Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Observation and Learning

Lin Yuan rode in the car driven by Zhang Ziyi, traveling quickly through the streets of Hong Kong. Today's shooting location was in a bathhouse.

The story of "Rush Hour 2" continued from the previous movie.

The plot was roughly as follows: The inspector played by Jackie Chan and the Black detective played by Chris Tucker formed a partnership.

The two came to Hong Kong for vacation together, but were involved in a bombing.

Don Cheadle played the villain boss in the film, while Zhang Ziyi played the villain boss's capable female thug.

What would be filmed in the bathhouse today was a fight scene where Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker teamed up to fight against gang members.

When Lin Yuan and Zhang Ziyi arrived at the filming location, the scene had already begun.

This was the first time that Lin Yuan watched Jackie Chan filming an action scene up close. Naturally, he was extremely curious and paid close attention to observe and learn.

Although he had filmed some action scenes himself, he had never filmed this kind of group fight scene. If he could learn a little from Jackie Chan, he could avoid many detours.

Jackie Chan, who was wearing a bathrobe, was being beaten by a group of gang members who were also wearing bathrobes.

At the beginning, Jackie Chan was fighting with the gang members in a methodical manner.

But he was outnumbered and was soon kicked to a pile of chairs.

So, the furniture city war god mode was officially started!

He first used a chair in various ways to repel the enemies, and then used an iron trash can as a weapon to kick the enemies one by one.

Seeing that the situation was not good, more enemies surrounded and attacked.

Jackie Chan immediately did a series of parkour rolls among the sofa chairs, putting distance between the enemies and defeating them one by one.

The entire action scene was connected very smoothly and coherently, and the choreography was also humorous and interesting. It was the standard Jackie Chan style at first glance.

Style?

Lin Yuan suddenly realized something, and an idea flashed through his mind, but he didn't have time to catch it.

He did not dwell on this point, but continued to observe the filming with an open mind, especially Jackie Chan's use of the lens, which gave Lin Yuan great inspiration.

Lin Yuan discovered that throughout the entire fight scene, Jackie Chan rarely used quick camera switching.

Instead, it made more use of the arrangement of characters' appearances, which not only made the fighting scenes more tense and exciting, but also made the pictures more coherent.

For example, when Jackie Chan defeated an enemy on the left side of the screen, he would definitely arrange for another enemy to enter the screen from the right side in advance.

This ensured that as soon as one enemy was knocked back, another one followed immediately.

This ensured that the action continued and the characters were always in the fight, thus creating the excitement of the fighting scenes.

Perhaps this was the scene arrangement skills of the action master.

While Lin Yuan benefited greatly from it, he also had to admire it.

"Cut!"

Following the director's instructions, the filming of this action scene was completed perfectly.

Jackie Chan twisted his arm and walked out of the set.

He saw Lin Yuan and waved hello.

At this time, a member of the Chan family class stopped him and said, "Brother, the gang members came again last night..."

"Let's talk about this later. I need to take care of something first." Jackie Chan interrupted him, walked to the cabinet, took out a document, and walked towards Lin Yuan.

"Did you sleep well last night?" Jackie Chan asked with a concerned smile.

"If I can't get a good rest in my big brother's mansion, then I won't be able to survive in my humble home?" Lin Yuan replied with a smile.

"That's good. I was worried that you wouldn't be able to get used to living here. By the way, this is the agreement for this cooperation. Please take a look and see if there is anything wrong." Jackie Chan handed over the document in his hand.

"Bang!"

Lin Yuan took the document and was about to open it to check when the floor-to-ceiling glass door next to him was smashed to pieces.

A group of gang members wearing black suits and holding steel pipes and machetes rushed into the filming site and surrounded the crew.

Lin Yuan made a rough count and found that there were at least seventy or eighty gang members. Several leading members had bulges on their waists, and they were suspected of carrying guns.

What was going on?

The gang members in black suits separated from each other, and an old man in Tang suit came out.

"Mr. Tang San, why are you here?" Jackie Chan's face looked very ugly.

"The more successful some people become, the more stingy they become. I can't stand by and watch someone break the rules!" said the old man known as Mr. Tang San.

"I brought the crew to Hong Kong to shoot a movie to promote Hong Kong and Chinese culture to the world. I don't owe you anything, and I won't give you a penny of protection money."

Jackie Chan had always been against these gang members. He had also experienced the situation where his film reels were stolen and the location crews were constantly harassed.

But he didn't give in back then, so he wouldn't give in today.

"Then what else is there to say? It seems that you won't change your mind unless I teach you a lesson." said Mr. Tang San.

"I'm warning you not to mess around and create negative international public opinion. You'll have to pay the price!"

"Don't worry, I won't touch those foreigners. But that pretty girl will be in trouble."

Mr. Tang San pointed at Zhang Ziyi and said, "Take her back and play with her. Send her back when you pay."

"Don't go too far!"

Just as Jackie Chan was about to step forward, he was stopped by five or six gang members.

Looking at the machete flashing with cold light, he didn't know what to do for a moment.

Although he often fought alone against many enemies in movies, it did not mean that in reality, he could really fight against several enemies armed with sharp blades. That would be simply seeking death.

Although there were nearly twenty members of the Chan family class in the crew, they were all unarmed. How could they fight against gang members who were at least three times their number and were armed with weapons?

"What are you doing? Let me go!" A big man held Zhang Ziyi hostage and dragged her out.

This was the first time Zhang Ziyi had encountered such a thing. She was completely unprepared and frightened to the point of paleness, tears streaming down her face.

"Brother, please save me, don't let them take me away."

"Let her go!"

Just as Jackie Chan was about to rush forward, he was immediately forced back by the machete, and his face turned ashen.

The entire crew was intimidated and dared not speak out.

"Crack!"

Just as Zhang Ziyi was about to be dragged out of the door, a wooden stick suddenly swept across and hit the big man's wrist hard, causing a crisp sound of fracture.

Zhang Ziyi raised her tearful eyes and was surprised to find Lin Yuan standing in front of her, holding a wooden stick pulled out from a broom.

She was stunned for a moment, then immediately pushed Lin Yuan out the door.

"Brother, don't worry about me. There are so many of them, just run away!"

But Lin Yuan seemed to be nailed to the floor, and she pushed him hard several times but to no avail.

Lin Yuan noticed that even when she was in danger, the first thing she thought about was his safety.

It was worth it to stand up for her today.

Lin Yuan pulled her behind him and pushed her back into the middle of the crew before saying, "It's okay, I'm here. No one can hurt you."

In fact, Lin Yuan did not expect that something like this would happen today.

With Jackie Chan's fame and status, who abroad would dare to treat him like this?

But it actually happened in Hong Kong, in his hometown.

Maybe this was human nature. You had made your fortune here, and people had seen your humbleness before you became successful, so they naturally thought that you were not that great.

If you knew too much about someone, you would lose your halo.

This matter originally had nothing to do with Lin Yuan, but since it implicated Zhang Ziyi, he had to take care of it.

He was seen standing alone with a wooden stick in his hand, fearlessly standing in front of a group of thugs in black suits.

"The local gangs are so rude."

"You may not listen to what I say now, but you will listen carefully in a while."
