Chapter 1125 - Chapter 550: Hokage Assistant Mokgetsu

Mokgetsu gave Karatachi Yagura some minor treatment and returned to the battlefield with his students.

When he used the Thoughtless Slash just now, he intentionally misaligned it, so Karatachi Yagura didn't die, he was just seriously injured.

However, only Karatachi Yagura didn't die; the other Hidden Mist who escaped with him were all dead.

Obito and the others didn't have the leisure to hold back, so they fought to kill, naturally making it difficult to leave any survivors.

"Commander Mokgetsu, is this Karatachi Yagura? Did you capture him alive?" Mimura Hamaki asked quickly, looking at the Karatachi Yagura held by Mokgetsu.

Capturing a strong figure like Karatachi Yagura alive was incredibly challenging.

At Yagura's level of strength and position, he generally held many of The Hidden Mist Village's secrets and would most often prefer to die in battle rather than be captured alive by an enemy village.

Because once captured alive, the ordeal faced could be ten times more painful than death.

The greater the difficulty, the greater the benefit—capturing Karatachi Yagura alive could allow for interrogation to extract the secrets of The Hidden Mist Village, or leverage Yagura to negotiate with The Hidden Mist Village.

"Yes." Mokgetsu nodded.

Having previously seen Mokgetsu defeat a thousand-man ninja squad single-handedly, Mimura Hamaki wasn't too surprised this time, merely feeling that Mokgetsu was meticulous and reliable.

"Even if he had only brought a hundred people, the outcome of this battle probably wouldn't have changed." Mimura Hamaki sighed inwardly.

At the start, he thought Mokgetsu didn't understand tactics; after the battle ended, he realized it was he who didn't understand Mokgetsu…

The majority of the Hidden Mist Ninja Squad was unconscious and down, and the squad commander was captured alive by Mokgetsu, leaving the tense Konoha Ninja Squad suddenly relaxed.

Upon initially seeing the number of the Hidden Mist Squad nearly double their own, some Konoha ninjas nearly saw their lives flashing before their eyes.

"What is the relationship between Lord Mokgetsu and the First Hokage? Are they distant relatives?" Some Konoha ninjas couldn't help but sneak glances at Mokgetsu, trying to find similarities between Mokgetsu and Senju Hashirama.

Although Mokgetsu's last name wasn't Senju, it couldn't be ruled out that Mokgetsu's mother or grandmother was related to the Senju Clan.

Also having Wood Release, Mokgetsu's strength at such a young age inevitably made people think of the God of Ninjas, Senju Hashirama.

It was almost like seeing the next Senju Hashirama, the next God of Ninjas.

Of course, they only speculated and didn't actually ask.

A while later, Teacher Chen arrived in haste with his squad, looking as if he were facing a formidable foe.

Teacher Chen, leading by example, quickly used Instant Body Jutsu to advance, only to see Hidden Mist lying on the ground and Konoha ninjas cleaning the battlefield.

Teacher Chen was dumbfounded. What was going on? Wasn't this supposed to be a top-level crisis? Where were the threats?

He had been prepared to charge out with Might Guy, yet was instead presented with this scene.

Teacher Chen's squad was equally baffled; a portion of them had participated in the previous battle and thought they might have fallen into another trap like the last time.

Then Teacher Chen noticed something peculiar: there were many strangely shaped trees and exceptionally long and thick vines.

"This is the First Hokage's Wood Release Ninjutsu!" Some memories of Konoha's early days began to surface in Teacher Chen's mind.

He was much more experienced than Mimura Hamaki, having seen Senju Hashirama in action before.

Though not as awe-inspiring as in his memory, this was unmistakably Wood Release!

"Sorry, Deputy Commander Chen, I misjudged our strength against the enemy. We were not in danger; the Hidden Mist Ninja Squad has been defeated." Mimura Hamaki explained somewhat awkwardly.

He had seen a large number of Hidden Mist rushing out and, with no movement from Mokgetsu, had shouted to release the signal bullet, only to be amazed by Mokgetsu's unimaginable strength.

"But your arrival is timely. We've captured a large number of Hidden Mist ninjas, and consolidating the squads will allow us to control them more safely."

Strictly speaking, the signal bullet still needed to be fired, but the wrong type was sent.

"Was Wood Release Ninjutsu used here?" Teacher Chen surveyed the area before finally locking his gaze on Mokgetsu, who was interacting with his students.

Though Mokgetsu had never demonstrated Wood Release Ninjutsu before, he was the only one present among the Konoha ninjas capable of unleashing such a large-scale ninjutsu.

"It was Commander Mokgetsu." Mimura Hamaki nodded.

"The victory in this battle is primarily due to Commander Mokgetsu. He single-handedly defeated most of the Hidden Mist ninjas and captured their commander, Karatachi Yagura."

Teacher Chen looked at Mokgetsu with a face full of amazement.

Despite his speculations, knowing this reality was still surprising—this was the bloodline limit of the God of Ninjas, reappearing so quietly.

Given the need to report the information to Konoha and await further orders from the higher-ups, the consolidated squad settled nearby to rest.

The Konoha ninjas who witnessed Mokgetsu's Flower Forest Emergence enthusiastically recounted how Mokgetsu single-handedly turned the tide of battle, hailing him as the next God of Ninjas.

Very soon, all 1,600 Konoha ninjas in the squad knew of Mokgetsu's heroic performance during the battle.

"Teacher Mokgetsu, what do you think someone would need to defeat you?" Kakashi pondered for a moment before asking Mokgetsu.

He figured it would be less worrisome to base his thoughts on the information Mokgetsu provided rather than guessing blindly.
