The five pieces of Exodia!
Kaiba Gozaburo selected five cards and projected them in front of Youyu, looking smug, apparently expecting to see a shocked expression on his face.
"How about it? Exodia is not your exclusive domain." Gozaburo said with a smug smile.
However, Youyu remained expressionless, casually pointing at the "Exodia the Forbidden One" card—specifically, the top half of the Dark Great Mage.
"Add this to my hand," he said.
It didn't matter which one; Gozaburo would discard it soon anyway.
Failing to see the surprised expression on Youyu's face, Gozaburo seemed a bit disappointed. But he snorted and continued his operation: "Then I'll continue my turn.
According to the effect of 'Painful Choice,' send 'four pieces of Exodia' to the graveyard, and I'll add 'Exodia the Forbidden One' to my hand.
Then I activate Quick-Play Magic - Hand Destruction from my hand!"
A green Magic Card appeared in front of Gozaburo, with a card image of a sword-wielding warrior, around whom four cards flew.
"Both players send two cards from their hands to the graveyard," Gozaburo discarded two hand cards to the graveyard area, "then draw two cards."
Youyu silently discarded his hand cards and drew two cards.
He knew that Gozaburo had discarded the last piece of the Dark Great Mage to the graveyard, thus completing the five pieces of the old Egyptian in Gozaburo's graveyard.
He was even more acutely aware of what Gozaburo was planning to do next.
"Heh, at this moment, your defeat is already sealed!" Gozaburo suddenly laughed, "Activating the Magic Card - 'Contract with Exodia' from my hand!"
The image of magic appeared, with the terrifying face of the Egyptian Envoy in the center of the card art. The huge head was surrounded by five stone tablets, each clearly inscribed with the Rune of Life in Ancient Egypt, surrounded by currents of electricity.
Gozaburo explained with a cold smile: "This is a Magic Card that can only be activated when all five pieces of Exodia are in the graveyard simultaneously. This card will directly guide you to your destiny of defeat, summoning a monster that you couldn't even imagine..."
"The Undead of Exodia." Youyu blurted out.
"What!?" Gozaburo was shocked.
As soon as Youyu finished speaking, the pitch-black Mage had descended onto Gozaburo's field.
He looked exactly like the Dark Great Mage, but was entirely black in color, with eyes flashing dangerous red glints, and his body was enveloped in a tremendously ominous aura of death.
[The Undead of Exodia, Attack Power 1800]
Gozaburo looked at Youyu with a hint of suspicion.
The Undead of Exodia was supposed to be a card he specifically prepared to deal with Seto (his own custom-made). Because he knew that Kaiba's biggest shadow in his heart after being defeated by Yugi was the Dark Great Mage, so he specifically created this "invincible" monster to deal with Kaiba.
But this was supposed to be his ace in the sleeve, and no one else in the world should have this card. How did this boy know?
No, before that, it's a mystery how the opponent was able to wield the power of the Egyptian God in the Virtual World...
However, he quickly forced himself to calm down.
After all, this is still the Virtual World, a space he dominates. Here, he is absolutely invincible; there is nothing to fear.
He glanced at the summoned "Undead of Exodia" on his field, snorted with a chuckle, and felt more assured.
The Undead of Exodia is an absolutely invincible monster (he thinks), no matter what strange cards the opponent uses, nothing can defeat this monster!
Though Kaiba Gozaburo had become a computer program, his consciousness was still fundamentally human, not yet transcending human fixed thinking.
Simply put, although the old guy could no longer be considered human, as an AI he's still just a half-baked, quite a failed existence actually.
"Battle." Gozaburo gave a direct order, "Attack 'Neo-Spacian Air Hummingbird' with the Undead of Exodia!"
The pitch-black undead flew forward, thrusting out a huge fist. The powerful punch, like a mighty wave, instantly tore apart and pulverized the tiny hummingbird.
"At this moment, the effect of 'The Undead of Exodia' activates." Gozaburo snorted, "'The Undead of Exodia' is an invincible monster that gains 1000 attack power each time it finishes a battle!"
[The Undead of Exodia, Attack Power 1800 → Attack Power 2800]
As Gozaburo spoke, he waved his hand, and the image of the five pieces of the old Egyptian resting in his graveyard appeared before him.
"Look! The parts of the Egyptian Envoy slumbering in the graveyard bestow boundless power upon the Undead!
While Exodia the Forbidden One is in the graveyard, the Undead cannot be destroyed by battle.
While the Left Leg of the Forbidden One is in the graveyard, the Undead cannot be destroyed by Magic Card effects.
While the Right Leg of the Forbidden One is in the graveyard, the Undead cannot be destroyed by Trap Card effects.
While the Left Arm of the Forbidden One is in the graveyard, the Undead cannot be destroyed by Effect Monster effects.
While the Right Arm of the Forbidden One is in the graveyard, the Undead's attack power increases by 1000 at the end of every battle damage step!"
Gozaburo grew increasingly confident as he spoke, finally bursting into hearty laughter.
"How about it? This monster is invincible and absolutely undefeatable!"
Youyu remained calm: "So are you done then?"
"Hmph, pretending to be calm? But from the moment this monster was summoned, the duel's outcome was sealed. My turn is over.
Come on, if you can defeat this unbeatable monster, give it a try."
"Is that so?" Youyu smiled lightly, "Since you said that, I won't hold back. My turn, draw!"
He glanced at his hand and first played a Magic Card: "I activate the Magic Card - Upstart Goblin from my hand! I draw a card from my deck, and the opponent gains 1000 LP."
Though many powerful drawing filter cards were removed from the Deck list by that Noah brat after his Dark Great Mage deck instantly defeated Sonichiro, Upstart Goblin remained.
Perhaps Noah thought this card, which only draws one card and even has a "huge negative effect" of granting the opponent 1000 LP, was useless and left it alone.
[Gozaburo, LP 4000→ LP 5000]
"Hmph, actually giving me 1000 LP voluntarily?" Gozaburo sneered, "Is this giving up and seeking your own demise?"
"You'll soon find out if I'm seeking my own demise." Youyu sent the card to the graveyard and then played his next card, "I activate the Magic Card - Convert Contact from my hand!
This card can only be activated when I control no monsters on my field. Send one "Neo-Spacian" monster each from my hand and deck to the graveyard, then draw two cards from my deck.
I send 'Neo-Spacian Grand Mole' from my hand and 'Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin' from my deck to the graveyard, and draw two cards from my deck."
For some reason, watching Youyu send cards to the graveyard and draw cards, a deep sense of foreboding arose from within Gozaburo's heart...
