Chapter 171 - Chapter 169: Quirrell, Why Haven't You Arrived Yet?

After returning from the greenhouse, Kael was about to go back to the dormitory when he was stopped by the Harry duo as he entered the castle.

"Thanks for the book, Kael."

Harry returned the book "Origin of Quidditch" to Kael, and said excitedly, "You were right, it really suits me.

I seriously learned the techniques in there, and during the last practice, Wood said I made great progress, almost like a different person compared to before."

"Finished so quickly?"

Kael took the book, smiled, and said, "It's no wonder Professor McGonagall thinks highly of you; Harry, you really have a gift."

"No, no, I just looked over it lightly." Harry scratched his head, said embarrassedly, "Maybe it's because I had no understanding of Quidditch before, so it seems I've changed a lot."

"No need to be modest, Harry." Kael shook his head and said, "It took me more than a month to fully grasp all the techniques in this book, yet you've cut that time in half."

"Is, is that so..." Harry's face stiffened with a forced smile, and he guiltily turned his head, avoiding Kael's gaze.

Seeing his demeanor, Kael raised an eyebrow, seemingly having guessed something.

"Need to borrow other books?"

Kael asked, "I also have "Quidditch Through the Ages" and "How to Score Quickly" still there, if you need them I can bring them to the auditorium for you."

"No need!" Harry blurted out, "Uh, I mean, I'm too busy right now, assignments, and practice... haven't got much time for books."

"Then whenever you want to read, just let me know anytime." Kael nodded.

He pretty much understood what was going on.

If he wasn't wrong, the Savior hasn't even finished that book "Origin of Quidditch", probably no more than halfway through.

But that's the normal scenario.

Harry Potter being able to sit quietly and read... imagining that scene is somewhat terrifying.

For some reason, seeing the thoughtful look on Kael's face made Harry feel even guiltier.

The truth is, Kael still misunderstood Harry, he hadn't even finished half.

Initially, when he flipped through the book, Harry truly was interested; on the first day, he stayed up late until dawn, and ended up sleeping on the desk.

But that only lasted one day.

After the excitement passed, with those long passages and strange terminologies, his patience rapidly dwindled, coincidentally, Wood also praised him for making great progress, almost on par with Charlie.

Feeling it was enough, Harry only finished a third of it and couldn't bear to read anymore.

Kael chatted a bit more with them and then left.

At this moment, Ron suddenly said, "If only Hermione could be like Kael."

"What?" Harry didn't immediately catch his meaning.

"Haven't you noticed? Hermione always uses a preachy tone with everyone, and everyone can't stand her, to be honest, she's much like a nightmare."

Ron said, "Kael is more excellent than her, he's first in the grade, and even the youngest recipient of the school's Special Contribution Award.

But whether it's helping us before school started or lending you Quidditch books, he is always patient in helping us, never preaching."

"Don't say that, Ron." Harry whispered, "Hermione actually can be quite nice sometimes."

"When was that...?" Ron asked.

Harry hemmed for a while and then said softly, "The day we were chased by Filch, she helped open the door at the end of the corridor, and we escaped thanks to her."

"Yeah, delivered us right to the Three-Headed Dog to be snacks..."

Ron instinctively shivered, said nervously, "Rather face Filch compared to that."

At this point, even Harry didn't speak anymore.

In this aspect, his thoughts aligned with Ron's.

Though Filch is quite scary too, at least won't eat them like snacks.

"The Halloween feast is about to start, we'd better head to the auditorium quickly."

Harry changed the subject, "They say it's as rich as the school's opening feast, is that true?"

"Not just that." Ron quickly forgot about Hermione, said mysteriously, "I heard from George, last year Dumbledore invited the Headless Knight Order to perform.

Wonder who he'll invite this year, if it's the Weird Sisters that would be great, they're the most popular band."

Ron's words made Harry a bit expectant too.

He hadn't heard of "Weird Sisters", but knew what a band meant.

While at the Dursley's on Privet Drive, he never heard any band performance, not even watched any related TV programs.

Simply because Dudley didn't like them.

The two quickly went downstairs heading to the auditorium to attend the feast.

Meanwhile, Kael passed through the kitchen corridor's barrels and arrived at the Hufflepuff common lounge.

Not many were in the lounge, just a few; as Kael entered, they were gearing up to head to the auditorium.

Someone recognized him, asked with a smile, "Kael? Want to head to the auditorium together?"

"I'd love to, but not now, need to find something back at the dormitory." Kael replied, "You guys go ahead, I'll be there soon."

"Alright, but be quick." An upper-year student said, "The Halloween feast is about to begin."

"Relax, been looking forward to those delicacies all morning."

Although said so, Kael didn't plan on attending the Halloween feast in the auditorium.

Today he had a more important thing to do.

Once everyone left the common lounge, Kael sat down on a couch and pulled out a large piece of parchment,

this was the Marauder's Map he borrowed from Fred and George before Herbology Class.

"I solemnly swear that I am up to no good."

Kael recited the phrase, soon the Marauder's Map revealed its ink trails.

The castle revealed, most were gathering in the auditorium, or heading there, only a handful remained elsewhere.

Kael searched around, unable to find Quirrell's name.

Minutes ticked and the feast commenced, leaving only him outside the auditorium, along with Hermione on the first floor, and Filch on the eighth.

"Still hasn't shown up?" Kael frowned, slightly surprised.

Quirrell wouldn't skip out on something, would he...

No, probably not.

Kael quickly dismissed the thought, the feast just started, likely not time yet; need to wait more.
