Chapter 1127 - Chapter 551: Mokgetsu's Pokemon Hatching

After sending the intelligence back to Konoha, Mokgetsu stationed the squad nearby, waiting for orders from the higher-ups.

With so many prisoners, deciding how to handle them was no small issue.

"Teacher Mokgetsu, are you free now?" Obito asked as he approached the entrance of Mokgetsu's tent.

"I am, come in." Mokgetsu's voice came from inside the tent.

Upon getting permission, Obito entered Mokgetsu's tent.

As he got closer, Obito noticed Mokgetsu holding a Scroll, seemingly focused on it.

Obito's eyesight was good enough to catch a glimpse of a few words, something like "Izanagi"?

He didn't focus much on the content of the Scroll, a bit sheepishly scratching his head and said:

"So Teacher Mokgetsu, you're studying, I must have disturbed you."

Mokgetsu set aside the Ninjutsu Scroll on Izanagi, smiling as he replied:

"Not really, I had studied this Ninjutsu quite a bit recently, just felt like researching it again."

After Shimura Danzo's death, Mokgetsu not only obtained all of Root's apparent assets but also some items Danzo had secretly collected.

The Uchiha Clan's Kinjutsu, Izanagi, was one of them.

"Is there something you needed?"

"Not really, just wanted to ask you some questions, Teacher Mokgetsu," Obito answered earnestly.

"In the beginning, why did you choose the strategy of dividing the troops, wasn't the ambush by the Hidden Mist unexpected?"

After the battle, Obito reviewed the information he had, attempting to learn from Sage Mokgetsu's advanced strategies. Upon analysis, he found many things he didn't understand.

It seemed as though Sage Mokgetsu predicted everything, but it wasn't like that. He recalled that, other than Mokgetsu, no other ninja was unsurprised or at ease.

Such an important war decision, Mokgetsu shouldn't have hidden this from the deputy commander or the leaders of various departments.

"Have you been studying warfare lately?" Mokgetsu asked out of curiosity.

Mokgetsu knew that Obito liked to improve himself when he had time, though he didn't expect Obito to study this particular knowledge.

"Yes, although I'm not leading a squad right now, I won't always be behind you, Teacher Mokgetsu," Obito nodded.

His dream was to become Hokage, and as Hokage, when Konoha faces danger, he would need to stand up and protect it, which might mean commanding the Ninja Squad in battles.

"It's good that you have this thought, but this isn't a great example. The victory in this battle largely depended on my personal strength," Mokgetsu began explaining.

"I chose to divide the forces primarily because Advisor Yan's defeat hinted at information that the intelligence capability of The Hidden Mist Village might surpass ours, so I just…"

From an outsider's point of view on this battle, one might only feel that Mokgetsu was incredibly powerful.

In truth, only Mokgetsu knew he was baiting from the beginning, encountering Karatachi Yagura as expected.

"I see!" Obito showed a look of sudden realization.

There was an information gap between them; he wasn't privy to the details of Mitokado Homura's battle or the results of the intelligence teams' vying.

However, even after knowing everything, he understood that it required immense personal strength, estimating that with ten more years of cultivation, he might barely suffice.

"Thank you, Teacher Mokgetsu, I won't disturb you any further…"

Just as Obito was about to leave, the tent was suddenly filled with a dazzling green light.

Obito looked over curiously and saw a Ninja Beast Egg glowing, just like when a Charizard hatches, except the color was green.

"It's finally going to hatch," Mokgetsu thought as he looked at the Pokemon Egg.

While in Konoha, this Pokemon Egg would occasionally emit a green light with healing power.

"Which Pokemon will it be?"

Before the Pokemon Egg exhibited its Healing Power, Mokgetsu had considered that it might be Rayquaza inside.

Once its abilities were displayed, Rayquaza was mostly ruled out because Rayquaza could not emit green light for healing.

However, determining the specific Pokemon still proved difficult, as there were multiple mythical creatures with healing abilities, and even more non-mythicals with unique properties.

Soon, the green light faded, revealing a small, adorable green figure.

Its head somewhat resembled an onion, with large blue eyes, thick black rings around its eyes, and long green antennae with blue tips on its forehead, and a pair of small transparent wings on its back.

Its hands had only three fingers, and its feet had no toes, making the whole creature resemble a fairytale sprite.

"So it's Celebi, a real mythical beast," Mokgetsu instantly recognized the Pokemon.

"I wonder if it still has the ability to travel through time now that it's been localized," Mokgetsu pondered.

Celebi's battle abilities weren't notable among many mythical beasts, but it had one universe-defying ability – time travel.

Moreover, not only could it travel through time alone, but also take others along, traveling to past or future times.

Mokgetsu thought it likely retained the ability, as localization by the system wouldn't erase such distinctive traits.

For instance, the Taijutsu from Pirates, once localized, had a similar effect, just with the addition of Chakra usage.

"Teacher Mokgetsu, is this your Ninja Beast? It looks like it might know only Medical Ninjutsu," Obito asked casually.

Only Mokgetsu could get away with that; if it were Kakashi's Ninja Beast, Obito's words would have implied that it looked weak.
