its digital script disassembled mid-symbol, rearranging itself into…

A pixelated smiling face.

Crude. Glitchy. But unmistakably… cheerful.

The wolf's smile dropped.

It turned to the wall, barking out a bitter laugh.

"So… you're happy now?"

Its voice was tight, bitter.

Then it snarled..

"I LOCK YOU UP HERE!!!"

Like it was invoking an ancient clause.

The screen flickered again.

[WE HAVE THE AGREEMENT.]

Then it cracked.

Crumbled.

[YOU SAID THAT NO BEING COULD LOOT THE TREASURE IN THIS ROOM]

A paused like its trying to let it sink in then below it

[LET IT BE ALONE???]

The panel buzzed like a corrupted memory file unraveling.

Another line replaced it:

[IF THERE WILL BE]

[YOU PROMISE]

[YOU WILL GRANT ME A FINAL BATTLE.]

The wolf slowly turned back to Yggy, placing its massive clawed hand over its face—

Laughing.

Not with humor.

With disbelief.

"And you chose this boy."

The words hung like venom in the air.

The panel glitched one last time.

The emoji returned…

But this time, it was grinning.

Wide. Smug.

Almost… mocking.

The wolf growled again.

"But I warn you, Sister," it thundered, voice shaking the chamber walls.

"You got lucky this time."

The beast's jaw trembled with fury as it pointed a claw to the ceiling, to the system itself.

"The next sealing won't be kind."

The wolf leaned in close, its devilish grin stretching unnaturally wide.

It sneered.

"The last vessel you had… had a better combination."

Its eyes glowed as it scanned Yggy from head to toe, like a barcode being read at checkout.

"But this guy?"

It sniffed in disgust.

"Telekinesis and storage?

The Big Wolf laugh hard a tone of insult enveloped in it

 Then the grin returned.

"I don't know how greedy this bastard can be..."

"…But show me what you've got."

The wolf stepped back and began to recite—mocking, singsong, like a nursery rhyme written by gods:

"The Tower is tall, and sees it all.

The Tower keeps no time, but claims all

"The Tower stands first, to stop what's worst."

Then it turned its back and began walking toward the far end of the chamber, steps echoing on cracked stone.

"I'll be waiting," it said over its shoulder,

"at the top… Floor."

Its voice dropped low and cruel:

"Show me how greedy you really are... to defeat me The Vessel of Greed…

and you, boy… You desire everything.

But are you worthy of it? Your not the first but ill make sure you will be the last"

Behind it, the panel on the wall flickered once again… A smiling pixelated face appeared, serene… mocking.

The wolf barked one final laugh.

"Give me a fight more worthy than last time!"

Its voice echoed across the entire floor, shaking the walls.

Then—

an aura burst.

It hit Yggy like a freight train.

His vision blurred.

He couldn't breathe.

His lungs collapsed inward.

And then—black.
