Chapter 171 - Chapter 122: Cursed Gold Coin

No need for Sage to worry about the aftermath of the robbery.

With nearly a thousand subordinates and Lily around, why would he need to worry as a pirate?

After executing the subordinates, he returned to the ship.

Not long after, Lily, who was keeping an eye on the subordinates handling the loose ends, also arrived at the captain's room.

At this moment, Sage was holding his gemstone wine glass, gazing fixedly out the window at the vast blue sea.

The weather has been nice these past two days; he actually didn't encounter any storms.

This proves that the so-called storms have nothing to do with him.

Boom!

Just as he thought that, a muffled thunder sounded outside the window, and the sky immediately turned gloomy, with storm clouds covering it. Under the thunderous roar, the wind whipped up, and large raindrops pounded against the window with a rattling sound.

"What the heck!"

Sage gritted his teeth and shouted; he had been planning to go fishing while the weather was nice!

He turned to look at Lily, "How's it going?"

Lily nodded, "The people in the town are shocked, but seeing the wealthy dead made them excited. The wealth those guys amassed was clearly from oppressing the common people."

"Not that stuff!"

Sage twitched his eye slightly and said, "I'm asking how much we robbed in total!"

He didn't care what the dead wealthy individuals did because he was just robbing them.

"It's not fully counted yet; Gin is calculating."

Lily took out a small compass, "The Log Pose hasn't reacted; this island has no magnetic field, so there's no need to wait."

Not all islands on the Grand Line have a magnetic field. The island indicated by the Log Pose is a magnetic island, forming direction and route. However, this route is filled with many islands, some even undiscovered.

Only the Eternal Pose can accurately record the location of each island.

If simply sailing without stopping, the first half can be completed in a few months.

Sage wasn't in a rush; he wasn't ready yet, and his subordinates weren't strong enough, so they could leisurely wander the Grand Line.

Anyway, now he had a use for the money; he could rob slowly, accumulate wealth, and once prepared, strong enough, it would be a chance to break into the New World.

As for whether Doflamingo would renege on his debt...

A whole country stands there; how far could he renege?

He recalled that two years later, this guy would fail and also become a king.

Viewer king.

Whether he fails or not was irrelevant, as long as he wasn't captured to become a viewer king.

This kind of guy has a stronger willpower than old Sandy; he doesn't let things go, unlike those who become indifferent after failing. As long as he maintains his channels and doesn't end up in Impel Down, that's enough.

Two hours later, the pirates returned to the ship one after another amidst the pouring rain after looting the spoils.

In the banquet hall on the first floor, Sage had already instructed Marika to prepare food for the feast.

No matter how much they rob, having a feast after the robbery is essential. Sage himself enjoys it; his subordinates are also happy.

Gin had the subordinates put down their large bags, as well as three chests full of treasures, and said, "Captain Sage, this town had twelve wealthy families, all of whom we've robbed, totaling one hundred and fifty million Belly, plus three chests of gold coins and jewels."

According to the rules, the spare change has been removed and distributed to the pirates who first rushed in; the rest is the loot from this robbery.

Sage glanced at the three chests, furrowed his brow, and clicked his tongue. The chests weren't large; just ordinary treasure chests piled with gold blocks and coins, and some scattered jewelry pendants.

Regarding what Observation told him, there wasn't much worth collecting.

"Hand over that gemstone pendant and that string of red jade necklace."

Sage pointed at the two pieces of jewelry hanging over the gold coins.

Pearl heard and picked up the two pieces of jewelry, handing them over.

In the last battle, all of Sage's jewelries and gold were shattered. It wasn't that he didn't take them off; it was simply because he was bound by strings, making it hard to move, so he used the Dragon Transformation Breathing Technique forcibly.

But those pieces that could be worn were treasures worth collecting, not just having high value, but likely with historical significance.

Although Sage didn't focus on that aspect, Observation sensed it accurately.

These items hadn't been replenished yet, leaving him feeling unaccustomed with his bare body.

Originally, he thought he could replenish a few from this raid, but looking at what he found...

Sage picked up the red jade bead necklace and hung it around his neck, then picked up the pendant to inspect it. The pendant's chain was made of gold string, which wasn't much, but the gemstone was large, carved into a droplet shape, surrounded by an outer loop of blue gemstone resembling wave patterns, quite aesthetically pleasing.

He tossed it to Lily beside him and said, "This suits you."

Lily's eyes twinkled, catching the pendant, and smiling as she hung it around her neck.

She liked perfume but didn't mind jewelry either.

As a former princess, she was well-educated and dressed lavishly, obviously not resisting beautiful and precious items.

"Sage, I want some too," Renedia called out from the side.

"Next time we rob good stuff, I'll let you choose," Sage replied. "The rest is just scrap; you can pick something you fancy."

He then said to Gin, "Put half in my treasure vault; you can divide the rest among yourselves."

This time, the loot shared among them wasn't significant, yet no one objected.

This robbery carried no risk as nearly a thousand people moved together; nobody dared to stop them, so the loot was like picking up free money. Whatever they obtained was a bonus.

Since food and drink were provided by the pirate ship, any money earned was theirs. This time was a chance for them to show themselves; in the future, there would be opportunities to raid independently.

They were more than satisfied with a portion of Belly and some gold coins.

Sage was satisfied too; this was just a town, even though the Grand Line was a single route, it had countless islands and towns. This town was a wealthy one, and there were plenty like it on this route. Robbing along the way could amass fortune slowly.

"Just doesn't compare to a king's wealth, how unfortunate..."

Sage took out a delicate skull gold coin, flipping it between his fingers, and said, "Still need to target a country for a grand heist; otherwise, when will I gather enough jewelry to cover myself? Lily, didn't we get an Eternal Pose or something here?"

Lily shook her head, "It's just an independent island, not a country, so there's no related record."

"Hmm... Did Dof go back? Lily, contact him later and have him point out some worthwhile places for me to raid in the first half," Sage said.

The guy's intelligence wasn't to be wasted.

"Sa-Sage Captain..."

Suddenly, Bellamy's eyes widened, staring at the skull gold coin in Sage's hand, "What's that?"

"It's a gold coin, of course..."

Sage pinched the gold coin between two fingers, curiously glanced at Bellamy, noticing his extremely surprising expression. Sage raised his brow and flicked the coin toward Bellamy, "Familiar?"

Bellamy caught it, scrutinized it carefully, and looked with disbelief, "It's actually real... I thought it was just a legend—Captain Sage, this is a cursed coin!"
