Chapter 3 - 3

Chapter 3: Actually, I Am a Doctor

The magic venue was packed with people.

Mo Fei and Mindy sat next to each other.

Looking at the so-called Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse below, Mo Fei was certain they had absolutely no connection to the real Apocalypse.

But that woman looked so familiar... he must have seen her somewhere... Mo Fei looked at her... and fell into deep thought... Was it in Woodpecker... or Pirates of the Caribbean... A flash of inspiration!

Mo Fei remembered; it was the beautiful housewife from "The Spy Next Door," which left an indelible impression on him.

"I knew it, how could I have seen her in Pirates of the Caribbean? The female lead there is the famous Ms. A, Keira Knightley. Given her... scale, there's no way she could appear in Pirates of the Caribbean; otherwise, how would Ms. A feel?"

Mo Fei coughed twice.

He finally remembered why he felt familiar with these people who dared to call themselves the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Because their leader was Superman's good friend, Rex Luthor... bah, because they were from Now You See Me.

Mo Fei vaguely remembered that Hulk was their mastermind... but what did that have to do with him?

As long as his interests weren't infringed upon, he couldn't be bothered to interfere in the affairs of these so-called righteous knights!

"Brother, have some popcorn."

Mindy smiled sweetly and brought the popcorn to Mo Fei's mouth.

Mo Fei swallowed it whole and smiled, patting Mindy's head.

Shaking off his wild thoughts, Mo Fei watched their magic show with a relaxed attitude.

And it was actually quite interesting!

Mo Fei: "..."

It's a good thing that trash system didn't manifest in front of him; otherwise, he'd kill it with a single slash!

..."Hey, Old Beggar, this is our territory, don't you know you've crossed the line?"

At the intersection nearby, several young, strong beggars surrounded an Old Beggar, looking menacing.

The Old Beggar's hair and beard were white, his clothes were tattered and dirty, and his body was as withered as tree branches, with sagging wrinkles on his skin, making him look particularly pitiful.

"Hey! What are you doing?"

Mindy shouted, frowning, her small face stern, and she quickly walked over.

It was bad enough that these scumbags didn't do anything decent themselves, but they were also bullying the old and weak; they were worse than animals!

Mo Fei sighed helplessly; he realized Mindy had a strong sense of justice, perhaps because her father used to be a Police officer?

Shaking his head, he followed her over.

Hearing Mindy's voice, the beggars turned their heads, saw the loli-like Mindy walking over aggressively, and were slightly stunned, then burst into laughter: "Little girl, watched too many movies and decided to play the good guy, huh? Where's your My Lord? Didn't he teach you that when you're out, it's best not to meddle in other people's business!"

By the end, the beggars' smiles gradually turned cold.

"Bullying an old man who's almost in his grave, is that how your My Lord taught you?" Mo Fei walked over with a calm expression: "If I were your father, I'd just flush you down the sewer, so you useless things wouldn't go out and disgrace your ancestors!"

Hearing Mo Fei's venomous tongue, the beggars became furious: "Kid, are you looking for death? We'll grant it to you!"

The beggars swung their fists without much preamble, directly striking at Mo Fei and Mindy.

Of course, they were mainly targeting Mo Fei.

Mo Fei shook his head, calmly watching the beggars. "I'll just quietly watch how you die."

The Marvel Universe, this is a World where Newton's coffin lid can't be kept down; there are many super-powered individuals, and Mindy is one of them.

Although Mindy didn't have any amazing fortuitous encounters and wasn't a Mutant, she possessed extraordinary talent in certain areas.

Talent can sometimes be more terrifying than fortuitous encounters.

Even at only 12 years old, she had remarkable achievements in fields such as combat, swordsmanship, marksmanship, and hacking skills, which was incredible.

However, considering that Mindy's father was a soldier-king type, she must have inherited her father's talent.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

With a series of thuds, several beggars were sent flying backward at an extremely fast speed.

The seemingly petite and adorable Mindy calmly retracted her small fists.

Each of them was bruised and tearful, uttering the fiercest threats: "Don't you dare leave, just you wait, we'll call people back to finish you off!!"

"Hmph!"

Mindy clapped her hands and snorted coldly: "A bunch of scumbags and degenerates!"

"Thank you! Thank you both! You are good people!" The Old Beggar wiped his cloudy tears and thanked them.

"It's nothing, Uncle, just a small favor," Mo Fei smiled.

"If it weren't for you two, I might have been beaten to death by them." The old man excitedly grabbed Mo Fei's trouser leg, his eyes filled with gratitude, and after a long, complex period of thought, as if making an important decision, he finally sighed and made up his mind—

He lay down on the ground!

"Help! They're beating people! They've beaten someone to death! Oh my, my leg is broken! It hurts so much! They're bullying a lonely old man like me!"

His hand was still tightly gripping Mo Fei's trouser leg.

Mo Fei: "..."

He looked up at the sky at a forty-five-degree angle, trying to make his tears go back in.

It's hard to be a good person!

"I'm so pitiful! At such an old age, my leg was broken by someone; how can I live! Oh, Heaven! I..."

Whispers started on the street.

"Ding-a-ling!"

The Old Beggar's voice stopped abruptly, and he stared blankly at a scalpel that had fallen to the ground.

Made of stainless steel, gleaming silver, it looked very sharp at first glance!

"Actually, I am a Doctor!" Mo Fei bent down, picked up the scalpel, carefully put it into his pocket, and looked at the Old Beggar with a sincere expression: "I often perform surgeries that cut blood vessels, nerves, gastrointestinal tracts, and heart tissue, so it's perfectly reasonable for me to carry a scalpel with me, isn't it?"

"Reason... reasonable!" The Old Beggar's face twitched, and he said blankly.

"Then, Old Beggar, since we accidentally broke your leg, how much compensation do you think is appropriate?" Mo Fei asked with genuine emotion.

The Old Beggar swallowed, hesitated for a moment, not daring to ask for too much, and cautiously said: "500 U.S. dollars, what do you think?"

Having seen Mo Fei's scalpel, he was afraid that if he pushed Mo Fei too hard, he might get a cut. Suppressing his greedy thoughts, he just wanted the price of a box of cigars to let them both go. It wasn't too much, was it?

"Reasonable! Of course, it's reasonable!"

Mo Fei nodded with a smile, pulled out his wallet, and started counting money.

"Ding-dong!"

A small hammer fell to the ground.
