Chapter 99 - Chapter 15: Differences in Breathing Techniques

Unable to hold it in any longer, Ebisu went straight to find Hagane Kotetsu and Kamizuki Izumo.

"Brother Ebisu!" Seeing Ebisu, both Hagane Kotetsu and Kamizuki Izumo greeted him enthusiastically.

Although the two had a genuinely respectful demeanor, Ebisu couldn't help but suppress his anger and asked:

"Are you two spreading rumors about me?"

Hagane Kotetsu shook his head and said, "How could that be, Brother Ebisu, you have favored us with such guidance, why would we harm you?"

"Yeah, Brother Ebisu, perhaps you've listened to the slander of others," Kamizuki Izumo analyzed.

"Now all three groups are spreading the word that your new Deception Jutsu was led by me; what's going on?" Ebisu said with a darkened face.

"We never said such a thing." Both shook their heads.

They just mentioned that Ebisu's contribution was significant.

"Enough about the unhappy stuff, Brother Ebisu, let me show you something good," Hagane Kotetsu gestured for Ebisu to come closer and then took out a novel.

"Without this novel, Izumo and I wouldn't have been able to perfect the Deception Jutsu. I think Brother Ebisu can learn something from it too."

Ebisu, doubtful, opened the book to take a look and quickly closed it when he saw the content, glancing around.

"Ahem, this book is indeed quite good. Let me keep it safe for you for a while," Ebisu decided to forgive the two youngsters for now.

"Oh, and find me during lunch break, let me see how your Ninjutsu training is going," Ebisu added before leaving.

...

As soon as Obito entered the training ground, he eagerly sought out Nohara Rin.

"Rin, do you want a teacher?"

"Hmm?" Nohara Rin looked at Obito, puzzled.

"I mean, do you want to train with Teacher Mokgetsu?" Obito pulled Nohara Rin aside and asked.

"Aren't we all training with Teacher Mokgetsu right now?" Nohara Rin grew even more confused.

Obito scratched his head, feeling he'd been clear enough.

"Not the usual daytime training, but receiving guidance from Teacher Mokgetsu after class," Obito explained.

"You mean you're asking if I want to become Teacher Mokgetsu's student?" Nohara Rin summarized Obito's meaning.

Seeing that Nohara Rin finally understood his intention, Obito nodded with satisfaction.

"Teacher Mokgetsu is amazing. If he teaches you, you'll surely get strong quickly," Obito said.

Since Mokgetsu didn't allow his students to publicly declare their teacher-student relationship, Obito didn't directly say that it was becoming Mokgetsu's student that led to his rapid improvement.

Nohara Rin, of course, knew Mokgetsu's teaching skills were outstanding because their class was often substituted by Mokgetsu.

However, Nohara Rin acutely sensed that there might be more to Obito's praise than merely excellent teaching.

Considering Obito's sudden words to her and his progress over the past few months,

Nohara Rin speculated that perhaps it was becoming Mokgetsu's student that led to such drastic changes in Obito in recent months.

"If you're willing, Rin, come with me to a place after dinner tonight," Obito said.

"Will it trouble you and Teacher Mokgetsu?" Nohara Rin didn't agree immediately and asked Obito.

"No trouble, no trouble." Seeing that Nohara Rin was inclined to agree, Obito quickly replied.

He'd already spoken to Mokgetsu, and all Nohara Rin needed to do was show up.

In the end, Nohara Rin nodded and agreed.

Having a good teacher was definitely beneficial, and Nohara Rin already had a good impression of Mokgetsu. Plus, with Obito's strong recommendation, her curiosity about Mokgetsu only grew.

What exactly did Mokgetsu teach that resulted in Obito's dramatic transformation in just a few months?

During class, Nohara Rin glanced at Mokgetsu a few more times, noticing his great skin but not much else.

Mokgetsu noticed the reward for lecturing, sensed Nohara Rin's gaze, and smiled warmly in response.

[Completed a large class teaching]

[Rating: A]

[Rewards obtained: Fierce·Leaf Vajra Whirlwind, Chakra Scalpel]

The rewards were not bad; one was Might Guy's favorite Leaf Whirlwind series of Taijutsu, and the other was Advanced Medical Ninjutsu, with considerable power in real combat.

After class, Mokgetsu first returned to the main area to have dinner and then went to the Southern Border Forest to train with his students.

This time, however, there was one more person present besides the three students: Nohara Rin.

When Nohara Rin arrived, she coincidentally saw Shisui and Might Guy training, feeling a bit amazed.

She had no idea that Shisui was also Mokgetsu's student, heightening her curiosity about Mokgetsu.

Upon noticing Mokgetsu's arrival, the four all greeted him: "Teacher Mokgetsu."

"Good evening, everyone," Mokgetsu smiled gently.

"Teacher Mokgetsu seems the same in private as he is at school and the training ground," Nohara Rin thought to herself.

Although she hadn't directly communicated with Mokgetsu face-to-face, they had already exchanged through Obito's channel, so there weren't any surprises, and she smoothly became a student.

"Your Chakra Control Ability is quite good; would you like to try learning Medical Ninjutsu?" Mokgetsu asked.

He remembered hearing that Nohara Rin had some talent in Medical Ninjutsu, having mastered the Mystical Palm Jutsu, an Advanced Medical Ninjutsu, already at the age of twelve.

"Medical Ninjutsu..." Nohara Rin thought for a moment, her eyes brightening before she nodded.

She felt it was a good choice, and there were renowned figures in the Ninja World like Tsunade among Medical Ninja.

Tsunade was an idol for many in Konoha, Nohara Rin included.

"Let's start with the basics of the Healing Technique." Seeing Nohara Rin's interest, Mokgetsu suggested.

The healing type Medical Ninjutsu, of course, included not just advanced jutsu like the Mystical Palm Jutsu but also lower-level techniques such as the Healing Technique and Hemostasis Technique.

Since it was Nohara Rin's first contact with Medical Ninjutsu, Mokgetsu began by teaching some theoretical knowledge rather than diving right into practical training.

After the students departed, Mokgetsu remained alone in the Southern Border Forest, practicing his Breathing Technique.

In a Constant State Realm, even sleeping enhances one's training, but additional practice still yields extra benefits.

Mokgetsu was now fully aware of the advantages and disadvantages of both Breathing Techniques; he generally used the Breath of Rock in Constant State because of its stronger effect on physical training, while the Breath of Flame was advantageous in combat, enhancing Fire Release.

He was planning a Breathing Technique cultivation schedule for his students. Once completed, he'd have all students, except the newcomer Nohara Rin, collectively practice the Breathing Technique.

The reason was that neither of these Breathing Techniques suited Nohara Rin, making it unlikely she could learn them.
