Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 — “The Night I Died

Rain poured over the city like shards of glass.Elena White stood at the edge of the marble staircase, her white dress soaked in scarlet — not rain, but her own blood.

"Damian…" Her voice trembled, disbelieving. "You ordered them to kill me?"

The man she once called her husband looked down with cold, indifferent eyes. Damian Cross — the CEO of Cross Group — every inch of him radiated power and cruelty. At his side stood Clara Jones, Elena's best friend… the woman who was now wearing her wedding ring.

"Don't blame me," Damian said flatly, his tone void of emotion. "You shouldn't have tried to dig into the company's accounts. You forced my hand."

Elena's lips curled into a bitter smile."I gave up my career… my friends… everything, just to stand beside you," she whispered.Clara's laugh cut through the storm like poison. "You were just too naive, Elena. Damian never loved you. You were just a convenient name to cover his scandals."

A gunshot thundered.Pain bloomed in her chest — warm, suffocating, final.

As her vision dimmed, she saw their silhouettes fade behind the rain.So that's how my perfect love story ends…

But fate wasn't finished with her.

When Elena opened her eyes again, sunlight poured through the window. The scent of roses replaced the iron tang of blood. Her trembling hands touched her face — unscarred, unshot.

The calendar on the wall read: May 12, 20XX — Five Years Ago.

Her engagement day.

Her phone buzzed.A message from Clara:

"Don't be late tonight! Damian has a surprise for you ❤️"

Elena's lips curved, not with innocence this time — but with a slow, chilling smile.

The first time, I died because I loved them too much. This time… I'll make them both kneel.
