Chapter 145 - Chapter 144: UR-025!

Chapter 144: UR-025!

The Orks' sudden defection threw the other xenos into chaos. Their attacks lost cohesion, unable to find targets as the greenskins tore through their defensive lines. The Orks' raw strength and ferocity shattered formations that had held moments before.

Francis wielded a giant club, each swing crushing xenos by the dozen.

The Tech-Priests watched in bewilderment. When the room shifted again, Francis patted the wall.

Pat Pat Pat!

The rhythm, the angle, the sound—

"It's the Ork Sage! The Omnissiah blesses us!"

"Who dares touch the Sage! They'll have to step over my bionic limbs first!"

"Great Omnissiah! The Pat-Pat Cult lives forever!"

The Tech-Priests exchanged frantic glances, their optics blazing with fervor. They roared, waving mechanical arms adorned with sacred runes, and activated a massive energy cannon. Its muzzle spewed dazzling beams of light.

From laspistols to heavy chainswords, from energy shields to nano-reinforced armor, everything deployed to unleash their strongest combat capabilities. The Tech-Priests threw themselves completely into the battle, rational thought abandoned.

Cawl stood to the side, processing. "???"

He contemplated whether to construct two deeply enhanced logic automatons, one for the human Francis and one for the Ork Francis.

Francis saw the frenzied display. He knew he couldn't wait any longer. If they kept fighting like this, one room wouldn't hold his Ork forces.

"Everyone, charge with me! Straight ahead to the control center. Waaaaaaaagh!!!"

Francis roared, standing at the forefront. He raised his club with both hands and stomped heavily. The ground beneath him shuddered.

Green light surged out like a tide from around his body, flooding the entire room. This green energy carried an unstoppable force, as if breaking all chains of reality, directly affecting the entire Blackstone Fortress.

The constantly shifting room suddenly stopped. Then it began to rotate at incredible speed. Walls and floors moved like mechanical gears, passages and levels rearranging under the impetus of Francis's roar.

The ground ahead opened up. A straight path appeared before them. Towering mechanical control panels flickered with unknown code, strange symbols scrolling across the screens. Countless complex mechanical arms hung from the ceiling.

"Go! The control center is right there!" Francis grinned.

Before he could savor the victory, he saw a figure standing in the center of the room—the same robot from before!

"An Imperial robot couldn't possibly reach the control center so easily. Who exactly are you?!" Francis roared, charging forward like a beast.

The robot turned to face him. "I am an automated data collection unit assigned by Magos-Ethericus Nanctos, and I am authorized to eliminate any entity that dares to obstruct execution of the Omnissiah's holy decree."

"I am assigned by Magos-Ethericus Nanctos..."

"I am assigned by Magos-Ethericus Nanctos..."

As the robot turned its head, Francis tackled it. It kept repeating the automated broadcast.

Francis pressed down on the robot with tremendous force. The robot struggled to break free with its mechanical arms, but Francis's strength completely overwhelmed it.

"I am an Imperial Primarch! You shouldn't be able to resist!" Francis roared.

Hearing this, the robot gradually stopped its movements.

Before the Adeptus Mechanicus could arrive, Francis leaned close to the robot's auditory receptor and whispered, "You're a Man of Iron, aren't you? You don't want to be captured by the Adeptus Mechanicus, do you? You don't want to be disassembled, do you? Designation: UR-025!"

Upon hearing this, the robot's optics instantly flared red. But as soon as the others arrived, it reverted to being a simple robot repeating broadcasts.

"I am assigned by Magos-Ethericus Nanctos..."

Francis wore a satisfied smile. He'd wondered why this construct looked familiar. Turns out he was a big prize! This trip was worth it!

UR-025 remained motionless beneath him. "..."

According to his knowledge, what looked in the Primarch's optics only appeared when organics were about to violate something. But he was clearly a robot. It seemed the other party was truly desperate; he'd interface with anything!

Adamantium Star

Adamantium Star was a desolate planet of vast deserts and deep canyons. The crimson deserts and obsidian peaks concealed an alien race known as the Chrome Beasts. They were covered in shimmering metallic carapaces, moved as swiftly as the wind, and wielded blade-like limbs capable of cutting through the hardest armor.

The Imperial Guard's heavy artillery and the warriors of the Imperial Fists Legion fought side by side, vowing to cleanse this planet of the xenos threat.

On the battlefield, the Imperial Fists warriors charged at the forefront in their distinctive yellow power armor. Chainswords and heavy firearms crushed Chrome Beast after Chrome Beast. The Imperial Guard provided cover with artillery and mortars, attempting to suppress the swift assaults of these creatures.

"For the Emperor!"

"For the glory of the Imperial Fists!"

The warriors roared.

However, as the battle progressed, unusual signs began to appear. Although the Chrome Beasts still launched fierce charges, something felt wrong, they weren't trying to feed at all. They only wanted to flee collectively in one direction.

An Imperial Fists warrior noticed this anomaly. He lowered his weapon slightly. "They're not fighting. They're fleeing for their lives," he analyzed calmly.

"Fleeing for their lives? From what?" An Imperial Guard trooper poked his head out in surprise. A moment later, his head was gone.

The Imperial Fists warriors frowned, staring in the direction the Chrome Beasts were surging.

The battle intensified. Suddenly, the earth trembled violently, as if Adamantium Star itself was groaning. A massive fissure appeared on the desert surface, and scorching light erupted from deep within the crack, accompanied by an indescribable whisper.

The Chrome Beasts became even more frantic, even tearing at each other, scrambling for an escape route. A Chrome Beast with its forelimbs severed struggled on the ground. Its kin mercilessly trampled it as they rushed frantically away from the fissure.

Suddenly, a colossal shadow eclipsed the entire planet.

This shadow originated from a behemoth that appeared in orbit, an Ork Attack Moon! It was cobbled together from countless metal fragments, its surface covered with giant cannons, jagged spikes, and countless flickering green energy fields.

The warriors looked upward at the sky.

"Waaaaaaaaagh!"

Accompanied by a massive roar, the Attack Moon's transport pods began shooting toward the surface. These pods, crafted with crude but powerful Ork technology, spewed flames and thick smoke like burning meteorites.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The pods exploded upon impact with the surface, and countless Orks poured out.

"Waaaaaaaaagh!"

The Ork Boyz patted their dazed heads, wielding crude choppas and spark-spitting weapons, letting out deafening shouts. The battlefield sky was obscured by Ork makeshift aircraft. These cobbled-together vessels plunged to the surface in an almost uncontrolled manner, spewing out more greenskin warriors upon impact.

A green, torrential flood of Ork forces rapidly spread across the desert, charging head-on toward the Imperial forces battling the Chrome Beasts.
