Might Duy and Mokgetsu walked into the house together.
"Dad, welcome home," Might Guy said as he paused for a moment upon seeing Might Duy's appearance when he walked in.
Might Duy was greener than green, no, he was wearing a green Chunin waistcoat!
It was easy to recognize because Might Duy usually wore only green tights, so the addition of a waistcoat was noticeable at a glance.
"Dad, is that incredibly impressive and youthful thing you talked about..." Might Guy's eyes grew brighter, and his voice more and more excited as he spoke.
He thought of a possibility, one that made him immensely happy.
"That's right, it's just as you imagined!" Might Duy laughed heartily.
Might Duy gave a thumbs-up, revealing his white teeth, and laughed heartily as he said to Might Guy:
"Now I am not Konoha Genin Might Duy, but Konoha Chunin Might Duy!"
"Dad, you finally got promoted to Chunin, no one will ever say you're an eternal Genin again." Might Guy excitedly rushed forward to hug Might Duy.
Might Duy embraced Might Guy, both of them shedding tears of joy, looking extremely emotional.
Might Guy was happy that no one could call his father an eternal Genin again, while Might Duy was happy that he could provide more support to Might Guy.
Obito scratched his head, unable to comprehend this scene, as in Obito's understanding, being a Chunin wasn't that impressive; Kakashi became a Chunin at six.
However, Obito could still feel the deep bond between this father and son, Might Guy and Might Duy.
Shisui, watching this loving scene between father and son, thought of the short blade he carried, but wasn't too envious.
Kakashi was the one who could best understand the significance of Duy's Chunin promotion. He had known Might Guy for a long time. When they went to check their school entrance scores, the White Fang noticed Might Guy's potential and said Kakashi could be friends with Might Guy, as he might surpass Kakashi in the future.
So Kakashi knew a bit about Might Guy's family situation, and unlike his father, Might Guy's father, Might Duy, was not a renowned strong figure, just an eternal Genin who was looked down upon.
Might Duy himself didn't care about what others said, but Might Guy did. He wouldn't allow anyone to insult his father to his face, even confronting other ninja without considering his strength. If it hadn't been for Kakashi passing by and dealing with those two ninja, Might Guy would have surely been beaten.
Now that Might Duy had become a Chunin, the remarks of being an eternal Genin crumbled on their own, and the joy and excitement in Might Guy's heart were self-evident.
"Guy, you should thank Teacher Mokgetsu. This promotion is all thanks to him." Might Duy placed his hand on Might Guy's shoulder and said seriously.
The help Mokgetsu had extended to their family was indeed significant, not just in recommending him to the Third Hokage and providing secret medicine, but also by being Might Guy's teacher, Mokgetsu had done everything possible, taking all aspects into consideration.
"Yes, Teacher Mokgetsu, thank you for everything you've done for me. I'm really grateful!" Might Guy said, tears streaming down as he spoke.
Recalling his acquaintance with Mokgetsu, Might Guy sometimes felt a sense of unreal dreaminess.
From Mokgetsu, Might Guy truly felt a similar emotion to Might Duy, an unconditional kindness without seeking anything in return, simply happy with his growth.
But Might Guy never expected Mokgetsu to go this far, even helping his father get promoted and shedding the eternal Genin label.
This exceeded Might Guy's expectations. He thought Mokgetsu was already exceptionally kind to him, teaching him the powerful Kinjutsu, Breath of Rock, without reservation, and providing free monthly secret medicine to relieve fatigue and dark injuries.
With all this generosity, Might Guy naturally had no grievances, considering Mokgetsu's presence second only to Might Duy in his heart.
But Mokgetsu's help in Duy's promotion deepened Might Guy's appreciation for Mokgetsu's kindness.
Though Mokgetsu hadn't given a gift yet, Might Guy felt he had already received the greatest birthday gift, recognizing Mokgetsu's intentions.
"It was Senior Duy's strength; I just did what I could," Mokgetsu said with a smile, then took out a handkerchief to wipe Might Guy's tears.
Ordinarily, this wasn't something he would do, feeling it might be overstepping, but the timing and atmosphere were just right.
"After all, it's the all-capable Sage Mokgetsu." Obito chuckled as he handed a green attire to Might Guy.
"This is a gift, a special order tight-fitting attire, with a 'Guy' character on the chest in front."
Might Guy took the attire and unfolded it to see, just as Obito said, it had the character 'Guy' embroidered on the chest.
"Obito, you've got great taste!" Might Guy gave Obito a thumbs-up, complimenting him on the gift.
"I thought since you wear tight-fitting clothes all the time, you'd like it." Obito grinned proudly.
"This is my drawing." Nohara Rin smiled gently as she presented her gift.
Might Guy accepted the drawing and examined it carefully. It depicted scenes of their usual training in the forest, not only featuring Might Guy but others as well.
Might Guy was seen lifting a rock in a sweat-drenched workout, Shisui was seriously practicing Fire Release in front of a large fireball, and Obito was clutching his head, saying something, with Mokgetsu in a two-finger gesture state, creating a very warm and homely layout.
"Haha, the drawing's great, Obito's being hit expression matches reality perfectly," Might Guy laughed.
"Huh? Being hit?" Obito curiously peeked over and saw the part where he was being hit.
"Why am I the only one being hit while everyone else trains? Rin, you misunderstand me deeply," Obito said, feigning heartbreak.
"I just thought it would be more interesting," Nohara Rin chuckled innocently as she replied.
Shisui gave Might Guy a set of weighted ninja tools for training, while Kakashi handed over several cultivation elixirs.
"This is a compilation of Taijutsu cultivation insights I've written with your father. Even if we're not around in the future, you can follow the experiences in this notebook to train." Mokgetsu smiled, handing a notebook to Might Guy.
"Guy, your youthful journey is continuously moving forward!" Might Duy laughed to encourage him.
Might Guy nodded heavily. At that moment, a breeze blew in, flipping open the notebook to reveal various experiences regarding the Eight Gates and Breath of Rock, showing two distinctly different handwriting styles.
Might Guy's mind pictured the scene of the two deliberating and carefully writing their insights, once again brought to happy and excited tears.
"Teacher Mokgetsu, Dad, thank you for your gifts; I won't let you down!"
Mokgetsu smiled warmly, discovering a gold mine.
