"It's not a problem if Teacher Mokgetsu is willing to become the head teacher of Class 6 of Year 4," Shiranui Genma said with a chuckle.
"Yeah, Teacher Mokgetsu, please become the head teacher of Class 3 of Year 4, so we can be taught by you often."
"Class 1 of Year 4 too."
The students of Class 2 of Year 4 just smiled without saying anything; they believed that as long as Iketani Isamu was around, Teacher Mokgetsu would be their teacher.
"No, no, that's absolutely not possible. Teacher Mokgetsu can only be the head teacher of Class 1 of Year 1," Anko stood protectively in front of Mokgetsu, looking cautiously at the surrounding students.
"Let's all share the cake. If you let me eat this whole cake by myself, you probably won't see your Teacher Mokgetsu again," Mokgetsu said with a relaxed smile.
Hearing Mokgetsu's words, the students temporarily stopped fighting over Mokgetsu and started taking slices of cake one by one.
Finding it too slow to do it alone, Mokgetsu created several Shadow Clones to help cut the cake.
"The only thing the old man did right this year was inviting Teacher Mokgetsu to be a tutor," Asuma thought to himself while eating the cake.
Due to the different financial situations of the students, those who could afford it contributed a bit more, while those who couldn't helped out in other ways. Asuma had contributed most of his saved-up pocket money, making him the biggest contributor.
Then, while eating cake, everyone started chatting about interesting things that happened during training.
"Ebisu, I have some good news for you," Hagane Kotetsu said excitedly to Ebisu.
"What good news?" Ebisu asked with a bit of frustration, still not understanding why he'd been criticized.
"Your reputation as a genius has reached the ears of the Hokage!" Kotetsu responded.
"Ebisu, you really should treat Kotetsu to something this time; he risked a lot to bring his achievements to the teachers," Kamizuki Izumo said with a smile.
"What reputation as a genius?" Ebisu sensed something was off, his mind faintly forming a very dreadful conclusion, coupled with the reason for his unprovoked scolding.
"This is what happened: I overheard Teacher Mokgetsu mentioning my name, and since the Hokage was right there beside him, I deliberately shouted your name, Ebisu, as the major contributor to perfecting the Deception Jutsu," Kotetsu said proudly.
"But don't worry about it, Ebisu. Consider it repayment for your teachings to us," Kotetsu added generously.
"In front of the Hokage..." Ebisu's face turned pale. It seemed his ninja career might be over before it even began.
"Ebisu, why aren't you laughing? Don't you like to smile?" Izumo sensed something was off with Ebisu.
His fists clenched involuntarily.
"I really should treat you two to something to eat. Here, have some cake!" Ebisu finally snapped and smeared the unfinished cake onto their faces.
That started a chain reaction, leading to a cake fight.
Even though everyone ended up quite messy, most of them were very happy.
"There's no need to be sad, everyone. It's not like I'm leaving the Ninja School. If you have any problems, you can always come to me. I'll always be your Teacher Mokgetsu," Mokgetsu said at the end.
Mokgetsu was in a great mood today; his chakra got a slight boost, marking this as the second gift since his time travel.
On his way home, Asuma saw the Third Hokage waiting for him.
Asuma, recalling Mokgetsu's words, felt a bit moved inside, and opened his mouth to ask, "How did my combat feel today?"
"Too many mistakes. If it were me, I could think of over a hundred ways to secure victory," Sarutobi Hiruzen replied, shaking his head.
Asuma's face darkened as he walked past Sarutobi Hiruzen's shadow, heading home.
