Chapter 77 - Chapter 77: Souring Like a Lemon

The bottles were only thumb-sized, containing a golden potion that looked as dazzling and captivating as molten gold.

After careful observation, Kael was sure that this bottle contained none other than Felix Felicis.

Felix Felicis, also known as the Lucky Potion, is arguably the most complex magic potion in the Magic Realm, with no exceptions.

The precious potion materials were secondary; the most important thing was that it took half a year to brew, and the slightest negligence during that time would require starting over.

Each small bottle was worth a fortune.

"Where did this come from?" Kael turned his head and asked.

"Professor Snape, the Potion Class professor, gave it to me as a Christmas gift," Conna said, puzzled. "Why, didn't you get one?"

Upon hearing this, Kael's heart soured.

Forget about Felix Felicis, Snape hadn't even given him an empty bottle.

"Um..." Kael suppressed the sour feeling in his stomach and asked with a complex expression, "Did you know Professor Snape beforehand?"

Conna first shook her head and then nodded: "I heard my mom mention this name before, but I had never met him before coming to Hogwarts."

Kael looked at Conna thoughtfully.

Prince?

When Snape first gave Conna extra credit, Kael found it odd, but he thought they just knew each other and didn't think much of it.

But now, it seemed he might have been wrong.

If they merely knew each other, even if they were good friends, Snape wouldn't have given Felix Felicis to Conna as a gift.

Malfoy had never received such treatment.

This indicates that Snape must have a deep connection with the surname Prince.

Kael pondered for a moment, and then suddenly realized the name sounded familiar but couldn't remember where he'd heard it.

The only thing he could think of was Princeton University.

But that has nothing to do with the Magic Realm.

Kael thought for a long while before deciding to give up. Holding the glass bottle, he asked, "Do you know what this is?"

"Cold medicine?" Conna answered uncertainly.

Kael shook his head and, not hiding the truth, said directly: "No, this is Felix Felicis."

"...Poof...Kael, you must still be asleep."

For some reason, Conna suddenly burst into laughter: "This potion may look like Felix Felicis, but I don't even know Professor Snape. Why would he give me something so precious? It's impossible."

"Why not?" Kael gently shook the bottle and said: "Is there any potion like this liquid gold other than Felix Felicis?"

Conna still shook her head. "Professor Snape is a Potion Master, and it wouldn't be hard for him to change the color of a potion."

Maybe it's a Christmas surprise he prepared for everyone, and what's inside is actually cold medicine."

Kael explained a few more times, but Conna always found reasons to argue back, making even Kael lose confidence.

Kael understood Conna's reaction.

To be honest, if this bottle were in his gift, he wouldn't believe it was Felix Felicis either.

He'd only think it was a special poison brewed by Snape, made to look like Felix Felicis to trick him into drinking it.

Back then, Conna would probably firmly believe it was Felix Felicis, while he kept finding reasons to argue against it.

One could say it's the same logic.

So, Kael said nothing further.

Actually, confirming whether Conna believed what's in the bottle is Felix Felicis was simple; it just required understanding the relationship between Snape and the Prince surname.

But before that, it was better for him to keep the bottle.

Conna often lost things; who knows, she might lose this bottle one day.

If it really contained Felix Felicis, it would be too late to regret then.

He looked at Conna and said, "Can I keep the bottle with me for now?"

Conna nonchalantly clapped her hands: "You can have it."

Kael quickly refused: "No need to give it, I'm afraid you'll regret it and cry."

He joked that he wasn't the kind of person to take advantage of someone's misfortune, only that his morals were slightly less than others.

"I won't cry..." Conna seemed very dissatisfied with Kael's expression, wrinkling her nose and saying firmly: "Since I said I'd give it to you, I definitely won't regret it. Even if you return it, I won't take it back."

Kael shrugged noncommittally.

If he had a recording device, he would have recorded Conna's words.

Then, at some appropriate time, play it all day in the common room.

After leaving the common room, Kael went to the library and stayed there until noon.

The Christmas feast was exceptionally sumptuous, with a hundred plump roast turkeys, piles of roasted meats and potatoes, and large plates of sausages and buttered peas. For some reason, Kael even saw pastries.

Every few steps along the table, you could see stacks of wizard crackers, an indispensable Christmas item like the Christmas tree.

Kael picked up a wizard cracker in front of him and pulled the string beneath it.

With a booming explosion, a lace-trimmed and fringed lady's hat slowly floated down in front of Kael.

Kael looked around, discreetly putting the hat into his Transfiguration Lizard Skin Bag.

There, a Christmas gift for Professor Snape next year.

Then Kael pulled several more wizard crackers.

The explosions were like firecrackers, and there was no need to worry about getting injured, making it very enjoyable to play.

By the time the feast began, nearly a pile had formed beside Kael.

In total, there were six hats of various shapes for men and women, two sets of Wizard Chess, three rubber wands, several strange gadgets... and a cockroach cluster (?).

Honestly, Kael wasn't sure if this thing was real, so he could only place it in a transparent box and keep it far away from him.

The house-elves' cooking was as reliable as ever. Kael looked at the giant turkey, cut off a piece of drumstick meat, and made a pizza with roasted pastries, meat sauce, and sausages.

After the turkey came the flaming Christmas pudding, which also had small surprises. Conna's piece contained a Silver Sickle.

Kael eagerly cut his piece of pudding, and a hint of yellow peeked through...

Then Kael put down his knife.

He couldn't cut any more; the mango sauce would spill out.
