Chapter 163 - Chapter 131: Summer and the Night of Fireflies (4k)

Naoki turned back to the cabin, preparing to freeze some ice cubes in the refrigerator using molds so he wouldn't always have to trouble Glaceon for ice.

On the way back, Naoki saw Cyclizar, who had just finished eating a creamy ice, practicing moves with Koraidon.

He stopped, standing beside Koraidon, watching Cyclizar practice diligently.

He had to admit, Koraidon was a good teacher, and Cyclizar was a dedicated student.

Naoki had been observing the interaction between these two Pokemon.

Initially, Koraidon didn't seem very interested in teaching Cyclizar.

Cyclizar also had a sense of fear towards the fierce Koraidon.

Yet, despite this, Cyclizar persisted.

Seeing its effort, Koraidon's attitude towards Cyclizar gradually improved, and it started teaching earnestly.

The move they were practicing this time seemed to be Dragon Pulse.

This is a special attack move, where you mobilize the Dragon Type Energy in your body to your mouth and then unleash it towards the enemy in one go.

Koraidon's teaching method was straightforward and simple, first demonstrating itself, then letting Cyclizar follow its moves to learn.

But from Cyclizar's perspective, it could only see Koraidon unleashing the Dragon Pulse but didn't know how to do it itself.

Therefore, Cyclizar never quite grasped the essentials of this move.

Naoki watched from the side for a while before speaking up, "Try concentrating the Dragon Type Energy in your body into your mouth?"

Hearing this, Koraidon let out a helpless growl, "Agh..."

This technique had already been explained to Cyclizar, but Cyclizar, or rather its past self, wasn't too smart.

"Gao?"

Cyclizar blinked, then tried again.

It gathered all the Dragon Type Energy in its body into its mouth, causing its cheeks to puff up with the large amount of energy.

Naoki said, "Yes, just like that! Spit it out!"

Cyclizar tried hard to spit them out, but failed, swallowing all that energy down its stomach in one gulp.

Cyclizar opened its mouth wide, as if it burped, letting out a puff of air.

Naoki: "..."

Koraidon: "..."

It couldn't even look directly.

Cyclizar's face turned bright red, and its eyes moistened, looking as if it might cry,

"Gao..."

"Alright, alright, take your time, no rush." Naoki stepped forward to comfort it.

Cyclizar nodded and started practicing earnestly again.

Naoki watched for a while longer, then left the time to Koraidon and Cyclizar, and returned to the house to continue his work.

On the grass, Koraidon continued guiding Cyclizar in learning the move.

Looking at the diligent Cyclizar, Koraidon gradually recalled its past self.

It thought of many things, maybe when it was still a Cyclizar, that Koraidon viewed it this way?

Back when it was about to fall into the Time Machine, the other tried to stop it with all its might, but failed.

At that time, perhaps that Koraidon's heart had accepted it?

Koraidon was a bit confused, sometimes it couldn't even tell if it was Koraidon or Cyclizar.

Though it didn't know what all this was about, for it, as long as it could return to Naoki's side, that was enough.

Looking at its past self earnestly learning, Koraidon thought perhaps its past self wasn't that foolish either?

Wait a minute!

If it and Cyclizar were the same entity, it meant it had been disdaining itself all along?

Koraidon suddenly realized this.

It couldn't help but think, maybe it should treat itself better, and together with Naoki, make itself as smart and sensible as it is now.

The summer night sky was always so beautiful.

Dragonite lay as usual on the grass, watching the stars in the sky.

The gentle evening breeze blew across its body, as if Naoki were giving it a massage.

Dragonite felt very comfortable.

Suddenly, a rustling sound of footsteps came from the side.

Dragonite turned its head and saw Cyclizar approaching.

In its mind, it recalled Cyclizar's daily training appearances with Koraidon, and remembered Cyclizar once saying it was afraid of Koraidon.

Dragonite couldn't help but ask, "Oow?" (Are you not afraid of Koraidon anymore?)

Cyclizar shook its head, answering with some confusion, "Gao..." (I don't know why, it seems to be less scary now...)

Dragonite appeared very happy.

"Oow!" (That's right! Koraidon is actually a very good Pokemon! It even taught me Dragon Tail!)

Hearing this, Cyclizar showed a silly grin.

But soon, it looked down in disappointment: "Gao..."

Because it still couldn't master Dragon Pulse.

"Oow..." Dragonite shook its head, indicating that it couldn't either.

The two Pokemon sat in silence, looking worried, on the grass.

Just then, Naoki, who had finished washing up, came out to check on the Chicken House, and saw Dragonite and Cyclizar as he passed by.

"I was wondering why I didn't see you in the house, turns out you guys came here to look at the stars?" Naoki walked over with a smile and sat down next to the two Pokemon: "What's up? You both seem a bit down?"
