In the Sea of Quanta, which was saturated with Honkai energy, bizarre Honkai beasts were visible almost everywhere. The impact produced by two energy explosions flipped over all Honkai beasts on this plane. Circular shockwaves slammed into the fragments with a roar.
The edges of two weapons of the same color palette collided. The heavy force produced a terrifying sonic boom. Non-human power was transmitted through the weapons, shattering the fragments the two were standing on into even finer pieces.
A collision of pure skill. Lin and Yama traded blows amidst the flashes of blades. Their weapons were different, yet they used similar attack patterns. The spear and the straight sword, both entwined with death, carved out black afterimages.
Clang!
The white knight's lance in Lin other hand blocked a vertical slash from the straight sword. He took a large step forward and thrust the spear out, aiming straight for Yama face.
Yama Abyss Flower had seen long-term use in her hands. It had changed from a separable knight's lance into a purely offensive weapon encased in a scabbard called the "White Flower." Perhaps the destructive power of the "Abyss" part had grown stronger, but the abilities belonging to the "White Flower" had transferred into her body, preventing the Divine Key from exerting its full authority.
But for her, it was enough.
Chains swept over her shoulder from behind to collide with the Abyss lance. The chains were knocked away but followed through like a snake on a stick, entangling the Abyss.
Lin immediately felt the Honkai energy in the Abyss being suppressed. He decisively let go and retreated, using the remaining White Flower in his hand to block other lethal chains.
Yama swung her blade casually. She didn't pursue immediately but instead took one of the twelve golden spears from the Oath of Judah. The remaining spears resonated with the one in her hand, emitting a brilliant golden glow.
Lin caught this out of the corner of his eye. He raised his hand, and floating cannon units manifested beside him. Driven by the authority of the Herrscher of Reason, the frames were rapidly filled. Honkai energy gathered at the muzzles, aiming at the nearby Yama and the Oath of Judah.
Boom!
However, a gale descending from above smashed the floating cannons to bits.
A spear of light gradually dimmed beside Lin. Fragments of the cannons fell at his feet.
Yama coldly raised her spear. The spears inside the Oath of Judah erupted with even more dazzling brilliance, turning into beams of golden light that shot up and then fell toward the ground like meteors.
BOOM!
...
Flying out of a crack, Lin entire right arm had been turned to shattered by the impact. This time, he didn't regenerate a new right arm at high speed.
The ability of the Abyss and the ability of the cross to suppress Honkai energy slowed his regeneration to the extreme. Even normal bodily functions were obstructed; blood he couldn't stop escaped from his body.
Yama, with chains wrapped around her arms, followed closely out of the crack. Her rainbow eyes immediately captured the falling Lin. She swung the chains in her hand with full force; the unfolded cross connected to the end turned into a blunt weapon of terrifying weight that smashed toward Lin.
Thud!
The field around Lin body blocked the strike, but his descent grew even faster, smashing him straight into the ground.
Yama let go of the cross, allowing it to fall toward the earth. She raised both hands above her head. Pale bandages were wrapped pathologically around her arms, encasing every finger.
A Herrscher transformed from human greed—every corner of her body was filled with human "sickness."
The bandages on her fingers emitted a scorched smell, blackened by fire. "Flames" transformed into a blade, manifesting from her hands.
The fire of calamity that once destroyed Australia now appeared once more in the hands of the "Messenger of God." She swung the greatsword, and the Absolute Flame wrapped around it roared as it snapped at the deep pit in the ground.
BOOM!
Flame that incinerated everything spread across the ground. Tongues of fire greedily swallowed everything they touched. Even as far as the eye could see, everything was burning in a sea of fire, with no sign of stopping.
Yama looked coldly at the pit that had been hit head-on. Then her eyes sharpened, and she held Might of An-Utu horizontally in front of her—
Crack-snap!
The counter-attacking fire washed over her body. Her Herrscher field and the Might of An-Utu blocked most of the attack for her, but her fingers and feet were instantly vaporized. She gave a cold glance at her bedraggled state and gave a shake; the missing body parts immediately grew back.
In the middle of the raging fire, another person held an identical greatsword of flame. His right arm, which shouldn't have been able to regenerate, was now gripped tightly around the hilt of the sword.
Reshaping his body with the authority of the Herrscher of Reason?
Once a human body is understood, it can naturally be reproduced using the authority of the Herrscher of Reason.
Yama dove down from high in the sky. Two greatswords representing pure destruction met in a furnace of forged fire. A pillar of flame shot up, and the temperature melted the earth beneath their feet!
"Have you not been happy these past three years?"
Yama shifted from a slash to a jolt, knocking away Lin greatsword. She turned back to catch an incoming spear and thrust it into Lin shoulder.
She stepped on Lin chest, raised her blade, and smashed it down heavily. Lin could only do his best to block the sword in front of him.
Thud!
Every strike shook for thousands of miles. Yama offensive grew more insane. Lin Honkai energy was obstructed by the spear; he defended passively, his body parts vaporizing and then reassembling, repeating at an inconceivable speed.
The bandages on Yama body also unraveled and tightened again and again. Pain was etched into her rainbow eyes as she interrogated Lin.
"For you, even if you see everyone die before your eyes with your own eyes, you still must keep moving forward?!"
The Might of An-Utu erupted with the hottest temperature. Yama gripped the greatsword with both hands and slashed down on Lin own Might of An-Utu.
CRACK!
With a giant roar, both weapons shattered simultaneously.
Yama raised her right hand. Another purple longsword, wrapped in thunder, appeared in her hand.
"Can you not just... choose... to end it?!"
BOOM!
The Pseudo-Herrscher core let out a powerful vibration. Lin opened his eyes and slowly propped up his body. All his flesh and skin had been turned to charcoal by the lightning. Beneath the charcoal, new flesh grew; with a light shake, new skin was revealed.
He grabbed the spear stuck in his shoulder and pulled it out with force.
The spear emitting golden light resonated with the core inside him.
Kneeling on one knee, even the Rainbow Eyes in his sockets were close to being unable to maintain themselves under such an intense attack.
Lin raised his head. He looked at the expressionless silver-haired girl. Her eyes looked like anger, and like sorrow.
Seeing Lin raise his head once more, she reached the end of her patience and raised the thunder-echoing blade. A thunderstorm brewed above her head.
"Did you... also go through this back then?"
A moment before the lightning fell, she stopped her movement, staring blankly at the man whose eyes held a trace of pity.
Then, she further ignited the fire in her eyes.
"Of course I went through it."
"And now, I will never let anyone else go through it again."
