Chapter 153 - Chapter 126: Fall

Mars Hunter woke up, and the remaining battle could be resolved as long as he coordinated with Su Ming.

Even though Ron was strong, his weaknesses were equally obvious. As an alien police officer and a former member of the Justice League, he was a moral and benevolent model, and he did not kill.

Not only that, but he also had the attributes of a super good person. In the past, his method of dealing with villains was to stand still and let the villains hit him until they exhausted themselves.

Once the enemy was too tired to fight, he would use his mind reading ability to start his persuasion tactics, making the villains weep and repent in minutes.

He adopted many stray cats, and whenever it rained in a city, he would fly over to see if any cats were in the rain. He also had a lot of goddaughters, many of whom were young heroines with tragic backgrounds raised by him.

The fact that the Blue Lantern ring representing hope and benevolence didn't choose him was simply blind.

Unfortunately, his fate was also tragic, all the loved ones he cared for died, and in the N52, he discovered that he was actually a Martian weapon meant to destroy Earth, and when this pre-set mind program activated, he had to execute it.

His friends in the Justice League had completely conflicting positions with him, and he didn't want to fight against the Justice League at all.

So, after being driven into battle several times, he ultimately committed suicide.

During the Brightest Day event, he was revived by the White Lantern, but in recent years, he had been in seclusion, cooking meals for a few adopted girls at home, watching TV, and eating Oreo cookies.

This was his first time coming out of retirement in a long time because the world was facing a threat. However, something went wrong somewhere, and he ended up directly in a tree.

It's estimated that the Nightmare Bats used the flames he feared most against him, and his past experiences on Mars gave him an internal trauma that made him weak whenever he was ignited by flames, and unable to activate any abilities.

"Can you still turn invisible now?"

Su Ming asked as Ron had just come down from the tuning fork, and being affected was inevitable, but his green skin made it impossible to tell if he had also aged.

"I'm fine, what do you need me to do?" Ron showed his bright white teeth in a smile, brighter than Barry, probably due to the contrast with his skin color.

Su Ming frowned, as it wasn't just the comforting smile; Ron's tone also suggested his state wasn't quite right, although he didn't admit it.

So, Su Ming placed the Great Sword horizontally between them, removed his glove to press a bright point on it, causing the metal to soften and flow, transforming into its original X Metal form.

"Catch this drop of liquid, feel it with your heart, and think of some beautiful past memories."

Mars Hunter touched the drop of liquid without a second thought and recalled the joyful times he spent with everyone in the past, his smile growing even brighter.

Although the silver-white liquid was just a drop, Su Ming could feel Mars Hunter's aura rapidly rising, quickly returning to his peak state.

The liquid remained just that one drop, seemingly unchanged. He handed the drop back to Su Ming.

Su Ming knew this would be the outcome. In the comics, the Justice League used a drop of liquid to connect all of humanity, lifting Earth back to the Bright Blood Domain. The energy contained in this small drop of metal was astonishing, and replenishing Ron's lost energy didn't seem to diminish it.

Casually pressing the X Metal drop onto the Great Sword again, it turned into a star-shaped spot. He took off the few silver grenades from his chest and handed them to Mars Hunter.

"In a moment, use your phase ability to fly up invisibly, hang these grenades secretly on Barbatos's robe, pull the cord, and then run."

"Alright, Barbatos should be considered a monster, not a person, right?" He accepted the grenades and asked Batman.

Even though he was entangled by Barbatos in a nightmare for decades, Bruce couldn't definitively define the Dark God, probably not a person, maybe a bat? Or something else?

Su Ming dismissed this doubt: "Don't worry, you expect a few grenades to kill Barbatos? He's so huge, the explosion of these grenades would be like a few static sparks on an ordinary person."

Ron and Batman accepted this explanation, as large size always indicated a great capacity to bear injuries, and as a Multiverse Level being, it would be exaggerated if Barbatos were really killed by a few grenades.

Of course, Su Ming's grenades were US Army standard pineapples, and the X Metal on them wasn't a unified whole. Otherwise, they definitely wouldn't explode, so he attached a bit of X Metal to each raised part to ensure each shrapnel had lethal power.

The explosion should injure Barbatos, but the rest would still depend on themselves.

Watching Mars Hunter gradually turn transparent, his clothes and blue cape disappeared into the air, but the X Metal, due to its special properties, couldn't enter the phase state.

So, Su Ming and Batman saw the grenades floating out of the cave, rising into the sky.

Fortunately, the grenades were small and shouldn't be noticed by Barbatos.

"Let me use that X Metal liquid for a moment." Bruce reached out, estimating he would need energy to save Steel Bone. "For some reason, after we left the Cosmic Furnace, we can't control X Metal to transform like you can."

Su Ming nodded easily, as if hearing the registration sound of an ATM 'click... ding!' in his ear.

At the same time, he guessed that this should be related to the strength of the soul. His soul was twice the strength of everyone else's, which allowed him to accomplish this. He realized this at the time, but didn't say it then.

Revealing this to Batman wasn't an issue, as he would find out sooner or later, and the X Metal within his body was his real trump card.

Su Ming generously handed over a drop to Bruce, allowing him to smoothly awaken Steel Bone. The process was somewhat akin to lubricating a sewing machine.

However, being a robot brought its advantages and troubles. After waking, Steel Bone needed to run a self-inspection of his program. Earlier, in that nightmare, the Mother Box seemed to rebel, even wanting to detach from him, causing him unease.

Su Ming ignored Batman and Steel Bone's actions, sneaking to the cave entrance to observe the sky.

The time was about right.

The sound of a violent explosion suddenly erupted, and a flash of silver-white light illuminated the entire battlefield like a fixed star bursting, causing all dark creatures to scream, clutching their eyes.

Barbatos was no exception. Countless X Metal shrapnels penetrated his back and deep into his body. Though these wounds were insignificant, it was like hundreds of small stones were embedded in his body, the pain making him stiffen entirely.

Normally, this wouldn't be a big issue, but on the other side, he was still deadlocked with Silver-White Witch.

In that instant, Silver-White Witch seized the opportunity, her entire body surging with power, Order Magic beginning to alter the surrounding local reality.

Silver energy seemed to transcend space and time, dispersing Barbatos's black light directly and accurately, transforming into a pair of phantom hands, clutching his neck and violently pulling him downwards.

Barbatos finally separated from the tuning fork, plummeting downwards at an extremely high speed.

Su Ming immediately emerged from the cave, sprinting towards his falling location, alongside a few other heroes of unknown origin, though Su Ming was the closest.

Barry suddenly appeared from behind, carrying him, although he had been vomiting too long, his steps seemed shaky. He gave Su Ming an apologetic smile.

"Sorry for being late."

"No, the timing was just right."

"Oh, like I said, I'm best at catching up on time."
