Chapter 90: Maid Sisters and the Yandere's Background Check

After familiarizing herself with the layout of the house and their respective rooms, Ram returned to the kitchen and began preparing dinner for Ren and the others.

She made three portions, as Ren had already moved in, and Yuno and Satou—both orphans like him—had also moved in to live together, officially beginning their cohabitation.

After witnessing the unusual relationships between Ren and Yuno, as well as Satou, following Anon, Ram was somewhat surprised but said nothing and showed no signs of disgust.

Whether Ren was fickle or devoted, he was her master, and that would never change.

When she accepted the job as a maid, she had already prepared herself to serve Ren for the rest of her life.

Moreover, Ren's expectations were quite clear. Though he might not be interested in her now, there might come a time in the future when she would have to serve him in bed. After all, a maid could always be promoted to a personal attendant.

"Ram, do you need to go back and inform your sister tonight?"

During dinner, Ren brought up the topic proactively. To put Ram at ease and avoid affecting her future work, he thought it best for her to clarify the situation with her family in advance.

"Yes, I will come back tomorrow morning to prepare breakfast and lunch boxes."

Ram had been wondering when to bring this up with Ren, but he beat her to it. Gratefully, she nodded.

"Alright, I'll take you back later."

Ren smiled faintly. This little maid was quite easy to handle. A little understanding and tolerance were enough to move her, just like a fresh graduate easily fooled.

"Yuno, Satou, what do you think of Ram's cooking?"

After discussing Ram's matter, Ren asked for Yuno and Satou's opinions.

"Quite good. She's more than capable of taking care of Ren."

Yuno gave an objective evaluation. Ram's cooking skills were excellent, far better than her own, making her qualified as a maid.

"Thank you for the praise, Miss Yuno."

Ram expressed her gratitude for every compliment, providing ample emotional support.

Once everyone was satisfied with her cooking skills, the next step would be to evaluate her housekeeping abilities. But that could wait. After dinner, Ren drove Ram home. She lived in a dilapidated apartment building where the wall paint had peeled off in many places. Only two of the five motion-sensor lights on the stairs worked, and the occasional squeaking of rats fighting over food could be heard.

"Please excuse the poor conditions."

Ram bit her lip awkwardly, feeling somewhat embarrassed.

"Not at all. Working hard to improve your life is admirable, isn't it? I can advance part of your salary so your sister can move to a safer place. That way, you can feel more at ease, right?"

Ren neither mocked nor looked down on Ram's poverty. Instead, he thoughtfully offered her convenience.

"Thank you, Young Master."

Ram pressed her lips together, her expression complex, unsure whether she was happy or excited. She couldn't refuse, nor did she want to. The place she shared with her sister Rem indeed made it difficult for her to stay away from home for long periods without worry. Moving elsewhere would undoubtedly be better, which was one of the reasons she had applied for the job.

"Once you're upstairs, tell your sister to start packing. I'll give you your salary tomorrow."

Ren smiled gently and waved at Ram. After getting out of the car, Ram bowed to Ren before reluctantly heading upstairs as if unwilling to part.

...

Meanwhile, ten minutes earlier, Yuno glanced at her phone and looked at Satou: "Will you go or should I?"

"I'll go, but you're not allowed to sneak any treats."

After some thought, Satou decided to handle it herself, but she didn't trust Yuno. The difference between them and Hitori meant that whenever they rested with Ren, if he showed any reaction to their hugging, kissing, or even small gestures like touching his thighs or abs, they would not hesitate to start milking him dry. Often, they did it intentionally.

So this was something that had to be guarded against. Satou didn't want to come home to find Ren carrying Yuno's legs.

"We have school tomorrow, and it's PE class too. Wouldn't it be better to save our energy for then? Ren definitely hasn't experienced or even thought about doing naughty things during PE class."

Yuno smiled faintly, explaining to reassure Satou. After being with Ren, their mindset was to make him happy by any means possible—not just at home, but at school too.

"Hmph, that's more like it. Let's go."

Satou stared distrustfully at the smiling Yuno for a good while before believing her words, then got up and went out.

After Ren saw Ram home, Yuno and Satou discussed and decided they still needed to personally vet Ram to eliminate any factors that might affect their relationship with Ren.

After all, Ram was different from Hitori and the others—they hadn't picked mugwort together. So regarding Ram, they couldn't fully trust her yet.

Therefore, a background check was necessary.

Once Ren dropped her off, Yuno obtained information about where Ram lived.

...

"Sister, who was that just now? And you're back so late tonight..."

On Ram's side, she had just returned home when her sister Rem, a girl with blue hair cut at neck length, looked at her with concern.

"You saw?"

Ram showed a hint of panic upon hearing this, but quickly calmed down. She had just changed jobs, so there was no need to panic even if Rem had seen.

"Mhm."

Rem nodded lightly, the worry on her face not diminishing in the slightest.

"He's my employer. I found a job that can support us, Rem. We have money now."

Ram only told half the truth, not telling Rem that she had become a maid, as that might make Rem more worried.

"A new job? Really?"

Rem sounded pleasantly surprised but still concerned. The two sisters had faced many covetous looks since leaving the orphanage. Without anyone to rely on, they were easily bullied by shop managers or staff, with wage deductions or deliberate harassment being common occurrences.

So Rem couldn't completely dismiss the worry in her heart.

"Truly, Lady Luck is on our side this time. Pack your things, we're moving out tomorrow. I've long been sick of this musty smell."

Ram smiled naturally, without any hint of reluctance, only expectation and joy for their future happy life. This put Rem considerably at ease as she helped Ram pack their pitifully few clothes.

During this, Ram continued fantasizing about the future, saying that once they had money they wouldn't just get a new house, but also buy new clothes and feast lavishly—all simple desires that sometimes proved difficult to fulfill.

All of this was heard clearly by Satou outside the door, confirming to her that these sisters were harmless.
