Shisui had just returned home not long ago when an unexpected visitor arrived.
"Clan Leader." Shisui greeted Uchiha Fugaku.
"No need to be so formal, just call me uncle. I once fought alongside your father." Uchiha Fugaku said with a smile.
"Alright, Uncle Fugaku." Shisui nodded in agreement.
"Is there something you need from me today?" Shisui asked.
He didn't think that Uchiha Fugaku, the clan leader of the Uchiha, would come looking for him without a reason, as he wasn't his actual uncle.
"It's nothing much, it's that time again to distribute rewards to outstanding Uchihas. I had some free time, so I thought I'd bring yours and see the Uchiha genius." Uchiha Fugaku said cheerfully.
"Thank you very much." Shisui expressed his gratitude.
He wasn't particularly concerned about the so-called reward. Even though Shisui didn't have parents or grandparents, he wasn't short on money.
His parents left him a considerable inheritance, which would be enough to last him a lifetime even without becoming a ninja.
"Hahaha, it's no trouble, and it's not far." Uchiha Fugaku laughed.
"Shisui, do you have any plans for the future?" Uchiha Fugaku suddenly asked.
After arranging the items he was going to give, Uchiha Fugaku continued:
"I heard that you have the strength to defeat graduating Genin. Have you considered graduating early? The Ninja Academy's courses might not be of much help to you anymore."
"If you graduate early, I can make an exception and directly transfer you to the Police Squad, and then you can learn from the Jonin in our clan."
Normally, freshly graduated Genin can't directly join the Police Squad but need guidance from a Jonin. However, since Uchiha Fugaku is the head, he thought applying to the Third Hokage might not be an issue.
After hearing this, Shisui inwardly shook his head. He had asked Mokgetsu about early graduation long ago, and he felt Mokgetsu's suggestion was excellent. Moreover, he didn't think the Uchiha Jonin could surpass Mokgetsu in strength or teaching ability.
However, since Uchiha Fugaku, the clan leader, personally came to see him, Shisui felt it wouldn't be polite to outright decline, so after a moment, he tactfully replied:
"Uncle Fugaku, I feel that I am still some distance away from being an official ninja in terms of overall ability, so I don't have plans to graduate early yet."
"That's fine too; I didn't expect someone as young as you to be so steady. You are bound to accomplish great things in the future." Though declined, Uchiha Fugaku didn't show any displeasure but instead gave him a compliment.
"Aren't you quite close to Uchiha Obito? I heard Obito has made great progress recently and has also been recognized as an outstanding Uchiha." Uchiha Fugaku continued the conversation.
"Yes." Shisui nodded in acknowledgment. Mokgetsu only told them not to reveal that he was their teacher; he didn't require them to pretend to be strangers among themselves.
"What do you think of Uchiha Obito?" Uchiha Fugaku asked casually.
"He is an excellent Uchiha and works hard in his cultivation." Shisui answered directly.
Since Uchiha Fugaku asked directly, he responded directly too.
"You outstanding Uchihas should communicate more with each other. The future of the Uchiha Clan will depend on you all." Uchiha Fugaku nodded with a smile.
As Fugaku was about to leave, Shisui walked to the door to see him off.
"Konoha Police Department, huh..." Shisui shook his head.
What Uchiha Fugaku had to say held no appeal for him at all.
...
"Dad, I'm back." Might Guy, whose injuries were not severe, returned home soon after being treated with medical ninjutsu.
"Guy, how was the exam today? Did you unleash your youth to the fullest?" Might Duy asked.
"I lost to Obito today and only got second place in our year." Might Guy replied.
"But Obito was really strong today. Even though I gave it my all, I still couldn't beat him."
Slap!
Might Duy placed both hands heavily on Might Guy's shoulders, tears streaming down as he said:
"Guy, as long as you burn with youthful energy, even if you fail, you shouldn't be discouraged. Besides, being second is a good thing; it means you'll always have opponents to fight against."
"I'm not discouraged. I lost that battle fair and square, and besides, I've actually won more of my fights with Obito!" Might Guy said, giving a thumbs-up.
The battle today was purely because he was slightly behind in strength; Might Guy was clear about this, but he believed he could catch up soon.
"That's how youth should be, Guy; I'm proud of you." Seeing Might Guy's demeanor, Might Duy felt gratified, hugging Might Guy.
"After burning with youth, you have to fill your stomach too. I've already made food, and Guy, you should eat quickly." Might Duy brought the prepared meal to Might Guy.
As Might Guy was about to eat, their door was knocked on.
"Someone's knocking? That's rare. Could it be a client?" Might Duy went forward to open the door.
"I doubt it." Might Guy remarked, wondering why anyone would come looking for a Genin for a mission.
"Haha, it's not impossible. I'm a cat-finding expert acknowledged by Lord Hokage, after all." Might Duy laughed.
"Who are you?" Upon opening the door, Might Guy saw two ninjas he didn't recognize.
"Who's here?" Might Guy curiously peeked and his expression changed.
He didn't know their names, but their faces were familiar. They were the ones who had insulted his father not long ago and were then chased down by him for a beating.
