The Rare Card Hunter drew a card and began contemplating the three set cards in Youyu's backfield.
With only 500 LP and using Black Magician in attack position... Is he trying to bait me into attacking? Does that mean one of those three set cards is a reversal move?
The card on the far left was set during the last turn. If it could be activated, it should've been used during the last attack, so it's likely just a bluff.
So the only ones to watch out for are the two cards set just last turn.
He chuckled and drew a card from his hand, "Even if you're bluffing, I'll still play it safe...
Activate Magic Card - De-Spell!
With this card's effect, I can check one of the set cards on the field. If it's a Magic Card, it's destroyed. If it's a Trap Card, it returns to its original position."
Youyu raised an eyebrow.
"Heh, I'll choose... the card on the far right!"
Youyu stood calmly with his arms crossed. The card set beside him was involuntarily revealed under the effect of De-Spell.

"A double trap!?" The Rare Card Hunter was shocked but didn't admit defeat, "Then I'll open my set card too, Counter Trap - Trap Jammer!

The Rare Card Hunter sneered, "The activation of Covering Fire is negated, so Black Magician's attack won't increase and remains at 2500 points!

However, at this decisive moment, Youyu curved his lips into a victorious smile.

The Rare Card Hunter was shocked, then suddenly realized something.

His pupils contracted, staring wide-eyed in disbelief.

Featherman posed dramatically in a Dragon Ball power-up fashion, shouted in a deep voice, and seemed to ignite with green flames. His power transferred to Black Magician under the Trap Card effect.

The massive machina unleashed a barrage of attacks at Black Magician, but in this now-reversed situation, they posed no threat.
Black Magician extended a hand, a dark red magic array forming in his palm to effortlessly block all the attacks. Ammunition deflected off the array, missiles exploding in brilliant flames and smoke, unable to penetrate the defense.
Then Black Magician calmly raised his Magic Staff, a thunderous green magic sphere forming at its tip.
Dark Magic!
The magical blast mercilessly pierced through the robot's body. The giant machina shuddered, torn open from front to back, electricity sparking out. Finally, it exploded with a mournful electric howl, breaking into pieces.

The Rare Card Hunter stared blankly at the vanished hologram before him.
"No... no way? My strongest fusion mecha was defeated?"
It took him nearly a minute to recover, but he was already in a state of extreme confusion.
"Damn, there must be some other way!"
He frantically checked his hand, inspected the graveyard, searching for any possible means to fight back.
But clearly, the hunter was so shaken that he wasn't quite lucid. By the end of the turn's operation time as per the rules, he couldn't play a single card, not even remembering to switch the now 0 attack Commander Covington to defense position.
Of course, switching to defense position wouldn't have changed the outcome anyway.
"My turn! This time it really is the last turn."
Youyu commanded, "Black Magician, attack Commander Covington!"
The magician leapt forward, piercing through Commander Covington, who was at 0 attack, with dark magic, also taking the last of the Rare Card Hunter's LP.
"Argh! No!!!"
