Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 - Training Day

The sun dipped over the middle size pond, scattering golden streaks across the waves.

The air was heavy with clear and wind which is perfect for training.

Standing at the rocky shore, William Walker adjusted the glove on his right hand, eyes sharp as he watched the water.

Beside him stood his Pokémon team — Shocker the Electabuzz, Ralts, and Eevee, each waiting quietly for their Trainer's command.

A new Poké Ball gleamed at his belt. The one he had captured earlier that day from the attack from the group of Sharpedo.

Inside it was the newest addition to his team.

William smiled faintly. "Alright. Let's meet our new ally."

He pressed the release button on the PokeBall.

With a burst of light, a dark blue form materialized, slicing through the shallows with a fierce hiss of water. Sharpedo, the Brutal Pokémon, glided into view and its yellow eyes gleaming, its fins cutting the surface like blades.

It let out a sharp growl, baring rows of teeth. "Sharrrr–pedo!"

Eevee's ears flattened immediately, tail bristling. Ralts hid behind William's leg. Shocker tensed but very energetic with so much vitality, lightning sparking from his forearms.

William's eyes narrowed not in fear, but in analysis.

"Good instincts, everyone," he said calmly. "He's testing dominance. Nothing more."

Sharpedo's gaze locked onto him, a predatory glint in its eyes. It circled closer, water rippling with each movement.

"Trying to see if I'm prey, huh? You know we are the one who knocked you out, right?" William murmured.

He stepped closer to the edge, his calm presence cutting through the tension like a blade.

The moment Sharpedo lunged forward, jaws wide and then William moved.

"Shocker uses Thunder Shock, but hold back a little."

Lightning leapt from Electabuzz's palm, striking the water just inches from Sharpedo's snout. The electric shockwave fizzed across the surface. Sharpedo halted mid-charge, eyes wide, water foaming around it.

William's expression didn't change. "Lesson one: control your aggression. We're not your enemies."

Sharpedo growled, then slowly lowered its fins, recognizing authority.

William smiled faintly. "Good. That's the reaction I wanted."

He crouched, meeting Sharpedo's glare without flinching. "You've got power. I respect that. But if you stay wild, you'll never grow stronger. Join me, and I'll make sure you are going to be the peak of your species. I will make sure of it."

For a moment, Sharpedo stared at him, silent. Then it let out a low rumble and bowed its head.

William reached forward and touched its rough skin. The Pokémon didn't resist.

"Welcome to the team, Jaw."

Shocker grinned, folding his arms. "Electa."

Eevee chirped cautiously. "Vee…"

Even Ralts peeked out from behind William's coat and waved shyly.

Sharpedo blinked at them all, then splashed water in a playful flick, a sharp, but not hostile gesture.

William chuckled. "That's his way of saying hi. Alright team, introductions done. Let's train."

William stepped onto the rocky platform jutting into the sea.

"Sharpedo, start with Aqua Jet!"

The Brutal Pokémon roared forward, its body blurring into a streak of water. It slammed through the waves like a torpedo, spraying foam high into the air.

"Speed's good," William noted. "But you're wasting energy on drag. Redirect your fins and think sharper, not faster."

Sharpedo growled in acknowledgment and tried again, this time moving cleaner, smoother, cutting through the water like living steel.

Eevee watched closely from the shore, eyes glinting with curiosity. William pointed at him next.

"Eevee uses Quick Attack, try to match his speed on land."

Eevee's body became a brown blur, darting over rocks and sand, synchronized with Sharpedo's water movement.

"Ralts observe their rhythm and project a Confusion Pulse based on the timing."

"Raaalts!" The small Psychic Pokémon focused, its aura expanding like a shimmering ripple that synced to the flow of both movements.

The result was beautiful with flashes of energy and water intertwining, rhythmically crashing in harmony.

William's expression softened. "Good. You're starting to understand each other."

Shocker cracked his knuckles, grinning. "Electa-buzz!"

William nodded. "Your turn. Hit the water with low voltage Thunder Wave across the water. Control, not destruction."

Shocker's eyes glowed yellow. Bolts lanced across the water in delicate arcs. Sharpedo swam through them fearlessly, sparks dancing along its fin but never enough to hurt.

William watched silently, every muscle relaxed yet aware.

This was what he enjoyed seeing instinct evolve into unity.

Later that evening, the group gathered around a small campfire near the shore.

Eevee nibbled on Poké biscuits. Ralts levitated small glowing stones in circles. Shocker roasted Oran berries on a stick, occasionally zapping them for flavor.

Sharpedo lay half in the water, eyes half-closed, watching the flickering flames.

William sat silently, notebook in hand, writing down data. "Razor's bite pressure stabilizes after four Aqua Jets. Stamina loss: moderate. Potential synergy with Electabuzz's Discharge which is very high."

He paused, gazing at the sea. The moonlight painted the waves silver.

For a long time, there was only the sound of the insect and silent.

Then Sharpedo let out a low rumble. It wasn't hostile, more like a growl of curiosity.

William glanced up. "You're wondering why I train you all this way, huh?"

The shark tilted its head.

He smiled faintly. "Because battles aren't just about power. It's about trust. Predicting one another without words."

Eevee hopped into his lap, curling up.

Ralts leaned against his arm, eyes glowing softly.

Shocker smirked, tossing a cooked berry toward Jaw, who caught it mid-air with his teeth.

For the first time, the fierce sea predator gave a small, rumbling laugh.

William leaned back against a rock, gazing at the stars.

"Tomorrow, we head for Pewter City. Brock's Gym specializes in Rock-types. Your water speed, Razor, will give us an edge. Shocker, you'll support from the flanks. Eevee and Ralts should focus on adaptability."

He looked at each of them in turn.

"You're not just my team. You're my family."

A soft breeze blew, and for a moment, William's aura flared faintly with a deep blue glow that pulsed like a heartbeat. His Pokémon instinctively felt it the bond that connected them all.

As the night deepened, William closed his notebook and looked toward the horizon.

The stars reflected in his eyes like shards of memory.

Different world, different rules… but some things never change.

He stood and faced the ocean one last time.

"Let's go, team," he said quietly. "Tomorrow, we rise to the next level."

The night is silent with only the voice of his pokemons. Sharpedo growled softly. Ralts hummed. Eevee's tail flicked playfully. Shocker sparked his fists.

Together, under the moonlit sky, the team prepared for the dawn and the challenge waiting in Pewter City.
