Chapter 44 - Chapter 19: Guests of the Bat Cave

The car kept swaying left and right on the muddy road, and the three people in the back of the car were constantly bumping into things, occasionally accompanied by the painful cries of the burly Pete.

"Oh♂!"

"Ah♂!"

Su Ming had the impulse to tell him, "Stand still like a good boy♂!"

But in the end, he decided to pretend he didn't hear it.

He also complained in his heart that Briss was so rich, why not spend some money to fix this road outside her door? Whenever it rains, even the Batmobile would jolt badly, wouldn't it?

Cindy seemed quite familiar with this place, turning left and right, darting onto a small path. This small path was covered by various trees, making it impossible to see what lay ahead.

Countless branches and vines slapped against the windshield, with some flexible ones slipping inside through the window and striking the two's armor, splashing water inside the car.

Su Ming didn't speak, just silently put on his helmet. Since Cindy said this was the place, it wouldn't be wrong.

Following the invisible mountain road downwards, they quickly arrived at a small river valley. Due to the storm, the water level in the valley rose dramatically, mixed with a large amount of yellow mud flowing downstream.

For an ordinary person, they wouldn't dare to continue in this situation. If the car stalled, everyone would be swept out to sea by the mountain flood to feed the fish.

But Cindy had no such worries. She only shifted down two gears, driving through the torrent, and after a few minutes, drove the car into a cave.

Inside the cave was different from the outside; it was a smooth path. A concrete road led straight into the depths, with long lights illuminating the high ceiling of the cave.

Following the road, they soon arrived in front of a steel door. It seems she had already blasted the door last time she was here, as the twisted metal lay charred and curled to one side.

Without any politeness, she parked the dirty van next to the shiny Batmobile, turned off the engine, and patted the partition of the rear compartment.

"We've arrived, time to get off. Which traveler booked the one-day tour to the mysterious location?"

Su Ming jumped out of the car, took off his helmet, and finally breathed some dry air here.

After stretching his limbs, he immediately moved to the Batmobile. He had been envious of it for a long time in the movies, and now this super toy was right in front of him.

Taking off his gloves, he caressed the cold steel machine. The Batmobile maintained by Alfred looked brand new. The glossy black paint, every edge and detail was stunning.

The rear of the car featured a massive turbojet engine and bat-wing-like tail fins, combined with broad, non-slip tires and a sleek body, exuding a daunting mystery wrapped in elegance, far better than Cindy's previous broken jeep.

Distinct from the one in the movies, due to the parallel world, Briss's Batmobile seemed more like a weapon.

"Don't even think about it. I tried to drive it away once, but unfortunately, I couldn't even get the hatch open."

Cindy came over. If this Batmobile could lose the tail fin and sport some orange paint, she might like it very much too.

"It should be controlled by the computer here. Both the Bat and the butler are very good at that stuff." Su Ming patted the car's window, put on his gloves, and said, "If you really want to, next time you have the best computer genius in your acquaintance."

Cindy glanced at the group swaying off the TV van, with Pete still dry-heaving from severe motion sickness.

"You mean Gordon's daughter?"

"Yes, that's right. Although she's a bit late in your world, her talent is undeniable. She's one of the best hackers in the world," affirmed Su Ming.

"How about in your world?"

"Tsk, you definitely wouldn't want to provoke her from the other world. If you have designs on her, dozens of people like the Bat will come after you in no time," Su Ming chuckled. Not to mention the Birds of Prey were originally Barbara's, even the national team like the Justice League would come knocking.

"Hmm, sounds like she's quite valuable. I'll establish a good relationship with her, maybe she can help me out in the future," Cindy mused, looking at Barbara being carried out of the car. "If we have a future, that is."

"We should still have time. Once in the Bat Cave, with Barbara, intelligence won't be a problem."

The other three only got out of the car at this point, looking around curiously.

Despite the dim lighting here, and the only weak illumination, once the camera's lights were turned on, one could clearly see the shiny metal platforms inlaid at different heights around the stone walls. Various instruments and computers were placed all around, with the centerpiece being the Batmobile.

"Oh... this place is amazing. Quick, start the camera, I want to film a special report!"

Vico immediately got excited, directing Pete to turn on the camera, while she took out a mirror to touch up her makeup.

Although this wasn't his territory, Su Ming was quite generous. He spread his hands, addressing the group: "Feel free to treat this place like your home. Welcome to the Bat Cave! Oh, but Vico, the recording follows the previous rules, understood?"

"Mmm mmm."

She agreed, though one couldn't tell if she really got it. But seeing Pete nodding frantically in fear, it should be fine, as he was the one handling the camera.

"What should I do?"

Barbara was somewhat confused. She didn't know the location Su Ming mentioned was Batwoman's secret base. Did they know each other? Could clues about her father's disappearance be found here?

"Oh, come with me. There's a server here. If you can crack its security firewall, you can access all of Gotham's information."

Cindy immediately took her to a row of computers, where a giant monitor like a wall was surrounded by many small screens. The console was full of hundreds of buttons, not a single one labeled, all looking identical.

That was why Cindy couldn't get started before.

Barbara examined the massive host quickly, finding an external port to connect her laptop and starting the cracking program.

"How's it going? How does it look?" Cindy asked her.

"I don't know yet. So far, so good. Batwoman's external firewall is excellent, but her defenses against physical connections have vulnerabilities," Barbara replied quickly, tapping away at the keyboard.

She silently apologized to Batwoman in her heart, but she didn't feel guilty. This was for her dad.

Su Ming nodded, giving her space to work without joining the commotion at the host, instead exploring the Bat Cave. It was his first time in person, so naturally, he wanted to see the differences between the parallel world and the comics.

An empty cylindrical glass case, with a black mannequin, presumably where Batwoman kept her suit. It seemed she took it, but the mannequin's bust was too big, disproportionate, a bad review.

A winding spiral staircase leading upward, if he was correct, connected to the study at Vayne Mansion. To come down from above, one had to play the piano in the study.

An operating table, where Butler Hero often operated or stitched up the Bat's wounds. Alfred really was multi-talented.

A massive dinosaur model, looking like a toy, but in the comics, it was actually a part of Bat Cave's security system, a mechanical Tyrannosaurus. Although it wouldn't kill, its program would severely injure any intruders.

Hmm?

Something seemed off...

"Cindy~!" Su Ming slightly turned his head to call behind him: "Have you dealt with the dinosaur here?"

Cindy was busy observing Barbara, chatting with her, trying to get closer and improve their relationship. Hearing Su Ming, she casually asked back:

"What dinosaur?"

"Emmm..."
