Chapter 190 - Chapter 147: He's Really... I'm Crying to Death (5k)

By the time Naoki finished the work at the ranch, it was already nearing noon.

The giant watermelon in the ranch was truly hard to miss.

Before making lunch, Naoki came to the field again, circling the big watermelon, pausing to observe and occasionally giving it a pat.

[Giant Watermelon: A kind of giant crop influenced by the Grass Energy of Gogoat, combined with some mysterious force.]

Reading the description of this watermelon and recalling yesterday's events, the owner of the "mysterious force" was now quite apparent.

After a moment of contemplation, Naoki went back indoors to start making lunch.

Today's lunch was once again pan-fried meat patties and sandwiches, with Lucky Pudding, honey lemon water, small bread, and Berries to complete a meal that wasn't particularly lavish.

Though simple, it was a favorite among the Pokemon.

The thick-cut, oil-sizzling meat patties were tender and juicy, and the sandwiches with lettuce, tomatoes, and meat patties were nutritionally balanced. Even ordinary Berries could provide abundant nutrition for the Pokemon.

After the meal, drinking a cup of honey lemon water, sitting in the shadow under the eaves, enjoying the breeze while eating small bread and Berries, even the proud Glaceon showed a contented expression.

Koraidon, Cyclizar, Dragonite, Pawmo, Glaceon, Alcremie, and the other Pokemon each took a cup of lemon water, sitting in a row under the eaves from large to small.

Seeing them like this, Naoki smiled and shook his head, then sat at his desk to think about whom to invite the next day.

First, Mayor Thomas, who had always been very supportive, definitely needed an invitation.

This elderly man had been helping him since he first arrived, even gifting him a Cyclizar as an assistant.

Next were the people he knew in town.

Keri, living by the forest, the postman Allen, the Seed Shop Owner Elo and his family, the old man from Happy Ranch and his granddaughter Mei, and Zack, who came to the ranch to collect goods daily.

Lastly, the owners of nearby farms.

For example, Elif from Elif Cherry Garden, Ray from Thunder Ranch, Green from Light Green Ranch, and Mrs. Bobbi from Bobbi Farm...

Naoki wrote a letter to each of them using the town's way of notifying about festivals, then called Dragonite and put some of the letters in its red little satchel.

"Huh?" Dragonite looked puzzled as Naoki put the satchel around its neck.

Naoki: "Could you please deliver these letters to Mr. Elif at Elif Cherry Garden, Mrs. Dantes in town, and Mr. Elo?"

Delivering letters, huh?

Dragonite nodded, happily accepted the task, and then skillfully flew towards the town.

Meanwhile, Naoki contacted Allen by phone.

Since he hadn't visited the other farms except Elif Cherry Garden and didn't know their locations, he decided to leave it all to Allen for delivery.

Allen, who was working, immediately hurried over after receiving the call.

Naoki handed the remaining letters to him and asked, "Do you have time tomorrow morning?"

"Tomorrow morning?" Allen was a bit surprised, "Why? Do you need my help with something?"

"No," Naoki shook his head, "I just wanted to invite you to the ranch for an event. There's going to be a watermelon-eating event here at nine tomorrow morning."

"Watermelon? Where's the watermelon?"

Allen thought to himself that in this season, the watermelons should have just been planted, right?

Though they could be grown in a greenhouse, it seemed that Naoki Ranch didn't have one yet.

Allen turned his head to look around, and the next second, he saw an enormously huge watermelon in the field.

Allen: "!!!"

He exclaimed in shock, "Is that the watermelon I know?"

Naoki laughed, "Why don't you go and have a look?"

Sure enough, Allen went over.

He ran to the field, circled the big watermelon twice, reached out to touch it, and saw that the watermelon was still connected to the vine, not picked yet.

What does this mean?

This meant that the big watermelon was not a model; it was real!

Allen was utterly shocked, turning to Naoki and exclaiming, "How did you grow this?"

"Do you really want to know?" Naoki asked.

"Of course, tell me quickly!" Allen paused, looked around, and whispered, "I promise I won't tell anyone!"

"Then come with me," Naoki led him to the statue of Calyrex The King of Bountiful Harvests, "It's all this Pokemon's blessing."

Looking at the big-headed Pokemon in the shrine, Allen couldn't help but ask, "What Pokemon is that?"

"Calyrex The King of Bountiful Harvests," explained Naoki concisely, introducing the legend of Calyrex to Allen.

Although half of the credit belonged to Gogoat, as long as he continued to feed Calyrex the Green Grass Cake, Calyrex could do it himself.

After all, it was a Grass Type Pokemon too.

Under Allen's astonished gaze, Naoki added:

"If you're growing anything at home, you can also trust in Calyrex or, like me, set up a statue to worship Him. He will bless your crops with a bountiful harvest."

Allen swallowed hard, nodding, "I got it." This world indeed had such incredible Pokemon!

"Where did you buy your statue?" Allen quickly asked.

He decided! He would buy one to take home!

His grandmother particularly loved to plant things, and their yard was already full of Berry trees and a garden.
