Chapter 147 - Chapter 54: Ninja Intern

"Are you practicing some terrifying kinjutsu powerful enough to destroy a town?" Obito couldn't help but ask.

To injure Sage Mokgetsu, whose strength was immeasurable, Obito's mind immediately spun tales of a terrifying ninjutsu.

"I can't say about destroying towns, but I do have a Fire Release that can burn down a forest," Mokgetsu replied with a smile.

"What kind of ninjutsu is it? Can you teach it now?" Obito looked at Mokgetsu with anticipation.

Shisui didn't need to look to know the outcome.

Smack!

Mokgetsu tapped Obito's head with two fingers and said:

"You should consider how much chakra you have now. You haven't even mastered the Impatiens Claw Red, and you're already thinking about new ninjutsu."

Indeed, he had quite a few powerful Fire Releases. Mighty Dragon Fire and Headache Fire Dragon Flame Bomb were all potent ninjutsu, but without enough chakra, they couldn't exert their power.

"Haha, Teacher Mokgetsu, you'd better hit me less often. Not because I'm afraid of pain, but because I'm worried about your hand," Obito chuckled.

Smack! Smack!

His words earned him a double smack.

"You don't need to worry too much about that. My recovery ability is pretty good," Mokgetsu said with a grin.

"Let's start practicing. This is the last step before the beginner level. Once you learn this, you only need to integrate what you learned in combat to master the Breathing Technique."

The beginner training ends with the cultivation of Full Concentration Breathing. After that, Obito and the others just need to integrate all the training content to truly master the Breathing Technique.

Hearing Mokgetsu say it's time to train, Obito stopped clowning around and focused on finding the Full Concentration Breathing sensation as Mokgetsu had just taught.

He entered the Breathing Technique state, then continued to intensify on the original technique. However, at first, Obito didn't feel the obvious change Mokgetsu mentioned.

"The effect will be better with exercise," Mokgetsu advised the two to move around and not perform the breathing in place.

After teaching Obito and Shisui, Mokgetsu went to check Might Guy's progress.

Might Guy had already started extreme physical training. At this stage, his progress in this training was still acceptable.

When Mokgetsu found Might Guy, his Breath of Rock skill level had reached thirty-nine.

Although it was still a bit behind Obito's fifty-two and Shisui's forty-eight, the growth rate was not slow, much faster than Mokgetsu had expected.

Breath of Rock doesn't have as many benefits as Breath of Flame. It can speed up nature transformation, enhance fire power, and strengthen body ability. Breath of Rock has only one effect which is to enhance body ability.

But this single effect also achieved extreme power. According to Mokgetsu's own tests, the body enhancement of Breath of Flame in Full Concentration Breathing state is not as good as Breath of Rock in ordinary breathing state. The training effect of Breath of Rock is also better.

Mokgetsu predicted that after all his disciples mastered the Breathing Technique, Obito would be suppressed by Might Guy for a while again.

...

On Saturday afternoon, Mokgetsu went to Sarutobi Hiruzen's house for tutoring as usual.

"Next, we will start practicing nature transformation," Mokgetsu said, introducing the upcoming teaching focus.

Nature transformation isn't really high-level training, but a ninja's must-learn subject.

Aside from people like Might Guy, who have pitiful ninjutsu talent, all ninjas generally practice nature transformation.

People like Sarutobi Hiruzen, with strong ninjutsu talent, have mastered all seven chakra nature changes, with three reaching the system's master level, and the rest, though not at master skill level, aren't low either.

But ordinary ninjas definitely can't achieve this. Ordinary ninjas usually choose to hone and refine their inherent chakra attribute.

Slightly more capable ninjas generally choose to practice one or two more chakra attributes to deal with various situations.

For example, Konoha Jonin generally master two or more chakra nature changes.

At the Jonin meeting, Mokgetsu identified many Jonin, most of whom had two skilled-level nature transformations, while some had three or four, though few had master-level nature transformations.

Mokgetsu used identification on Asuma's attributes. He didn't know what Asuma was thinking, practicing two attributes at such a young age.

Currently, Asuma's skill set has two chakra nature transformations—one wind, one fire, with a higher proficiency in fire. The wind attribute is just on the cusp of beginner level.

Although Mokgetsu knew some Wind Release ninjutsu, he decided not to show too much for now, so he chose to teach Asuma Fire Attribute Chakra Nature Changes and Fire Release.

Mokgetsu had several clear and legitimate Fire Releases, some from Danzo, others from Sarutobi Hiruzen, all usable openly.

And his proficiency in Fire Release was much higher than in Wind Release; not only had he reached a master level in Fire Attribute Chakra Nature Changes, but he also had many high-skill-level Fire Releases.

Since Asuma had already grasped part of nature transformation, Mokgetsu didn't teach from scratch like with Obito.

For ninjutsu, Mokgetsu chose the Mighty Dragon Fire that Sarutobi Hiruzen previously gave him.

The choice of Mighty Dragon Fire was twofold: it's a good ninjutsu, and it also portrayed an impressive ninjutsu talent in front of Sarutobi Hiruzen, having refined the Mighty Dragon Fire Jutsu B-level Fire Release to a teachable level in just over a month.
