Chapter 79 - Chapter 79: This Is All Your Fault

Looking at these five Moonstruck Beasts, Kael once again thought about what happened last night.

Yesterday, he lost track of time while practicing Charms in the Room of Requirement, and by the time he came out, it was already late at night.

Having repeated the same action for a long time and feeling frustrated with the slow progress, Kael decided to take a walk outside before going to bed to clear his mind, so he left the castle through the secret passage behind the first-floor tapestry.

Initially, he just wanted to take a look at the Quidditch Pitch, but he got so lost in thought that he unknowingly went the wrong way. When Kael finally looked up, he found himself near the Moonstruck Beasts' lair.

Everything happens for a reason.

Since he was already there, there was no reason to return empty-handed.

These five Moonstruck Beasts were brought back by Kael from the Forbidden Forest at that time, which wasn't difficult for him.

Moonstruck Beasts are gentle Fantastic Beasts. Although they all hid in their cave out of shyness when they first saw Kael, they started poking their heads out one after another as Kael danced under the moonlight.

Seeing this, Kael danced even more enthusiastically.

He learned this from Newt; by mimicking the Moonstruck Beasts' dance, he was able to gain their trust in a short amount of time.

Kael was just a beginner, so his effect was only average. If Newt were dancing, he could even charm a whole group of female Moonstruck Beasts.

It was absolutely ridiculous.

However, this dance was somewhat embarrassing, especially considering it was late at night and fortunately there was no one else around, otherwise Kael would never do such a thing.

Absolutely not!

After Kael finished dancing a short segment, the Moonstruck Beasts gradually accepted him and walked out of their cave one by one.

Kael fed them some herb leaves and began to get close to them.

Maybe it was because they frequently encountered Hagrid, but the Moonstruck Beasts in the Forbidden Forest showed little wariness. After Kael promised them unlimited Dittany Leaves, the five little gluttons couldn't resist coming over.

Initially, Kael intended to take away only two, but seeing their big, watery eyes, he felt leaving any behind would be inappropriate, so he decided to take them all.

It was just some herb leaves, he could manage to feed them.

The whole process went very smoothly. With his reminder, the Moonstruck Beasts stayed quiet and followed him out of the Forbidden Forest without making a fuss.

Bringing them back to the Room of Requirement was a bit troublesome.

Since the Invisibility Cloak was too small and could only cover one Moonstruck Beast at a time, Kael had to use the secret passage behind the tapestry to bring them in five separate times.

By the time he had the last Moonstruck Beast in the Room of Requirement, it was already dawn.

Kael's legs were trembling, and he plopped to the ground, panting heavily, taking a long time to recover.

But it was all worth it. With these five Moonstruck Beasts, the issue of plant fertilizers was completely resolved.

Kael was very pleased with the state of the five little creatures. Although they seemed a bit scared, that was normal as long as they weren't clamoring to go back.

After staying here a bit longer, they should get used to it.

...

After leaving the Room of Requirement, Kael went to the kitchen and packed some food to take to Hagrid's hut.

Hagrid still hadn't recovered from his cold and looked listless.

"I brought you some pastries and sausages," Kael said, placing what he had on a shelf.

"Thank you, Kael."

Hagrid picked up a Copper Pot to pour a drink for Kael, but half of it spilled out, leaving him a bit dejected.

"I've never had a cold before."

Hagrid handed the drink to Kael, saying, "Yesterday, Poppy gave me a big tank of potion to drink, which tasted awful."

"There's nothing you can do, that's what being sick is like," Kael said after sipping water. "How are you feeling? Any better?"

"Worse." Hagrid shook his head.

Yesterday, he only felt a bit dizzy, but after drinking the potion, his whole body started feeling uncomfortable, and he couldn't muster the energy to do anything.

This made Hagrid extremely uncomfortable.

Seeing his current state, Kael asked curiously, "Didn't Madam Pomfrey give you a Stimulant?"

Stimulants are the signature cold remedy at the Hospital Wing. Last time, Cedric and Ryan drank them when they had a cold.

Although they would emit white steam from their ears, they wouldn't be left in a listless state like Hagrid.

After all, students needed to attend class; they couldn't go without energy.

"Stimulant? No." Hagrid thought for a moment and said, "Poppy said that wasn't suitable for me and gave me another kind of Magic Potion. I don't know what it was."

Kael suddenly understood.

Indeed, considering Hagrid's size, ordinary stimulants or cold remedies wouldn't work on him.

As he thought about it, Kael glanced at Hagrid again.

This drunken-like state looked increasingly familiar to him.

It was about a year ago when a Poison Horned Beast in Newt's Box caught a cold, and after Newt gave it a specially-made potion, the big creature became quite similar to this.

This...

Kael pursed his lips, feeling as if he'd discovered something quite important.

...

The train arrived on schedule, reaching Hogwarts before the feast.

The entire castle became lively once again.

Immediately after Fred and George returned to the castle, they sought out Kael.

"Why didn't you tell us you weren't going home for the holidays!"

Fred said through gritted teeth, "Mom didn't see you and took it out on us!"

"She thought we bullied you," George said angrily. "She didn't give us a good face the entire holiday."

"Do you know what we've been through these past two weeks?"

Fred continued indignantly, "On Christmas Day, even Ron had delicious turkey and sausage, while George and I got stuck with dried-up sandwiches!"

"This is all because of you!"

The two cornered Kael against the wall, determined not to let him leave without explaining.

"I told you, the day before break," Kael raised his hands above his head to explain. "You guys were examining armor in the fifth-floor corridor at the time."

"The day before break?"

"Fifth floor?"

Fred and George suddenly looked a bit guilty.

They recalled having indeed been on the fifth floor before the break and even saw Kael there.

But at the time, they had just discovered a clue to the Marauder's Map's password behind the armor and hadn't paid attention to what Kael said.

The two exchanged a glance, seemingly reaching some tacit understanding.

"This is still your fault. Why didn't you write to us?"

"We ate sandwiches for two weeks; this can't just be let go!"
