Chapter 37 - Chapter 13: Gotham's Most Dedicated Reporter (Part 3)

Pete, who had been cooperating with her for a long time, immediately gave a long shot of the ruins and corpses behind her.

"We still don't know what exactly happened inside the police station, but please follow our camera and take a closer look. Remember, this is an exclusive report by Vico."

As she spoke, she playfully raised her finger and pointed at the camera, flashing a cute smile as if joking with an acquaintance. Her style made many people in the city enjoy watching her news broadcasts.

She led Pete towards the police station, constantly showing various expressions in front of the camera along the way.

"My God, this place is literally a human purgatory!" This was terror; she seemed like a little girl who had found a monster under her bed.

"Who are these men in black?" This was curiosity; she suddenly portrayed herself as a detective, appearing shrewd and determined to find clues.

"These officers fought until the last moment. May they rest in peace, and I hope their families accept my sincere condolences and sympathy." This was sorrow. She was almost more professional than a city council spokesperson and even bowed to the cold bodies on the ground.

In short, she displayed an Oscar-worthy performance. Among news anchors, her acting skills were enough to make her stand out in the Jianghu.

She entered the police station lobby, where the scene was even more horrific. If rain outside could wash away the bloodstains, then here, it was purely a world of blood.

Civilians and police alike lay on the floor of the lobby, looking very much like a massacre scene.

"Oh my God, dear viewers, Vico now feels very scared. I don't know if the killers have left, but as a journalist, I have decided to seek the truth! Please remember me and look forward to my follow-up reports. I am Vico Vali."

She acted appropriately, fully embodying the image of a journalist seeking the truth despite danger, her eyes filled with fear yet unwavering, as if driven by a great mission.

But she actually didn't feel in danger. The scene was clearly a firefight between gangs and police, not some psychopathic killers who would remain at the crime scene.

She just wanted to gain some attention, and with popularity, even if she left Gotham, she could still do well in Metropolis.

At this moment, she noticed Pete also had a terrified expression, as if imitating her, but this tall man didn't suit such a look at all.

"Cut, cut, cut." Vico put down the microphone and helplessly said, "I know you want to be a news anchor too, but physically... you're lacking a bit. Not everyone can eat this bowl of rice."

Pete opened his mouth wide, looking even more frightened.

"Oh, I really can't help you. Why open your mouth so wide? It's too exaggerated." Vico shook her head with amusement, unimpressed by Pete's performance. "Male anchors have much fiercer competition than we do, but since we're partners, I'll teach you. Look at my face, slowly knit your brows, then open your mouth slightly."

Vico kindly demonstrated the slow-motion expressions. The news coverage was almost complete; they would edit the footage in the car and send it back to the station for broadcast.

This time, the scoundrel in the studio would definitely be speechless, so Vico was in a good mood and planned to support her partner. After all, the TV station is a place where human connections matter. If you can't get along with your partner, the future is bleak.

It seemed Pete heard Vico's correction, but he didn't follow her advice. Instead, he improvised freely, shouldering the camera with one hand and wiping his eyes with the other, then covering his face and screaming.
